I wasn't She is a military woman, she's not going to have supermodel hair. And I wouldn't want her to anyway. Look at Cass. It can look boyish at certain angles, but I find it adorable on her

 

Just like slightly feminine features can look good on some men, long hair and such (why do we consider length of hair a male and female thing anyway?) women can look good with "boyish" features as well.

I think that's a consequence of the Frostbite 3 Engine having originally been for shooter games. Most of the people have buzz cuts and helmets on anyway.  No hair loopies or flowing locks there. 

I don't know about you, but when I play Battlefield I want to whip off my helmet and just wow the other side with my glorious flowing mane.  Or I'm a grizzled battle hardened bro, standing over the bloody corpse of my men. A single tear falls from my eye as my hair is slightly whipped by the wind.

Not just Frostbite 3 though.  Many games have shorter hair for characters because of clipping issues.  SWTOR added longer hair options but they clip - sometimes really badly - through armor,

First thought:  Those sleeves are awesome.

 

Second thought:  I could never wear them.  I would end up smacking someone in the face when I gestured.  I might even put out an eye.

Preach. I freaking hate helmets. I get that they're totally important and what not, but I turn them off in EVERY. GAME.

If I spend for freaking ever in the Character Creator making the hottest of men and/ or women, I want to appreciate that effort EVERY waking minute of the game. Not cover it up with a helmet! 

 

Not to mention a lot of head gear/helmets look terrible anyway lol.

I was legit more offended for Vivienne than for me at Halamshiral.  There is no possible way in Thedas she would have worn that military outfit.  At least we got the Empress that is Calpernia.
