Wait, I thought they headed toward Weisshaupt and disappeared?  And Weisshaupt is just a teensy bit more west than Val Royeaux, it's just really far up north. Or did my myopic eyes lie to me about my epilogue? 

I got the feeling Solas shrugged off Leliana's agents quickly. So he could be heading anywhere except Ferelden and the Korcari Wilds, really. But Tirashan seems more likely than most.

The Hero of Ferelden going West to stop the Calling is all kinds of weird. And I just don't see how it can be done. It would take the powers of a god or something for the Wardens to be able to manipulate the Taint like that without blood magic...

..Eeep.

 

You know how earlier we were discussing the elves finding a place that doesn't border a human kingdom to avoid a repeat of the Dales?

Why not some abandoned elf territory in the far west, accessible only by elves through the eluvian network or by marching through the Sea of Ash and Tirashan and Hunterhorn Mountains?

Oh my stars and garters Solas going to set up the New Dales is my new favorite headcanon. He's assessing real-estate.   Breaking old barriers. Hanging out with Anaris!Abelas!

Actually that never really fit together in my head.  He hasn't absorbed Flemeth's power by the time he leaves.

(Does Skyhold keep the Eluvian or does Morrigan keep it?) For some reason this very simple thing has been escaping me. 

I think Bioware has shown that they're willing to bring back characters some people killed off if they think it's good enough for the story.

It drives me nuts that Hawke goes to Weisshaupt. The new Warden-Commander going up there makes perfect sense.

But why Hawke? Corypheus is down south, there's enough Wardens left to explain things, her only dealings with Warden have been (possibly) her siblings, and the shebang with Corypheus. ...

Well, point being: Hawke did not die. She is left in the Fade, that is all. She never dies in any game. We just don't know. Even the choice way "Hawke will likely die covering your escape" (or such). That's why I said "supposedly". I don't buy it yet.

 

I think it stays at Skyhold. I think I once checked in the... after game (that sounds weird) and it was still there. Though technically that does not make sense, it belongs to Morrigan.

 

And I think Hawke does to Weisshaupt because she has some serious bone to pick with the Wardens as a whole, the organization. She has shown quite some agitation . Now, why Hawke? Probably just because we know her. I can deal with her being friends with Stroud, but Loghain and Alistair just make no sense. However, it serves the fans well. I try not to think about this because I cannot assume any "sensible" reason other than relying on known characters for deeper fan immersion.

Back to Weisshaupt: we should not forget how Stroud in DA2 mentions that there is something worse going on than the revolt in Kirkwall. And he did not know about Cory then, so there must be something more fundamentally off with the Wardens, not just a group of them summoning demons. But whatever it is, it is part of the big picture and possibly not revealed for another few games.

 

Edit: first sentence I don't get. What does it matter if he gets the powers a bit later? Or did you refer to how he came to Flemeth in your previous post (about where to go to by foot)? I had thought you meant where he would go next.

I haven't tried it yet; I'm still pretty noobish for modding DA:I beyond monkeying around with textures and SweetFX.  But this might just save my second playthrough; that banter bug is frustrating as all hell.
