I think it's supposed to creep me out but I'm pretty sure I'm super aroused now.
Now this doesn't surprise me at all.

It's by the same guy who did Pan's Laberynth, so it probably has a similar feel. I didn't find it creepy at all, then again, I watched it on my phone. You guys I have a problem.
I watched this trailer.

I love anything by Del Toro. He's done some great ghost stories. I highly recommend 'The Devil's Backbone'.

I agree with you. Del Toro has a gift with horror; his ghost stories tend to be lyrically beautiful and horrifying all at once. While as films they don't always work 100%, they're always worth seeing.
Here is a thing I did last night. If I am going to share it, I would rather it be with you beautious people.
Process: I just got done completing a rousing application to an exhibition, and thought writing smut might be a fun, new past time for my addled brain. Started working on a piece I had in my back pocket. And it become not smut. At all.
Trigger warning: potential hellspiral
Best read with a glass of your finest boxed wine or grape-juice or a smoothie. Not tea. After reading you may want to listen to "Nirvana: Unplugged." (Imagining Kurt in Dalish armor is recommended but not required).
Also, I clearly wasn't prepared to write a summary. Three words.
Edited for smoothies.
That is some beautiful writing.
The sadness of it all is only bearable by how artfully you crafted it...
Hi, I'm a fan. ![]()
So I'm looking up the word "lethallin/llan", which is taken to mean kinsman. We know "lin" to mean blood, with "lan" denoting a feminine form, I assume. Any ideas what "leth" means?
Some guesses are: same (same blood=kinsman) or shared (shared blood=kinsman)

The dalish insult "seth'lin" means thin blood, no doubt given to either one who has turned away from dalish customs, or a half-elf. My guess is "leth" could possibly mean what you said, same blood or full blood, perhaps strong blood?

My particular favourite was Hellboy II there were some beautiful romances in it, and a showdown with clockwork monsters...

So, I got done dyeing my pants! Sorry for the bad quality. It's off of my phone and the mirror was dusty.
Also, check out my fat ass elven orbs.
It didn't dye them perfectly, but that's okay cause it ended up looking more like the fade in the way that the intensity of the green moves around the place. In case anyone was wondering, I used liquid rit dye (half a bottle of kelly green and about 3-4 tablespoons of lemon yellow. If I did it again, I would probably go with the dark green dye because it's a bit lighter than I wanted.
So, there was my Solas-ish post of the day. Tata!
I like your shirt, Rebby..it's so shiny!!
Anybody feel like a chat? My hand is cramping from taking notes on codexes lol.

Oh yeah, that's my fancy tank top.
The light from the sequins are actually bouncing onto the computer screen as I type this.
On another note, my cosplaying friend says she's playing DA2. I don't even think she has played Orgins but if she gets on Inquisition I will trick persuade her into romancing Solas. Because, you know, that's what friends do; we encourage each other to share in our hellspiral.

dat butt no but just hhaha joking
Looks amazing!! Love it!!!!
I tend to prefer the first Hellboy film as well, although the second one is absolutely gorgeous visually.
I'm a big reader of the comics and the short stories, so the films have always been a bit strange. I liked the first one overall, but it is hard to rationalize the continuity I have in my head with the one of the films. Particularly Abe's characterization and Hellboy/Liz's romance. But at least the latter they handle a bit better than the former.

This. I love both and am constantly amazed that I love them as much as I do. They are just solid.
I think the 2nd film is my favorite - just that whole melancholy story over the loss of...the magic. The loss of the 'other'. There were so many parts of that movie where I was just gutted. The tree spirit. Proto-Babelas giving his melancholy speeches.
Happy Valentine's Day(Early) - http://archiveofouro...hapters/7021511
Solas/F!Trev - Post canon - I just like this pairing.
Ah! I'm the weirdo who prefers the first one. It had some of the best lines - "My uncle used to say that we like people for their qualities but we love them for their defects."
Oh, oh, and this one: "What makes a man a man? A friend of mine once wondered. Is it his origins? The way he comes to life? I don't think so. It's the choices he makes. Not how he starts things, but how he decides to end them."
And my favorite moment is when Hellboy talks to Liz, telling her that he loves her, that... That he wishes he could do something about THIS - and he just gestures to his face and you just feel his heartbreak at being different in a way no person could ever overlook. And yet, he still wants her. And if HE is enough, for her, can't that be enough? Forever? It was the best moment of vulnerability ever.
I do think the film could have been edited to be a bit more crisp in it's pacing, but I'm super nitpicky about staying succinct. As you can imagine the new Hobbit films are torture for me.
BUT from an art stand point - Hellboy taught me how important it is to switch color temperature. Seriously, go watch the film again. He always juxtaposes a warm scene with a cool one. Moving from hot yellows, golds, reds, and olives to cool midnight blues. It's a beautiful film just to watch for color progression and theory on its own. Whomever was in charge of the color scripting was a genius.
No, I must insist Liza, the person who prefers the second one is surely the more awkward... Besides Hellboy II had the troll market...

That was what I liked about it too. I find myself very drawn to stories about "what was lost," so to speak. There's something beautiful and wrenching about amazing things disappearing forever, whether it's the loss of magic ("the other") or knowledge (as in history), etc.
