Flemeth strikes me as the type to employ subterfuge, but that might be a product of her circumstances rather than Mythal's original personality. Maybe when the other gods turned on her, they were already corrupted by the Blight. One by one, after Andruil brought it back from the Void (or whatever happened), they all fell victim to its madness. Fen'Harel wasn't corrupted because he stood apart from the rest of the pantheon, and so he had nothing to do with Mythal's murder.
I definitely think the majority of them would have been already consumed by blight before they turned. I am not so sure they were all that great of people to begin with, but Fen'Harel did what he did to 'save' them, not kill them or trap them in some sort of living hell. I think he must have thought that a cure could be found at some point. Or some way to sever their minds from whatever was controlling them.
But, I do think Flemeth is the shadier personality. Mythal was the mother, the protector. I don't think she was naive, but that seems more like an 'upfront' sort of person. Betrayal can change a person.
