Ah pretty sad about the delay... :( but also paradoxically happy, I'm sure the game will be amazing once it's ready :)

Clearly a Solas romance is being added in the final month :P Just kidding, I'm sure they have their hands full with bug fixes... I've spent all morning trying to make one function in a statistical analysis script behave & it just didn't want to happen so I can't imagine what a character-shaped bundle of functions would do to me :D

They just have to fix the bugs with the Solas romance in the last month.  :P

And add 10 new Solas romance scenes. We all know that's REALLY what this extra month is for.  ;)

That's why we've been dreaming about him. It's a bug, reaching out over the internet, trying to tell us something!

I thought that was because he is a dreamer. Oh! Solas you dirty boy!

I just like the idea that Vivienne may make some snide comment to his face about being a hedge mage and his lack of proper training and Solas will respond in a way that you know is a really clever put down but she just doesn't realise it and stalks off thinking she has won the argument.   It is things like that which amuse me.

I remember in DAO that I deliberately asked Zevran to take on Loghain, mostly because I knew he would take him down without any nonsense, which he did.   However, I also saw the irony of setting Zevran on him, so when Zevran asked if anyone noticed, I really wanted to be able to say "Yes, why do you think I asked?"

I also liked the irony of Fenris falling for my female mage, begging her not to die and helping us save the mages.

So I'm hoping that at some point Solas saves Vivienne's snooty a** and she has to acknowledge it.   I like irony.

So, the twitter thread has been looking over this screenshot.

(It's a big picture, so it's under the spoiler tag.)

Spoiler

It looks really interesting, I wonder what kind of place would feature a giant Fen'Harel head overlooking everything, considering the Dalish prefer to have him looking away.  Could it be Arlathan era, or maybe something more recent?

What really caught my attention tho is that the statues are bald elves.  I know some people think there might be some meaning to bald elves in DA:I, but I hadn't given much thought to it because we haven't seen many elves in general yet.  But since seeing this picture I'm beginning to wonder.  Was the bald look a cultural thing for ancient elves?  Or is it an identifying look for a modern elven group?  Or maybe both?  And if so, is Solas involved with this?

Because that logo I'm supposed to working on is totally going to make itself...

Ooooo...I hadn't seen this screen before, that does present interesting questions! I wonder if we won't get any of the answers until we're ingame, though.

You know what it could be? Solas sees things in the past, right? Well, maybe he got a glimpse of the elves of old and a lot of them had no hair. So he shaved his own head to replicate them.

I expect we won't.  Really can't wait to check that place out.  :)

Considered that possibility too.  Would be kinda neat if that's what he's doing.

What ever the significance of the bald head, I'm sure there is one and hopefully Solas will fill us in.    As for the location and the Fen'Harel head, may be he will help with that as well.   Most of what the Dalish teach about their gods is a combination of old folk tales and what they have picked up from looking around old ruins.   Afterall a lot of their folk law about Fen'Harel is linked to an explanation of why their gods abandoned them, for which he seems to have been given the blame.  Now it may well be that the old elves each followed a different god and that there was a cult of Fen'Harel.    In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Felassan belonged to such a clan or knew about them.     The tale of the slow arrow is particularly interesting since it could be taken as an analogy of what happened with Arlathen, the beast being Tevinter , the parents being the old elves who perished and the children being later elves who were aided by Fen'Harel and thus saved.

A slight deviation here; did anyone else think it odd that if there is a tale among the Dalish of how a dog scared away Fen'Harel, they don't keep dogs with them if they really fear him?    It seems to me that the Dalish are very anxious not to offend the trickster god.

Yeah... been pretty quiet in here, save for the usual 'waiting on info' and 'reasons we love Solas' chatter  :)

Hopefully we'll have some new stuff to talk about over the weekend!

Hope Solas makes the fade part of the game less of a drag in Inquisition. Playing through it for the 100th time on origins right now and I am practically trying to get through it as quick as possible. That said what does everyone think the Fade will be like with Solas? Hopefully no repetitive shapeshifting will be involved

It's be interesting if Solas and the Inquisitor seem to have entirely separate experiences at the same time. Like, walking through the Fade, the Inquisitor sees the creepy fog and an eerie glow, and Solas sees a pleasant mist with soft lights. But they're both in the same place.

I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed visiting the Fade in Origins... and I'm super excited to see it in Inquisition - it loos amazing in the screens so far!  As long as we don't have to backtrack and re-visit the same confusing, labyrinthine area a third time to make sure we didn't miss anything because, hey, we can bust down doors now! That was definitely obnoxious.  But the shapeshifting stuff I actually did like.

I imagine Solas will have some pretty awesome commentary, and I'm hoping his more positive outlook on the Fade will allow us to see things we wouldn't without him along.  It would be cool if having him along could even make it a less hostile place in some quests (vs. bringing someone like Sera who fears it). Since Allan mentioned in the Cole thread that bringing Cole along on the Redcliffe mission in the demo would (edit: might) have prevented a lot of the bad things we see happen there, I'm thinking which companions you bring along can have a notable effect on what happens.

Oh, don't get me wrong. The fade in Origins was interesting. It was just the repetitive shapeshifting and playing through it so many times that have made me slightly annoyed whenever I get to this part. Regardless I am interested in how it will look in Inquisition. I remember seeing concept art or screenshots on it but I can't find them at the moment (at least I think it was the Fade).
