I'm burned out on the third. Haven't been playing a great deal at all really. I will later, but other stuff seems more entertaining at the moment. Probably will go back to Vampire: The Masquerade before I play DA I more.
They really need to do an updated remake of that game... It was fantastic. Imagine if the characters were given Bioware depths...

I do think Solas's views about slavery comes from an outsider's perspective. Look at this banter with Bull:
Solas is focused on wasted potential. If this were Fenris however, his focus would probably be on power dynamics and survival
Solas gives the middle (or even the upper) class liberal view, Fenris the slave/proletarian view... IB is an idealistic collectivist, Sera a working class anarchist and Blackwall a working class proto-revolutionary (which is why he volunteers to work for Sera's organisation "Once all this is over").
And I like politics... I especially like that a game gives characters political viewpoints.

Also, that statement of Chris Priestly's that someone on the thread happened to see in some Facebook group that pretty much revealed the presence of a twist months beforehand but we weren't sure what to make of it? And we were all scared it would be Anders 2.0? If I remember correctly, it was something like "Solas will be the character fans will be talking about afterwards". We knew this before we knew any other real information about Solas!

I dunno, younger Solas seems to have been pretty in favour of just tearing sh*t down. This is now tempered by age and experiences, but he still isn't a fan of institutions. He's more in line with Sera's views, except his instinct is to make your revolutionary efforts mean something by building something better afterwards.

Oh god, I remember that! Especially since it was one of the very very few pieces of info we had about him. The quote was something like, "Solas is a character that fans will be talking about for years to come". And I, in my innocent naivete, thought this just meant that he was a really cool and interesting character. *sobs*

Agreed. He's a revolutionary coming from a position of privilege. And, like many revolutionaries, he had trouble making his changes stick.

What color did you make Solas' battlemage mail? I'm torn between full white, green/white or light blue/white
First playthrough I used a storebought set with the brown color. I think he kinda looks best in a brown set, but it's more fun to play with colors. 
On my current playthrough I went with all white. I was going for the white wolf look. The teal-y blue undershirt version is nice though.
Oh god, so it is possible to ****** them all off enough to have them leave? I didn't know. That's awesome... in a way. But none of them tries to murder you like in DAO, right? Man, was I surprised when Zevran attacked me. I had no idea I was being particularly mean to him.
Damn, poor Dorian. Seeing him like that is almost a physical pain. My most emotional moment in the game was his friendship speech. I almost cried. I did cry for real when I listened to the audio stream of Morrigan and Alistair about Kieran a few days ago. Lol?
Solas breakup? Nah! But I lost it at Morrigan's vulnerable side. Damn you, Bioware, for sneaking up on me like that!
I think they all can. I remember in my first play through of DA: O when Zev tried to murder me, I was like 'hey wait, I know i didn't give you a bunch of gifts but i let you live. THAT HAS TO COUNT FOR SOMETHING'. that first play through was not my canon, needless to say. that one was a disaster. i killed wynne to please morrigan -- she is the actual worst influence. knifed brother gentivi in the head and leliana HATED me. sten and i were constantly at odds. i literally don't know how Alistair could stand me. i like to think he was geniunely terrified of that character so felt he had no other choice.
The friendship speeches in this game(Cass/Dorian) and then the one in ME3 with EDI/Liara all probably make me more emotional than the Solas romance scene. I think it's just the blank honesty of them -- I don't get that with my own emotionally guarded and dysfunctional friends. We'll admit our love to other people but never to eachother. I've gushed before about how much I love Bioware Friendship Fun Time, it's seriously the best.
