Used to their gods walked among them, handing out Wheaties every morning, ensuring their followers grew up big and strong.

No wonder why they rebelled.  Wheaties are gross.

The Google says 5'5 or 5'4 or 5'3. I don't know how trustworthy it is, though. All I know is that I'm 5'8 and I've always been told I'm tall for a woman!

Anyways, I love knowing little mundane facts like that but the devs probably never even thought about it. Apparently they never even pegged down ages and that baffles me because when I create a character, I always have an exact age in mind. It helps!

I don't usually have an exact age in mind, but I think they do it to be sort of vague for everyone, especially the LI's.

If you're 19, you're cool with Cullen being 25 or whatever, but if you're....30ish (ahem)...maybe you imagine Cullen to be 35.

I mean obviously Blackwall and Solas are older, but I think they dont nail them down to give us RP wiggle room.

I'm also 5'8" and I have been told the same thing. We are on the tall side of average. Statistically speaking, the same size as a man who is 6'1". Men who are 6'1" are often also told the are tall. And they are. Size is subjective. Most women are shorter than you, so even if you are average, you're still going to be considered tall to them. However, some women who are 6' get offended when a woman who is 5'9" claims to be tall, though technically that is true. It isn't true for the small percentage of women who are taller. Does that make sense?

My brother is 6'6". His baby momma is like, 5'2" on a good day. Lol. It's hilarious.

We were all worried for her when she was pregnant with Maddox because my brother was 12 lbs 15 Oz born and we thought Maddox would be that big too. He wasnt and she's glad.

My Lavellan's feelings on the vallaslin: "Do you know how much this **** hurt to get on my face? I wandered around in the freezing cold to earn these things!"

Also, I think part of her loves the idea of throwing the slavery thing back in the face of anyone who would try to use it against her.

I kind of like that the elves are tiny, while Solas, Abelas, and the Sentinels are tall and more ethereal.

It really rubs in just how far they've fallen. Used to their gods walked among them, handing out Wheaties every morning, ensuring their followers grew up big and strong. Now, not so much. They've degraded culturally, magically, politically, and physically.

I have a feeling there might have been a darker reasoning for elves getting less tall, less strong. They spent a long time in slavery. :[ Probably a lot of the stronger elves were weeded out when they refused to submit.

Georgia's state drink is Coke and if it's not coke, they call soft drinks coke. That's also were rappers are born. Also what is the state like outside of Atlanta?

I'm rusty on US history but Alabama will always be remembered as that backwards place who resisted civil rights.  It may not have been better than it's neighbors but it was still the center of attention at the time. So even today anything that is seen as lack of progression is looked through a magnifying glass. Alabama will the butt of jokes until it radically change.

Not a neighbor but my favorite weird state is Florida. Would never live there but I enjoy the crazy stories from there.

I agree on equal rights that was a long time ago though and people need to move on just like Jewish people have moved on... I and a lot of others had nothing to do with what happened then so I don't appreciate people whipping out the race card nowadays. (I'm not talking about you btw)  :P

Try not to take this thread too seriously. I know we've accidentally offended you and your faith before, and now you and your state.

Nobody here is out to get you, I promise. :)

Well thank you,and I'm glad.  :)

And I'll do my best. ^^

Random question but one I can't really come up with an answer to.

How tall do you think Solas is? I mean, there's no real way to measure but if you had to guess.

We can guess how much he weighs too!   He's not exactly a big guy but he's pretty solid for an elf.

Having been an athlete, and standing 5'8" myself, I am going to toss my guess out at about 5'9" -5'10" height-wise, and 165-175 #, in weight. When I was doing centuries (100 mile bike rides), I weighed in at 168 pounds. Yup. Full on admit. And I was the fittest I had ever been in my life. :) (38 yrs old at the time)

Solas seems "godly" fit...*ahem*...So I would say that isn't terribly far off. ;)

I would agree with this assessment. That's about what I had estimated, myself.

What is your guess for Lavellan? I'd say...5'7'' maybe? It's really difficult for me to guess this stuff, since I'm only 5'1'' myself.

Well, at 45yrs and a number of irrating injuries later, I am hard pressed to do so myself.

Actually, with the weather here in PNW (PDX, @Caddius *thumbsup!*), being practically "spring-like", it's high time for me to get back on my bikes. I predict a sore crotch in my future. Got more junk in the trunk to weigh down on that narrow seat, now. :pinched: :D

I'd say Lavellan is typical elf height. 5'3? IIRC the average modern human women height is 5'6, so elves would be a bit shorter than that.

Yup, same here. It's one reason I hate to wear heels. If I lived in Thedas I'd be too tall to be an elf.

Edit: I figure Solas to be shorter than me by a couple inches. I'm very bad at guessing height though.

Hmm . . . for some reason my Lavellan seemed taller (but more spindly) than my Tabris, who I headcanoned to be 5'3''. So somewhere in the 5'5'' to 5'6'' range (and on further reflection because of height differences, I'd imagine Solas is maybe more like 5'8'' to 5'10'' ish).

I'm 5'4'' myself, but all the guys in my family are over six feet, and I think that warps my perception of "average" heights sometimes. :D

I'm terrible at using this measuring method anyway, since I'm from Germany. But isn't 5'3'' very short, compared to Solas? I always thought she must be at least 5'5'' - so a bit smaller than a human, but not terribly so.

I know how you feel. My brothers are around six feet tall. Me I'm puny. 5'2"...... -_-

also I think Lavellan is around 5'6"...just a guess.

Based on the difference we see in-game (which does seem to vary), I would guess anywhere between 5'5" and 5'7". That seems like a pretty broad guess, but it can be difficult to imagine, due to the changes in certain scenes, throughout the game. I personally headcanon my Lavellan's right around the size I mentioned. Freya (Mage, 32yrs) = 5'5", Ulee (DW Rogue, 35yrs) = 5'7", Ari (S&S, 40 yrs) = 5'5", and my newly created Bronte (Mage, 31yrs) = 5'6". Probably all taller than the average female elf, but there it is. ;)
