Solas looks amazing in light blue, imo.
So would you say, he's a winter?

I have a feeling something like this could end up a possible sad ending. Solas might complete his goal, help the elves, but end up trapped in the same prison that the other elven gods were in the mirror. With the other gods having all jailbreaked, so he'd be trapped alone.
But offscreen maybe Lavellan could embark on a quest to get him out.

Solas is Lenin (a revolutionary but with a comfortable upbringing), to Sera's Bakunin (who also had a comfortable upbringing)... In fact most revolutionaries had a middle/upper class background.
What Solas doesn't seem to realise and perhaps IB does, is that if he is ultimately successful, he might well end up with something resembling... the Qun...
Right, because to succeed as a revolutionary you have to be well-educated, charismatic etc. Moreover, the oppressed rarely have a moment to stop for a moment and think about how oppressed they are. Also, they lack resourses and connections *shrugs*

I actually think he does have style. I thought was...dressing down for the occasion.

That is so funny. I have plans for playing Mass Effect after I'm done with my current playthrough, my cannon Lavellan. I was also planning on killing Kaidan for the same reasons, are you saying that Ash makes the decision not worth it? Because then I may have to rethink my approach.
Well..I just love the Kaidan romance a lot, but even if you don't want to romance him..I like him better than Ash. Ash is alright in ME1...but in ME3 she annoys me..she totally changes. Personally..I think she looks a little slutty in ME3...but that's just me.

You did not just... Oh you did. Now I'm never going to stop thinking of him going to a color consultant in Orlais when he's fed up with being told he dresses like a hobo all the time. You know what - that's what he's doing out west. Getting told what season he is and how to dress better.

Though if anything, it'd be Vivienne volunteering herself to be his colour consultant.
Viv: Solas, darling, I believe you are in need of a certain...intervention.
Solas: I am not sure what you mean, Enchanter
Viv: Well, dear, I'm sure you are aware of the unfortunate state of your wardrobe. As a member of the Inquisition, your clothing choices reflect badly on all of us. Now, I have gone to the considerable trouble of arranging a set of outfits to be delivered from Val Royeaux.
Solas: ...You are too kind
Viv: Of course I am, but this had to be done. For the good of the Inquisition, as well as my own personal peace of mind.

Orlesian Consultant: Can I help you?
Solas: Well . . .
OC: Wait! {runs over and bangs emergency gong} All hands on deck! This is not a drill! I repeat this is not a drill!
Solas: What's going on?
OC: {grabs ax and breaks open a chest} Madame de Fer gave this chest to us in case a hobo-looking, bald elf came for a consultation. It's contents hand-picked by the madame. It's for emergencies only. And now is the moment we have been waiting for!
{Another consultant throws confetti on Solas. Meanwhile a marichi band playing Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman" materializes out of a giant frilly cake.}
Solas: Why is there a band?
OC: Hush. We need make-over montage music. Now, sit.
Edited to add: Obviously Jellobell has a beautiful, beautiful mind. Also, great minds.

His orginal kit is soooo practical for trekking, back pack, bum belt, layers, even a mug... He is a survivalist...
But it's all a disguise anyway. Yes, in a way he is dressed down.

Also, I just realized that writing Vivienne is amazing. You get to be as bitchy as you want!

I do have to say I love the detail of his metal arms. If you put him in armor, the metal has a lot of delicate filigree. Detailed, not hobo-ish filigree. I like to think of it as a subtle nod to his taste in the finer things.

I think the joke is entirely on the fashionistas.
Pretty sure he does know how to dress to impress (look at the damn use of colour in the paintings!) and one day we may well see him in his godly wardrobe...
In the meantime, it's all low profile.

Agreed. His battlemage mail - the one with the pelt - is pretty stylin. He has an eye for line and cut. Then that posture. He just makes things look good.
Also the adorable mug on his backpack is probably my most favorite thing ever.

Last week, I ordered some pairs of my favorite pants in white 'cause I wanted to custom dye them. Then, the idea came to me; What if a made one pair--wait for it--Fade Green?
So, I just got them today and I am going to get some dye tomorrow but, OMGSOEGGCITED!

My assumption was that the lack of fabulous hair and his shaggy clothes were more of a symbolic gesture. He's trying to throw off pride and not make the same mistakes that he once did. The finery would be trappings of an old life and a younger self.

Perhaps those were once fine? Goodness knows what 5000 years will do to any fabric!
