See that's the thing..I don't ever hear of jokes of Kentucky or other southern states. I have seen jokes of my State but my neighbors,no.

Maybe that's why I'm being so defensive...

Try not to take this thread too seriously. I know we've accidentally offended you and your faith before, and now you and your state.

Nobody here is out to get you, I promise. :)

In my experience, all the southern states are pretty interchangeable in those jokes.

And thanks for the height guesses, guys! They're all so different and I still can't decide haha!

That's what we are here for, to confuse you more!

5'7"!? :o I thought elves were supposed to be short...

I'm 5'4". Guess I'm a dwarf in Thedas then.

I wish they took more after Tolkien elves and ended up tall and slender instead of short and slender, it just makes them look less ethereal and more childish.

Actually, some are on average taller than humans, depending on the lore. Elves were never short

Now...California? That's my favorite place on earth. Third favorite place on earth. Disneyland is my favorite place on earth so I guess technically it's tied, and anyway I love love love California but I suppose you could make any number of jokes about it having the measles or whatever lol.

It's also soul-suckingly expensive and I'm probably going to die of lung cancer a decade before the rest of you thanks to all the pollution.  But hey, it was beautiful today, and I had lunch in a t-shirt outside in the sunshine

I came across the following snippet when researching Maori tattoos:

"You may lose your most valuable property through misfortune in various ways . . . your house, your weaponry, your spouse, and other treasures. You may be robbed of all that you cherish. But of your moko (tattoos), you cannot be deprived, except by death. It will be your ornament and your companion until your final day."

It is soul-sucking expensive. Thats why I moved back to Indiana. But I miss it much. I mean maybe i dont miss Anaheim itself that much but...California in general.

My best guess, thinking of the varying heights of the characters compared with people I know in real life, I'd say 5'10", 5'11" tops. Weighing 160lbs-ish? Maybe a touch less? Cass to me looks like she could be as tall as 5'11" when compared with the human guys, who seem to be 6' and up, and Solas does seem to be close to or equal to her height.

Would this make Lavellan like 5'7"-ish? I'm jealous of everyone's height. Excuse me while all 5'2" of me returns to my hobbit hole.

5'7" is an average human female height. and pretty tall for an elven woman. My husband says female elves are more likely to be around 5'5" or so. (he plays a lot of D&D). She seems pretty average. I figured Cass was somewhere between 5'9" and 5'10" and I could see Solas being about that as well. 4 or so inches taller than Lavellan seems about right.

I thought the average human female height was around 5'5. In America at least. I think 5'5 is pretty tall for a female elf, that considered. I pictured Lavellan around 5'2 or 5'3 personally.

Georgia's state drink is Coke and if it's not coke, they call soft drinks coke. That's also were rappers are born. Also what is the state like outside of Atlanta?

I'm rusty on US history but Alabama will always be remembered as that backwards place who resisted civil rights.  It may not have been better than it's neighbors but it was still the center of attention at the time. So even today anything that is seen as lack of progression is looked through a magnifying glass. Alabama will the butt of jokes until it radically change.

Not a neighbor but my favorite weird state is Florida. Would never live there but I enjoy the crazy stories from there.

Unless you're from dumb old Texas.

We have notoriously bad drivers, so there's that. Also, my husband (who is from Georgia) tells me everyone here speaks too quietly.

Bless his heart.

This is how tall I was picturing my Lavellan too, though that's probably because I'm barely 5'0 myself in real life. If Solas is 5'7 to 6'0, that's quite the height difference. I love height differences, haha.

Well you wouldn't be missing much. Vacations are fine, but otherwise it's full of old people and bugs the size of your hand. Walking outside in the summer is like hitting a brick wall. It's sticky and sweaty and the grass is sharp and yuck. There are rodents and snakes and palmetto bugs and love bugs and these giant yellow grasshoppers that suck so so so much.

I kind of like that the elves are tiny, while Solas, Abelas, and the Sentinels are tall and more ethereal.

It really rubs in just how far they've fallen. Used to their gods walked among them, handing out Wheaties every morning, ensuring their followers grew up big and strong. Now, not so much. They've degraded culturally, magically, politically, and physically.

I remember from my stats class that average female height is between 5'5" and 5'8". Elves are supposed to be a bit shorter than humans, but the only thing I have to go on is the D&D handbook, which says between 5'2" and 5'7" so I would say that your estimation is completely en pointe. Before speaking to my husband, I guessed her height to be about 5'3" as well.

Too bad they don't have some kind of in game measuring system.

Hey! My Lavellan's name is Tala, too! *fist bump*

I picked it cuz' of the Native American meaning being wolf, which I thought fitting due to her role as a huntress, coupled with the wolf on the rogue tarot card. And this was before I knew anything of Solas' true identity. Pfff. It hits me right on the irony bone.

Plus, it's a pretty name. :3

(Still catching up to the thread and I'm currently having a haircut :P)

*fistbumps* :D Mine is a huntress too. xD

I picked that name because I wanted something related to my culture. :) 'Tala' is the goddess of the stars in Philippine mythology and her name also means "bright star" in Tagalog. If ever I make a tarot card for my Lavellan, I'd probably use The Star tarot card as a basis for the design.

I find it interesting that her name has other meanings in different languages. Apparently it means "palm tree" in Arabic and "gold" in Persian. :P

*goes back to catching up on the thread*

The Google says 5'5 or 5'4 or 5'3. I don't know how trustworthy it is, though. All I know is that I'm 5'8 and I've always been told I'm tall for a woman!

Anyways, I love knowing little mundane facts like that but the devs probably never even thought about it. Apparently they never even pegged down ages and that baffles me because when I create a character, I always have an exact age in mind. It helps!

I give up. I was going to romance Blackwall but I can't even, so I'm just gonna start creating new elves till I find one I love as much as Revas.

Maybe I should take a few days off the game anyway to reset. Lol. My head is still in her story.
