I mostly just lurk, but I agree with this chart so much. So much great art and interesting theories. And this thread has the nicest people. People can disagree on theories and other things and it doesn't cause drama. Such a breath of fresh air tbh. Best thread on the Bioware forums!

Even before I’ve finished Solas’s romance in Dragon Age: Inquisition I’m wallowing in the angst.  I know what’s coming but not how.

Though I don’t have the details, I do have a crystal clear image of what my Lavellen will be thinking in the short interval between his dumping her and the final battle.  My Inquisitor stands in her room, overlooking Skyhold, and Wildlife’s Don’t Fear playing in the background.

She never got that meal of the truth.  After the final battle, when she’s back in Skyhold standing on her balcony looking at all she’s accomplished, she’ll have this refrain in her mind.  The saddest garden lies below her and a kingdom of stone is all Lavellan has left.

In the end, Solas does fear his heart…and disappears.

 

Of course, I already posted about my Solas/Abelas duet.  Here's the next one.

 

Oh, holy Maker and his burning bride, have I found the perfect Solas break-up song.  Imagine him, regretful and resolute when he’s left you.  He’s thinking of the Fade, where he’s bound to find memories of you together, and the future, where he can only wish for a perfect world between his love for one woman and his need to save what he can of the people he abandoned in sorrow long ago.

I have an image of him, before he goes to Flemeth, stirring this bitter stew and dreaming of a Perfect in Between where he can have all his heart desires.  The somewhat disjointed lyrics and Pilou Côté’s gorgeous, mournful voice over that pulsing beat put me in mind of the Fade and how it blurs and twists memories and reality.
