Indeed it is very normal, even if someone leaves when it wasn't entirely their choice, which happened with my character and Cass, even though he loved someone prior.

 

I don't see anything wrong with Lavellan moving on, even if they rekindle things later. I'm glad mass effect let you do this, though I personally stayed loyal and ignored ME 2 chicks on my canon runs.

I'm also not into him. But if he were available I probably would. I flirt with any living breathing being they allow me to hit on. Until they give us flirt options with those corpse archers, then I will have to rephrase the previous sentence.

  Yea, one of our Cass regulars posted this, and I think she did it. It's one reason I chose the divine ending for my canon one with Cass. It's sad and it sucks, but it makes for a good story.

Abelas strikes me as a bit too similar to Solas for my Lavellan.  So I headcanon him with her cousin   There are three of them around the same age, her and her two cousins.  The idea is that any one of them could have wound up being sent to the Conclave and becoming Inquisitor; as luck (or bad luck) would have it, it was Clariel who went.

 

I kind of like the idea of her falling in love with someone more normal if she moves on from Solas.  Maybe Ser Barris, he's cuuuuuute 

 

I think that's why I don't like the dynamic. Lavellan moving on with Cullen (the other popular "moving on from Solas" choice) bothers me less because that similarity isn't there. I think if my Lavellan started crushing on Abelas, she'd pause and start wondering about her motivations.   Not that I don't get why people want their Inquisitors with him and not bashing anyone's choices! It's just not my cuppa.

 

I also kind of like the idea of Abelas wanting nothing to do with the Inquisitor (romantically) after having that dream of mine. Inky already had people lining up for her in-game and that was enough!

 

Now if Abelas showed up next game as an option for the new PC....

Abelas is mighty fine, but without knowing much about his character I can't really formulate too much of an attachment to him. Would love to see him in another game though, so long as he survives the murder knife. Which I would think he probably could.

 

As for my Lavellan- while not entirely healthy, I think she'd just commit to work for a while. This romance business is unpredictable and she doesn't like feeling out of control. Yara generally has only two settings as far as love and sex goes- a. can I get something from this person and b. do I actually care about this person? Solas happened to be both. It will be hard to replace that.

 

She might attempt at seduction if there was some sort of information/power that she felt she required. But otherwise she'll probably take up some sort of neurotic hobby like ship building.

That'd be awesome! I also want a badass female Qunari companion finally. And a romanceable dwarf. And Maevaris Tilani. If she's a romance option, even better! Already thinking about the next game's crew and who we'll have to pal along with to stop Solas from messing up Thedas.
