Sorry I'm late, but...3000 pages!!!
Woop, didn't make it for 3000 but I made it for 3001...Yay for 3000 pages!
It's cool to see how much this thread has grown! Barely come on here nowadays but I lurk once a week or so.
Anyways.
*ollies back out*
EDIT: Make that 3002. I knew it.
So something for all of you theorists out there! I found this in The Fade and it is rather curios and I think you guys know why I may find it relevant to Solas.
Alright, tin foil hat theory time. Something I've been thinking about after seeing this (hopefully, I can explain it so it's understandable).
It's this part here "We have slept. We are sundered. We are crippled." What can it mean? I'm pretty sure it all refers to the elvhen gods "sleeping behind a mirror" as Cole says. Now, the whispers say they are sundered. What does this mean exactly? What if, in a bid to protect them from the taint that Andruil brought back from the void, Solas' only solution was to sunder the other gods from that part of themselves? Either because he wasn't strong enough to actually kill them, or more probably because he didn't want to do so. So now, the gods sleep, sundered but enduring.
But... what about this sundered part of them? As we see with Mythal, even a small part of a god (a wisp) is a sentient being. What if that sundered part actually started whispering to another people. The Tevinter. Now, the Tevinter mythology has the old gods represented as dragons. Possibly, the sundered wisps took refuge in dragos, the way Mythal found a host in Flemeth, and that is what the Tevinter magisters saw when the old gods spoke to them. Dumat, especially, whispered to Corypheus to go to the Black City. Possibly it was because he was trying to get the Tevinter to reunite the wisp with the rest of their being, for now sleeping because of Fen'Harel? For some reason, though, this didn't work. So the tainted wisps chose another solution. The Blights,
Now, they call to the Darkspawn, corrupted version of the different races, to find and release them. That's where I'm not exactly sure of the following events. We do know, though, that the Grey Wardens somehow found a solution to the blight and that only they can "kill" an archdemon. But, what if they were manipulated into doing so by the archdemons themselves? with this kill, the wisp/sundered part is finally released and free to return to the whole.
And so, the Elvhen gods still sleep, but they endure, and they wait, and once they regain ALL of their wisps, they will awaken, and I can imagine they'll be pissed at the state of the world as itt is. It might well be WHY solas is so pissed at the wardens. Because they are trying to hurry that process, and right now for the gods to awaken would be bad for the the modern world. As in... really bad.
As for Solas' plans when he leaves the Inquisition, I'm still so unsure about that and it drives me mad. I suspect one thing though. Whatever he plans, I don't think he believes he'll survive it. After alll, it's a road he thinks he needs to travel alone, and not a path he'd wish on his worse enemy. That to me spells some sort of horrible death at the end of it.
And that's it. As I said, it's pretty out there as far as theory goes, and I'm not sure I make sense, but I thought I would share with you guys anyway.
Edit : And, just to break our hearts a little bit more, that would mean Solas almost decided to drop his plan and live for Lavellan... before deciding the good of everyone trumped his survival. Then, he breaks with her to save her the heartbreak of seeing him die...
You must skip a lot of this thread.
And if you think that any dating sim this thread would come up with wouldn't have smut....Not if Liz is in charge. It might be Abelas smut though.
See: Below. lololol.
I don't have to skip nearly as much as you'd think! But when I have 20 pages to catch up on I generally can't be bothered and skip to the new stuff.
And smut is fine in moderation. I just... prefer the lore talk and theories.
EDIT: Happy (late) 3000! I was writing a fanfic for it but it's not finished.
Happy 3000+ pages, Solas thread! I knew we could do it.
Interestingly enough, last night I dreamt that we got post-game DLC that brought Solas back. However, in the process of coming back he had somehow lost his sight. So he had to use magic to sense where he was going.

I read something in World of Thedas: It says that the elvhen gods were trapped in their respective realms. For some reason I thought they were all trapped together somewhere. How did he get them to all go into their corners, then seal the mirrors all at once?
Well since some of you have you theory crafting hats on I thought I'd join in with my own theory from a while ago.It was after I finished the side quest with Bianca on my nightmare playthrough and a thought came to me when she was talking about how the blight can only infect living things and not minerals and such. We know from DAO/DA2 that the eluvians can become tainted so logically that must mean they are either made from something akin to lyrium; something that is 'alive' or Bianca is wrong and the blight can corrupt certain non-living things or possibly energy/magic. Unless of course there is something within the mirrors that is alive. Now I'm looking back at what cole says to solas if he romanced the inquisitor."They sleep, masked in a mirror, hiding, hurting, and to wake them.."Now I always assumed from this that the elven gods were trapped in a part of the fade or a pocket dimension like the crossroads that people couldn't access without an eluvian, but what if the elven gods are actually trapped within the eluvians, becoming a part of them, a living part, something that could become corrupted. If this is indeed the case then I'm even more worried about what Solas is up to. We've seen what a corrupted old god and a corrupted magister can do, I don't particularly want to see what a corrupted elven god could do, even if said gods do just turn out to be insanely powerful mages.
I agree.
I've thought about that a few times. I mean there have been what 5 blights with corrupted "gods", Cory who is a corrupted magister tried to ruin the world. What will these so called elven "gods" (who I think are just powerful mages like the corrupted gods) do. I feel if Solas unleashes them he's going to be in deep doo doo and so is Thedas. I hope I'm wrong about that though.
EDIT: Also Happy 3000 pages.....I know I'm late.

