....well. I understand Kieran better now.
In "The Stolen Throne"...
Spoiler
I'm laughing a bit because I'd never even considered the Maric + Flemeth = Morrigan angle. When the possibility of an incestuous dark ritual came up (ala Mordred) came up, it didn't quite connect either; you see, I always make Kieran's father Loghain. My Mahariel could have done it, but he and Zevran kind of just wave Loghain off to Morrigan cheerfully. I may be a bad person.
Random question but one I can't really come up with an answer to.
How tall do you think Solas is? I mean, there's no real way to measure but if you had to guess.
We can guess how much he weighs too!
He's not exactly a big guy but he's pretty solid for an elf.

I was never good at the weight guessing game at theme parks. The best way to guess is to look at doors. How tall is Solas compared to a door? hmmm but then again there are 4 body types in the game and Solas is a mix of human and elf.

The Zevran situation never fails to make me laugh. ![]()
However, wasn't there a dev note entry about Morrigan being nineteen or so at the time of Origins? She does come across as being a bit..nineteenish. ![]()
She'd have to be 35 at the time of Origins for her to have been born from Flemeth and Maric's meeting, as that takes place shortly after Moira's assassination, yes?

Mm, I believe the time frame for the hut meeting could only be a few days from the assassination. At least it read that way, haha. Also, I've even read cases for Morrigan to be slightly younger than the possible 19 at one point...so we can probably conclude that Morrigan would be too young, though it's an interesting theory nonetheless. This reminds me of all those bloodline theories in A Song of Ice and Fire, haha. Love stuff like this.

I'm guessing about 5 foot 7. He's basically as tall as Cassandra in the game. There isn't a lot of variation in body types for resource reasons, but I'd guess Cassandra would probably be pretty tall. 5'8 or 5'9.
Weight? Idk anything about that. Supposedly 180 is about average for men who are 6 feet tall. Maybe ... 150 for Solas? I'm not totally sure what the weight per inch proportions are.
No, no, that's gross. She showed him a vision of the Blight and made him promise to bring the Wardens back to Ferelden. Her plan was the OGB.
That and to get Maric to go and help wake up the dragons that Flemytal's other daugther was looking after, if I remember the comic correctly.
Woah..I spelled Maric wrong....oops.. lol. I dunno...I hope I am wrong...because yeah..that is gross.
So I have a question for y'all because I love seeing other people's Lavellans and their stories.
How did your Lavellans adjust to being part of (and eventually leading) the human-centric Inquisition? How did they handle things like religion, cultural assimilation (if any), homesickness, etc. It's a topic I find interesting because of all the PCs, Lavellan strikes me as the most fish out of water, and the game's prologue unfortunately didn't have time to address it.
My Lavellan, Clariel, was scared as f*** at first. She didn't hate or fear humans in general, but being surrounded by a bunch of unfamiliar faces while the world was ending was not a good way to start. It's part of why she spent so much time with Solas; for all his grumping at the Dalish, it's natural to gravitate to anything remotely familiar in that situation. She spent a lot of time at Haven reading and absorbing as much knowledge about her new world as possible. Learning helped her get her bearings, and definitely held the fear at bay.
By the time they got to Skyhold, she'd become very fond of the people in the Inquisition. After she started seeing them less as strangers and more as friends, she adjusted pretty readily apart from minor quirks (feeling out-of-place in the fancy Inquisitor's quarters, having servants and staff, etc.) Somewhere around Halamshiral, she started realizing she could never really go back. She loves her family and her clan, but she can't just up and leave, even after Corypheus is defeated. Some things still make her really upset and uncomfortable: the whole Herald of Andraste thing, the way the Orlesians fetishize her people, occasional bouts of missing her parents and cousins (especially after Solas leaves).
All I can say is my Lavellan's are more of a people person... ![]()
So they do their best to get along with the people of the Inquisition.
Oh god...Kieran....*sniffs* Smells like Alabama in here.

I attempted to measure him in comparison to my Lavellan against other characters. He's almost as tall as Blackwall... not quite, but like you said, it's hard to measure. He's definitely shorter than Cullen. Cullen is pretty tall.Random question but one I can't really come up with an answer to.

No idea about exact measurements but he seems to be about the same height or taller than Cassandra, who is also described as tall. So maybe he is whatever is considered medium-ish height for humans, but is really tall for an elf. Going by the standards for modern elves, of course.
I'm also very very bad at guessing weight, so I don't have a real answer there.

Alabama is a beautiful state. I merely jest about the memetic assumption that back country Southerners are inbred.

Throwing my guess in here, too. He actually seems a bit taller than Cass in this picture. Almost as tall as Dorian. I don't think he breaks 6', but I'd say he's at least 5'10. As for weight, I'd put it at 150-160.

While there's a lull in the conversation, in two weeks I'm going on a wilderness survival trip where we "survive" three days and two nights out in the woods with nothing but the clothes on our backs and the blankets, and small pots and pans we can fit in our backpacks. No electronics, artificial lights, matches, lighters, or anything like that. We'll make fire from scratch, boil water from a nearby creek, cook flatbread 'cakes' from whole grain flour in our packs on flat stones over the fire, etc. We'll bring a few odds and ends like mixed nuts and little personalized first aide kits, but otherwise? Nill.
I have a feeling before it's over I'll have a greater appreciation/understanding of what Solas' life was like as a "hobo apostate" who wandered the wilderness avoiding human settlements and camped out in ruins to dream.
Oh cool, I've been interested in doing something like that, but a.) my bed, and b.) I would die. Be sure to keep a journal to jot down your thoughts and then share any goodies with us! Especially as they relate to Solas' apostate hobo glory.
Edit: Accidental emoticon. Fixed!

WHAT'S WITH THE CAPS?

Okay. But that's happened in several southern states not just Alabama. Also most people here in the south don't do that any more....ew. That's like 60 to 100 years ago.
Wow. I really don't see anything funny about it or the need of it to be brought up especially when my State is the main of the joke if this is a joke...but ya'll go ahead and laugh if you want.
