*cries* Writing stuff about people being naked is apparently impossible for me to do while my husband has friends over. I thought I would be able to finish this tonight and simply edit tomorrow. I have so little left to go... but no. It is nearly 3AM and I don't think my husband's friend will be leaving any time soon. The rest will just have to wait until tomorrow.
Writing stuff about people naked is always difficult!
I got off to a good start and then all that crappy self-doubt began to creep in... so you have my sympathy and, yeah, the presence of certain peeps can be rather blocking...

That book seems worth the read.
On a side note... the world outside is ugly. Full of stupid threads and stupid people.
And I did not even leave Story, Campaign & Characters yet. Nowhere is as good as here. I love you all.

It's pretty stupid in parts...
But hey, so are lots of books... And that's just my opinion anyway.

Hello you lovely Solas peeps. Just thought I would add to the thread to push it to 3000. I read this thread every day but can't keep up with your speedy typing skills. My contributions:
That one scene everyone has a pic of:
My Solavellan theme song:
And here are the lyrics so you can cry even harder:
And I slink back to lurk mode...

I've been venturing into Scuttlebutt more recently, but I've got my sarcasm and inability to sugar coat to back me up when things get rough and then I run back here to hide.

I find it amazing that people can hate on a game for days on end. Generally when I dislike a game, I just move on.

I should point out I don't think the book is terrible (it really is though)...and I applaud her (and Cassandra Clare) for being one of the fanfiction writing shipping masses who has shifted out of that to try to write for real.
It's like if someone wrote dom!Solas fic, took away the setting, the elves, the godhood and whatever else that makes it special and someone makes a movie out of it.

And those people spend their time expressing just how much they hate the game in anyway they can.
Definitely need your **** boots when venturing to other parts of the forums.

But... just look at the Calling thread. How do you stand such things? That's what made the Wardens go nutters, I am sure now. They probably had to hear the same thing over and over again with every new Blight. "Ah... no, not you again. We already had that, Blight and stuff, blah blah. Who cares where it comes from or what it is. Give us something new and funky." Maybe fighting zombies? Or a one man army commando in some world war. Or, another cool idea, a gang rivalry. Just... no Wardens, no Darkspawn, no mythology and not the same old Thedas politics. Anything else is fine.

No, yeah, absolutely. Good on E.L. James, she should be canonized the patron saint of FF writers everywhere!

"Making the beast with two backs", however, is something I shall incorporate in my set of fondly repeated phrases. As I assume nobody will understand it anyway, it is a line for every occasion.
I don't really see how what I just read should have ever been embedded in any sort of setting whatsoever though. It all rather seems like one very special colorful butterfly to me. In dark, dark unexplored places.

This is my favorite:
"I PLAYED THIS GAME FOR 100 HOURS AND IT WAS GARBAGE. IT WAS BORING FROM START TO FINISH! WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!"
I'm so confused!!! Why did you keep playing it then?

You just don't quite get it, right? Gosh, it's so clear, I shan't even bother explain it to you.
Alright, I will anyway:
You buy a game and don't like it. Then you buy the DLC to it and don't like it because it extends the topic. Then you buy the books and graphic novels, which - again - focus on the same overall setting. So you buy the next game and don't like it again, the next DLC, the next books and so on. See? It does make sense if you only get behind the logic once: it has to get better and pick up another topic some time.

Just don't talk about it on Tumblr. People have strong opinions there. Strong, strong opinions.

You mean "the optional multiplayer which I tested with all my friends up to level 63".
Recently I feel like walking hand in hand with Cullen wherever I go: "No. This is ridiculous."

I thought of a hundred things to add after I was done, but by then you have to know your limits of how funny you are. ![]()
It's like a cycle...kind of funny, really funny, really freaking hilarious...eh, still funny but you're pushing it, I'd stop now if I were you, yep you lost the funny, should have stopped when you were ahead.
I need a chart.

The funny thing is, there are actual, legitimate complaints to be made about this game. Real ones. I've seen them I swear! In fact I've even made them. AND YET, for most it's like "I will never give money to EAWARE again because REASONS" *preorders Me4 $500 EA profit box*
