I want to write another thing, but I'm not sure which direction to take it. It occurs after --ahem-- the thing I don't talk about... Where Solas is talking to Lavellan about her recent erratic behavior (she almost got herself killed) and I could potentially make it a very angry and dramatic scene where Lavellan cusses him out and then learns the hard lesson that he still loves her OR... I could potentially make it very silly where she is highly medicated at the time and basically sort of makes fun of him the whole time he's trying to talk to her and then she doesn't realize until days later that he still loves her because she can't remember most of what happened since she had been pumped full of painkillers.

Should I just write both and then see which one I like better when I'm done? Or do you think that's a waste of time?

Personally I like the idea of a big, dramatic blow up. But both sound good! Yes, both. Please write both. If you choose not to publish one in the end, it's definitely not a waste of time. Practice makes better, after all.

 

I second this. This dating sim is actually very good, suprisingly. The story is... intriguing.

So, I've just viewed that very last very charged post credits scene between Mythal and Solas or Fen'Harel... I know there has been some speculation as to their relationship and the meaning of "old friend", so here's my suggestion, Fen'Harel was initially Mythal's creature... Her own unique creation, her wolf, her dog, her angel, her guardian, her enforcer if you will, a being created to serve her will... But like the angels with an intelligence and a free will of his own.

 

I think that would explain the tone of the conversation, the light but understanding chiding "You should not have..." and the formal goodbye,  "Old friend..."  they might not share blood, but theirs has and always will be a common purpose and a sense of companionship.

 

Mythal is now on the wane, having been horribly betrayed, she is now exhausted and spent, visibly aging close to her last encarnation... She is ultimately a mother and therefore a sharer, thus she gives her godhead to Morrigan who is like her, but not her, and still young, new and fresh and her last reservoir of power and energy to Solas, her creature, who in a way is much closer to her, to her way of thinking, so he can fulfil his plan... Their plan...

I did make a male Lavellan specifically to romance Cass To challenge her views. And I thought it would be funny to have strong Cass fall for a skinny elf mage. Besides, elves are the best!

 

Now I only need to get this romance going at last... How long after arriving at Skyhold until she starts returning the affection? So far she's still ignoring all flirts.

Gunna put my say in the Abelas romance discussion...who says feelings have to be involved?? My lavellan would most definitely ride the abelas thigh machine...Solas doesn't have to know if he comes back right?

 

Samesies, dude. My Tala would probably feel the need to, y'know, vent all that pent up frustration and worry and stuff, some weeks down the line if she still had no word from him or clue of where he was/what he was doing/whether he was okay. And for her, that release could easily come in the form of sexy ancient elf dude in painted on shiny pantsuitarmour, should the situation present itself. No strings or feelings attached.

 

Though she'd probably tell Solas, if he came back, and if she felt ready to re-kindle their relationship, if that's what he wanted. Not that he'd be necessarily owed an explanation about what she did during that time, given the way he clearly breaks it off and vanishes without proper explanation. But I imagine my Lavellan to be pretty forthright, so assume she'd tell him. I also get some perverse gratification at the thought of this making him feel worse in some small way, I know it's wrong, I'm sorry, I'm sorry Solas I love you what's wrong with me.

 

As an aside, this is probably not the way I would react. *cocoons deeper into large blanket while compulsively stroking her cat*

Yay fourth playthrough! My last two were 150 hours plus, so we shall see. She's got to take. Sometimes it takes four or five tries before one takes.

I know this was used yesterday, but it's still one of the funniest scenes in the whole series(un-intentionally).  Regarding the artists - most have them in their tags, Carrieli, Liz, Mims, Capricorn.

This is forever associated with

for me.  That makes it more delicious, plus my children dance every time the Chantry goes boom.

 

ETA: I'm finally actually doing my Solas romance run.  Since I played unspoiled I had no idea my dwarf was limited to Bull or Blackwall so the first was a no-love 160 hours.  The second was my Templar fangirl, an English Rose for Cullen.  I've been shoring up my emotions for Solas, though I'm pretty sure it won't be enough.  I still have at least two more runs planned but I just...can't...skip...quests...
