Solas is Lenin (a revolutionary but with a comfortable upbringing), to Sera's Bakunin (who also had a comfortable upbringing)... In fact most revolutionaries had a middle/upper class background.
What Solas doesn't seem to realise and perhaps IB does, is that if he is ultimately successful, he might well end up with something resembling... the Qun...

I definitely think he was upper class in his time and with a taste for fine things. I'd love to see him in his Arlathan style, I just hope it doesn't have anything to do with his choice of hat for the Winter Palace.

That's the same one I had him in for most of my last playthrough. He and my previous Lavellan had matching outfits. They were sickiningly adorable.I haven't gotten the schematic yet this playthrough, but I currently have him in the ring velvet version.

Full Disclosure: I totally fell for his "...THE FADE!" excuse. Was not suspicious at all. Looking back, I feel pretty dumb. Not only does he wear a wolf jawbone, I'm fairly sure the fur on his battlemage mail is a wolf pelt.

Same here, don't feel bad. My second playthrough I felt so silly, because the game is basically whacking us in the face with a sign that says "Something is up!" and I was just like "Oh, Mr Solas~" the first time. Same with Blackwall really. Neither of them made me suspicious until it was too late.
