Speaking of Fenris and his lyrium tattoos-
Can someone remind me: Do all of the slaves in Tevinter have them? Well, not all of the slaves, but some? And are they marked with special designs relating to who owns them or are they random?
I don't think so, but I don't think we have information on that. Fenris's tattoos are curious in that they look similar to vallaslin. And it would certainly fit with the theme of Tevinter being Arlathan's bastard human child. *shrug*

I don't believe they do. From what I understood from Fenris, the process used to create him was extremely time intensive and excruciating. He was so valuable to Denarius because of the effort and money used to create them. I wouldn't be surprised if there's one or two more of them though.
A theory is that it is possible that slaves in Arlathan were similarly fitted with lyrium tattoos, possibly so that they could be commanded. It is also possible that the Forgotten One cultist elves use red lyrium tattoos.
Yeah the idea/process had to come from somewhere. Would be interesting if the red lyrium tattoos on those elves...
But wouldn't it not only infect the elves with the blight (which we can hand-wave because ancient elves, maybe), but start infecting the world? We don't see that until they start mining it specifically. So maybe it's

About Fenris's tattoos, I'd always assumed the reason why he lost his memories was because the pain was just that excruciating, but what if it's got something to do with lyrium? Cole can make people forget after all, as can Solas, and lyrium's tied to the Fade.
Argh. Fenris and Solas really should have met each other. That would bring up so many clues.

Not sure! We don't really know if they are red lyrium tattoos, that part is just speculation. We do know the coloration of their vallaslin is red. I don't think ancient elves are immune to lyrium corruption though. We have a likely case with Andruil, and then a definite case with Solas in the alternate version of Redcliffe. Also those paintings that seem to perhaps suggest red lyrium.
One theory- if the blight comes from the void, and the void is the domain of the Forgotten Ones, perhaps their thralls have an immunity?
If there is a mind behind the blight, and that mind has something to do with the Forgotten Ones, that would also explain why Fen'Harel was able to transverse the void without corruption. [Where as Andruil could not.] They considered him to be on their side before he betrayed them.

They begin by using lyrium in the vallaslin to enhance slaves for their appointed tasks, but then someone (*cough*Ghilly*cough*) had the bright idea to mix it with Blight juju and use it as vallaslin?
The Red Lyrium Slaves are largely wiped out in the ensuing war, or driven to the West?
Also, just taking a look at Thedas, more and more I think the Anderfels is an early-stage version of the Sea of Ash and all the badlands on the other side of the Hunterhorn mountains. Something went wrong there, and I wouldn't be surprised if it involved Arlathan and the Forgotten Ones.

I think it's a bit darker. Gaider mentioned at one point Fenris was sexually assaulted. So the pain of the tattoos and then that trauma, he blocked a lot out. So whenHawke and him finally get together and he flees saying that he remembers and it hurts, Gaider mentions it's bringing back a lot of the really awful memories he suppressed. Which is why he flees. So I don't think his memory issues were the tattoos perse, just him trying to forget the horror of his life as a slave.

I'm the biggest softie in RPG's. It's pretty much me chasing everyone around screaming 'LOVE ME!' . The Solas punch is so out of left field. It's just like 'I don't like what you have to say' *bam*. I've watched the video of Dorian's though and it is hysterical. Guy goes down like a ton of bricks. Cole's final disapproval video is so upsetting. I could NEVER play through a game where Cole hated me.

She did. It was just a circle with all our theories on it. Frankly it could have just been a giant singular color pie chart that said "THEORIES". I loved it Ave, your charts are great, I was more amused at the visual reminder of how ridiculous our talks get on here.
There is a cycle to our discussions though. We go from Solas Character Talk, to talk about what he's up to, to talk of Flemeth and the nature of the gods, then the blight/Grey Wardens, then solas again.
