Solas thread, why all the scary/sad things today? Not even going to comment on Mr. Weeke's laughter tweet. Fingers in ears *lalalala*

This made me happy but then I clicked on the first link of my collection of Fenris fics, and this was it:

http://loquaciousqua...eadcanon-i-dont

I hope whoever wrote this is working on a much longer story because their writing style is fantastic. Also w-why would you link that?! :crying:

I've imagined Dirthamen being something like the spymaster of the elven gods.  Imagine an organization of spies that can look into your dreams and find dissension.  And knowing you live in a society where you know you are always being watched, even in your dreams.  Anyone with serious thoughts of uprising probably wouldn't last long.

Dirth spying on dreams makes so much sense! Also: holy crap that's scary.

We know that Uthenera requires some preparation and care from the living, so I do agree with jellobell that it was probably not something available to everyone.

Hm... if that's true, who kept Solas alive for the past thousand years? (Please don't say Felassan and his ancestors)

I really hope the elven gods are super over the top. I would love a Gilgamesh-esque Falon'Din or Elgar'nan. Someone who is just totally aloof and sparkling.

That would be great!

Oh, I actually pictured the young Solas to share traits with Gilgamesh, like being prideful, defiant, sparkling, trollish sometimes and not bad at all as a god (maybe even having a heart of gold)!  :D

And I like to have a little Gilgamesh / Enkidu dynamic in my Solavellan romance ;)

Wait, I should add, not the Gilgamesh in the Epic before he met Enkidu, that one was ruthless.....I mean when he was on his good side.

I like my new inquisitor so far. I rushed through so I could get Blackwall. I think I'll try him first and see how it goes? In any case Im playing on Hard for the first time and it is a bit harder than I expected. Maybe I'll go back to normal lol. I hate these early levels after playing a lvl 25 character, I feel so sluggish and weak.

But we will see between Cullen and Blackwall. And I'm trying to not take Solas everywhere, but already I'm struggling not to. I never left without Solas any playthrough I've done so far. Its uncomfortable. I miss my Lavellan already :(

Just remember to get the best armor schematic available to you (that you like) asap, and to get fade touched obsidian when you can as well from the chest on the ship past the frostback dragon. Or in redcliffe when you can unlock those doors.

You should be fine then, as long as you know the most efficient builds for the characters you have. And that your party is decent. On harder difficulties, sometimes you gotta take who you need, not who you like.

I think I may join you in playing a new character, Avejajed. After all the good that's been said about Dorian, I've really wanted to try his romance. Plus it's been a while since I've actually played the game rather than just chatted about it, haha. Now to see if I can actually make an attractive male.  :pinched:

I'll probably need build help then. Since I normally play on the lower levels, I don't pay any attention to tactics or gear stats, beyond dps numbers.

I haven't used tactics at all so far, and I auto-level my companions. (I can already hear your *disgusted noise*).

I am playing another archer.

*stands up and looks around the thread*...My name is Zarro and I also only built houses in the Sims...and often had to challenge Death to a fiddle contest due to my sims burning to death.

lol

I built houses and did shirts and other things for Sims 3. My blog is still up but I haven't played Sims 3 for over a year. I think I'm finished with Sims for now, especially since Sims 4 got boring after the 3rd day after release.  <_<

EDIT: Ooooh top post, here is a pic of my Alex and Solas when they find Skyhold.

I made a guy last night, and will switch to him occasionally and I decide I don't like this one. He's for Dorian too I think.

Sigh, this is true... I was pretty jazzed about the "emotions" or whatever, but, the thrill died out fast.  I built some houses, got to the top of 3 career paths, and then... nothing. :/

Nothing as in, I just stare at it now, never updating, because why...?!

I haven't played as an archer and I don't generally use them really so with your character, I couldn't help on the build.

But I can help you with warriors. Cass, Iron Bull and Blackwall all need these abilities above all before specializations are added, and pretty much after too:

Bulls charge

Warcry

Unbowed/Still standing

Bulls charge saves my life all the time in tough fights. You damage your opponents, knock them down, build guard, gain better locations on the battlefield all in one move, and it gives you more leg room for strategy with the tac cam. My favorite ability early on.

Warcry is very important for them if you're playing an archer, or in general. It'll get the enemies off mages and such and build guard per enemy, so it's pretty vital.

And unbowed/Still standing I found to be pretty necessary for warriors since I don't give npcs shield wall. They don't use it properly and it's really meant for the player character with micromanaging or just straight playing themselves, which I don't do much beyond my own character. I do micromanage, but not that much... pain in the ass really, so save the skill slot. I do eventually get it just to have "The bear mauls the wolves" for them though. Passives are the best.

When going through the vanguard skill tree, generally I think you can just skip that whole right side altogether. The abilities, including challenge are very meh and to me not worth it. Avoid "untouchable defense" I believe it's called. The ability "increase max guard by 25" is glitched and sadly doesn't work....

I'm heading to bed. I just realized that both start and end my day with you guys. I'm literally here all day long. You guys are at work with me, when I'm home, at night when I play the game...

I'm not sure if I should feel ashamed about it or not lol.

I agree.

I was excited at first but then the more I read about what was going to be in the Sims 4 the more I was disappointed. But I told myself to buy and play the game first before I judged it.And how did it turn out?...Boooooooooring! smh.  :(

Even though with the lagging and bugs we had with Sims 3 it was so much funner.

I think somewhere Gaider commented once that he felt the writing was too pro-mage in Origins and too anti-Templar in 2.

I would agree with that assessment.  Honestly I think they did the best job of the Mage/Templar thing in Asunder.  Even though the situation at the White Spire was completely and utterly FUBAR, there were sympathetic characters on all sides, and the conflict was more than the simplistic pro-mage or pro-templar stuff.  Rhys and Evangeline did a really, really good job of characterizing what "normal" mages and templars, for lack of a better phrase, would think and do.  It was good to see more of the storyline than just the extremists (Anders, Meredith, etc.)

I have a warrior Lavellan and I love her! I tied her warrior class in to her backstory, which is posted on my profile.

Well, thank you! I'm planning on doing some fanfic centered around her, but I started this play through recently and I'm still in Haven, so I don't want to start until I figure out more about her than just her childhood. I have some ideas, though. Hopefully good ones.

So while we wait for DLC (hopefully a Wolf Hunt or Fall of Arlathan one), what are you guys playing besides Inquisition?

I think am at a point where the canon Lavellan I'm currently playing will be my last playthrough. I have two other finished ones.

At least until we get more DLC. I feel a bit burned out playing the game but then again, I'm not one to do more than 2-3 playthroughs per game.

I still have Divinity: Original Sin to finish (pretty good game so far) and Dark Souls II (which apparently indicates I love to suffer). I'm also trying to finish Baldur's Gate, which for a much older games is pretty good if not flippin' impossible at times. I also have on the horizon The Witcher 3, which I'm excited about and probably Bloodborne and FF Type-O HD sound promising.

----------------

Have a sleepy Solas!
