That doesn't necessarily rule it out. The Maker was largely forgotten by mainstream Vints.

It's like an actor that does a memorable one-shot character on a beloved show in his twenties, then switches to doing mostly theater work.

Fifty years later, he becomes a legendary cranky old man character actor with dozens of television roles. But most people forget his earlier stuff, since he changed his stage name to sound less exotic.

(That being said I don't buy the Maker=Dumat. Just some of the Dumat=Andraste's Ride-Along Soul.  Which is kind of the same thing, but not. Oh, you know what I mean. )

I too believe that Dumat's actions (or someone else's mistaken for Dumat) is really behind Andraste's legend, not the Maker. Though I don't believe that makes him the literal Maker. I don't even think Dumat is a creator of any sort, nor mistaken for one, etc etc etc.

He was a Silken Wind Hound. It's basically a long-haired whippet. He was so sweet..a bit dumb, but so so sweet.

That too! There's a lot with the Inquisition that didn't quite feel finished. Even Skyhold itself is still a great ball of mystery. There's also the fact that Blackwall is the only party member you can kill. All of the others could show up in a second game or expansion with little problem, just change their intro dialogue if they weren't recruited or left in a rage. 

 

You know, when I first played DAI, I thought the Skyhold upgrades were gonna be like how you upgraded the Normandy in ME2 (or upgrading Vigil's Keep in Awakening) in the sense that  you'll need those upgrades to defend yourself against something big and bad. I was a bit disappointed that that didn't happen. Maybe we'll get something like that in the expansion/DLC? We have this huge fortress and it was kind of a wasted opportunity.

I don't see why he wouldn't. Unless this game tanked(and we know it didn't) - Solas is a MAJOR character(with/without the romance).  So if he pops up again and you romanced him, I would hope they would at the very least have the characters mention it.  That would be so lazy if they didn't.   I think it'll be more than a passing mention though.  As much as Friend!Solas is very important, the romanced Inquisitor is going to mean something different for him.  For the first time in his life - or the first time in a long time - he allowed himself to be selfish.  So when you confront him again, you'll be able to see him dealing with that internal conflict...which would be interesting for his character.

 

I would happily settle for a novel... Though an in game continuation would be awesome.

 

I like the Alistair GNs but this would be my least preferred option (though still better than nothing!).

Ah, wow. I disappear to spend some time with Manny Calavera and this thread goes flying past the 3000 page mark. It was only at around 2970 and going slow two days ago. Wasn't expecting it to get here so soon.

 

 

Congrats everyone. Excellent Solas rambling abilities. And pretty art. All the pretty art. And random shipping.

 

I am off to go spend more time with Manny, being sooo bad at puzzles. I'll see you at page 4000. Or when DLC happens. That's gotta happen soon, right? Riiiiiiiight?

To anyone who lost their puppies: I am so sorry. My dog passed away a few weeks ago and I still can't believe she's gone. Here she is, Mary:

One of my cats is this tiny calico. She will indignantly brush off attempts to pick her up and remove her from the computer tower, it's a fifty-fifty shot as to whether she'll leap on your face and start clawing or purr and cuddle if you try to scratch her ears. But she's fine with getting dressed up most of the time, and is very chill with the dogs and strangers. When giving her a bath, she makes a feeble attempt at leaving, then stays in, occasionally letting out a dissatisfied 'Mrrow.' She loves playing with water and only begrudges the fact that it's hard for her to lick the water when it's landing on her head like that.
Then my other cat is the chubby blue cat. She's incredibly calm. She weathers her sisters frantic attacks and ambushes with dignified headlocks and then calmly walks away. If she charges, she outright kicks the calico in the face and doesn't break stride. Mostly she prefers to cuddle with people and observe.
Until you try to give her a bath. Then the demon shows.
The one time she got into something that was too toxic for her to clean off herself, we had to give her a shower. It was the single most terrifying thing I've had to do in my life so far. I picked her up and she was quite happy to curl up in my arms. But when she heard running water, she decided I'd look better with scars. That wasn't entirely unexpected, I mean, she's a cat. Eventually we decided an old tactic of throwing her in the bathwater, getting her wet, putting the soap on her out of the tub, then dropping her back in until she was clean. (This was my first month or so of ever being in contact with a cat. Forgive me. )
She didn't even touch the water! She did a double-jump in mid-air and knocked the door ajar.
After we finally tracked her down, we used the shower with the thick, opaque glass walls. About seven feet up, there was about three inches of clear space. There was a little shelf inside where all the shampoo bottles in. My brilliant idea was to put her in there, gently soak her with the showerhead by sticking my arms through the opening, and then put the shampoo on her.
...It went poorly.
She was screaming louder than all of Silent Hill put together. Somewhere, Demorgorgon shuddered in fear. It was the smoldering rage of a very fat kitten that had had enough of her humans' ****.
She leaped seven feet and made it halfway through the damn opening before her belly got in the way.
She leapt at the ceiling and left claw marks in tile. She nearly broke the glass by headbutting it. She punched up and repeatedly punched the showerhead. She nearly strangled herself on the shower cord while still hissing with rage until my girlfriend leaped in and threw her off. Everyone was screaming in terror.
It also turned out that when wet, she looked like a balverine from Fable, complete with Satanic yellow eyes.
She eventually broke out.
Next time she leaps away from her sister and lands face first in a can of white paint, I'm just going to tell everyone my cat has albinism.
(This was totally just an excuse for me to spread the legend of Ashley the Dread Kitty. )
I wonder what the percentages are in this thread for cat, dog, cat/dog, and neither are, considering we're fans of the Dread Wolf.

I'm out of likes but I have to say this is the best cat story ever     

 

I have three cats, one of them is a black one that can spend more than ten minutes either talking to herself or answering to you (no deep conversations, you just have to say "meow" or her name) I love dogs but I'm totally a cat person.

 

Edit to add hugs for everyone who lost their furry friends.

I wouldn't mind a GN/novel if there was no choice and it would be better than nothing.  I fear those wouldn't really do him and/or the relationship justice, though.  So much of the emotional weight of his character and the romance is carried by the cinematics and the voice acting.

But he restrains himself in a moment of rage in order to finish the job at hand. Only when it's finished can he exact his wrath.