That's a bummer. I was sort of hoping he would have locked them away together. Initially they'd be grumpy about it. Yelling at eachother and fighting over their differences. Then maybe around 500 years in they sort of had their "Breakfast Club" moment and realized they really were not all that different. Falon'Din crying about how nobody loved him but he really just didn't love himself enough and June(the nerd) comforting him. Andruil getting her Sylaise level makeover. All pledging together they'd get their revenge. Sort of sweet.
EDIT: Happy 3000! Been a lot of fun on here!
Would you look at that. Page 3002 3000 (pretend it's still page 3000)!
Never would have thought we'd get this far when the first incarnation of this thread was getting started and everyone and their grandma was throwing shade at Solas!
It's certainly changed a lot over time but it's still chugging along.
Congrats, Solasmancers/Solas fans/I guess Abelas fans too!
I don't have anything to share because I have to go in a few minutes but yay!
Wow!!
But I'm sorry, now you will have to find a way to undress him too
Ps, I feel a bit bad for poor Lavellan standing naked in the freezing mountain air >_<
HAHAH! There is a way but I am waiting for modders to make a mod of it instead of using cheat engine because cheat engine can cause the game to crash so.. : )

How did Tom Sawyer get all the different kids to paint the fence for him? It's a trickster trick... You get one person to do what you want and then you start pointing out to others the extraordinary advantage they have gained... If the first few are guillable enough they may even actively help you to persuade the others...
“Say, Tom, let me whitewash a little.”
Tom considered, was about to consent; but he altered his mind:
“No – no – I reckon it wouldn’t hardly do, Ben. You see, Aunt Polly’s awful particular about this fence – right here on the street, you know – but if it was the back fence I wouldn’t mind and shewouldn’t. Yes, she’s awful particular about this fence; it’s got to be done very careful; I reckon there ain’t one boy in a thousand, maybe two thousand, that can do it the way it’s got to be done.”
“No – is that so? Oh come, now – lemme, just try. Only just a little – I’d let you, if you was me, Tom.”
“Ben, I’d like to, honest injun; but Aunt Polly – well, Jim wanted to do it, but she wouldn’t let him; Sid wanted to do it, and she wouldn’t let Sid. Now don’t you see how I’m fixed? If you was to tackle this fence and anything was to happen to it – ”
“Oh, shucks, I’ll be just as careful. Now lemme try. Say – I’ll give you the core of my apple.”
“Well, here – No, Ben, now don’t. I’m afeard – ”
“I’ll give you all of it!”
Tom gave up the brush with reluctance in his face, but alacrity in his heart. And while the late steamer Big Missouri worked and sweated in the sun, the retired artist sat on a barrel in the shade close by, dangled his legs, munched his apple, and planned the slaughter of more innocents. There was no lack of material; boys happened along every little while; they came to jeer, but remained to whitewash. By the time Ben was fagged out, Tom had traded the next chance to Billy Fisher for a kite, in good repair; and when he played out, Johnny Miller bought in for a dead rat and a string to swing it with – and so on, and so on, hour after hour. And when the middle of the afternoon came, from being a poor poverty-stricken boy in the morning, Tom was literally rolling in wealth. He had besides the things before mentioned, twelve marbles, part of a jews-harp, a piece of blue bottle-glass to look through, a spool cannon, a key that wouldn’t unlock anything, a fragment of chalk, a glass stopper of a decanter, a tin soldier, a couple of tadpoles, six fire-crackers, a kitten with only one eye, a brass door-knob, a dog-collar – but no dog – the handle of a knife, four pieces of orange-peel, and a dilapidated old window sash.
He had had a nice, good, idle time all the while – plenty of company – and the fence had three coats of whitewash on it! If he hadn’t run out of whitewash he would have bankrupted every boy in the village.

I think when it says respective realms they mean the Creators were trapped in the Fade and the Forgotten Ones were trapped in the Void. I don't think each god had their own "realm" per se.
