Was anyone else really surprised with how their canon Lavellan turned out in the end?
I was originally intending to make a very pale, blonde haired elf that was reminiscent of a really old character of mine. Someone very sweet and noble. Barrier and spirit type magics. Very elfy.
I ended up making a snarky, red headed knight enchanter. I almost want to have my second playthrough with her as a warrior. I liked DA:O's version of the arcane warrior a bit better in terms of style.
I think Solas is left handed, since he always seem to put armor on his left arm ._.
It's the same on my xbox one, and I have a nice sized flatscreen.I don't know if it was the Xbox, my TV screen or the darker skin and hair my Lavellan has, but I could never get any good screenshots of my Inquisitors from this section like everyone else seems to. It's way too dark and you can barely see her.
I kept looking at her because I was very pleased, except for the hair, but she came out so pretty. Freckles, purple eyes, dark makeup. I'm on my laptop, so no screens here, but I took extra screens of her face because I kept thinking about how pretty she came out. Not ethereal or anything, still fitting into the world, but just a pretty elf who could slice you up from the shadows.

I should grab some screens of my Tala. She's such a weird little bad-ass.

I wanted something that reminded me of the DAII elves. I love how they look so different from humans.
Edit, looks like I'm on ToP!

Me too, after all the complaints I understand why BW went with ultra skinny DAO elves but I liked that they looked like a race in their own right in DA2 not just short humans with pointy ears.

In a way I'm glad we didn't see any of our elf friends from DAII. I don't want to think about what they'd do to Fenris ![]()

I'll be honest ... I did NOT like the elf redesign in DA2. Not at all.
I'm definitely way too much in love with my warrior Lavellan, Lenalas. Never thought I'd end up with a butch hardcore warrior with an affection for heavy make-up as my canon character.

When I first made my Tala, she looked a bit waiflike in CC and thought she looked like she belonged to a Final Fantasy game. xD
(Here be cellphone pics I took since I'm on PS3)
Then when she got out of CC, I was a bit concerned that she looked a bit funny.
^^^I was like, "What's up with her eyes?"
Then after hours of playing the game, I can't stop admiring her cute little face.
I love how she sometimes looks so young, and other times she looks more mature, depending on the lighting and angle.
(Here be picspam of my Tala)
I love her cute little "angry" face when she walks around town or out in the field.
And of course, my personal favorite -- derp face Tala. ![]()
I just love her so much! She's friendly, mischievous, child-like, and compassionate so it hurts to see her heartbroken near the end. ![]()

I have a love-hate thing for the DA2 redesign for the elves. I get that they're trying to make them look less like short humans with pointed ears, especially since in DAO I sometimes mistaken the elf females for human females most especially when they use hairstyles that cover their pointed ears. Heck, I mean Fenris, Merrill, and Orsino (IMO) look great in DA2. And I must say even minor elven NPCs like Athenril and Lia look pretty as well.
But then all the other DA2 elves in general look too odd for my taste. Look what happened to Zevran! And don't get me started on Tallis. Her looking like a DA2 elven Felicia Day is a bit too weird IMO. ![]()
I can't imagine how Solas would look like if they stuck with the DA2 design. ![]()

Thanks!
I didn't notice the derp face on my first PT. I first noticed it when I played my second PT with my Trev so now on my Hard replay of my Lavellan PT, I decided to take a picture of that moment. xD

I LOATH the DA2 elf designs.
Besides, no one ever complains about dwarves looking like "short and stout humans," yet people have a problem with elves looking like "short humans with pointed ears?" Why, among all the races that "look like X humans with Y features" are only ELVES supposed to look completely unique and inhuman? Why the tall order for one race and not another? Especially since the DA2 elves looked so bizarre? (Do the people who want DA2 elf designs actually want to play as them, or have them look like fantasy background decoration while they play as humans?)

Provided they didn't have rushed model design, I'd be perfectly happy to play as a DA2 elf. Merrill was beautiful.

I admit, some looked good. A few. Fenris and Merrill were the best looking elves in DA2 in my opinion. However, many looked hideous to me. So I, personally, am rather glad they went back for DAI.
I don't know but I'll help out!

To be honest, I think the ones that looked the best also looked the most "human." =/ Why not cut the middle man and just make the elves look like thin, angular, stylized humans to begin with, instead of goat people that have to be reworked to look more "fawn-like"?
Fenris and Merrill were the most "normal looking" of the DA2 designed elves which is why people find them good looking.
Yeah I wasn't a fan of the redesign either. I'm so glad Solas still looks very unique and elfy but not like a DA2 elf. I imagine we won't be seeing him in a different engine anytime soon so we won't have to cringe at redesigns.
Found this on Tumblr. Voice impressions of Male Dragon Age Love Interests sending Valentine's Messages! Pretty good for the most part! Solas' is a bit too short though. My favorites would have to be Varric, Fenris, Cullen, and Tamlen (they actually added Tamlen, OMG!).
EDIT: And Zevran! How could I forget... Zevran's was great!

I suggest giving this a listen. I was pretty entertained! ![]()

And qunari are pretty much just tall humans with grey skin and horns. And they don't even have to have the horns.
