Maybe it's just me being cynical, but I have a nasty feeling that the truth will come out eventually.  The way my Lavellan sees it, it's power on borrowed time, based essentially on a lie.  A weak point in the Inquisition that's all too easy for enemies to exploit.

 

 

 

If my experience as a Christian and my convos with Mother Giselle are any indications, realistically, I think it will just be the same-old "the Maker works in mysterious ways" *waves hands vaguely* with a hint of "owowlookheevenusesheathenelventhings" /PraisetheMaker 

 

Honestly~ I consider myself a pretty devout Christian irl but Giselle's explanation of Cornfish seeing "an empty throne" was so trite and idiotic I wanted to smack her. Yes of course it couldn't even possibly be that the Maker wasn't really there or that Golden City wasn't really the Maker's throne but something else entirely, it must have been Cornfish's psyche causing him to have altered memories bc SIN.

 

ETA: I do however believe that this explanation is only really viable if your Inquizzy isn't an elf. If you are an elf, as Hawke says, "times change." I think that's partly why elves used to look down on humans so much - shemlen, short lived, short memories - the gratitude of mortals is, at most, worth a single lifetime.

I'm aware of that. And I'm not happy with that decision at all. Shepard in ME3 was perfect to me. FINALLY showing some human emotion. ME2 zombie Shepard was a disaster in that respect (and others...).

I'll take a predefined character over a generic avatar any day. I get the appeal of roleplaying a character any way you want, but it's just not for me personally. And it's not like you can actually roleplay the inquisitor much since the answers you can pick are variations of diplomatic most of the time. Which makes sense for the story. But I had a hard time injecting some personality into a character that just wasn't very interesting to me from what the game presented. The dead neutral voice acting didn't help at all.

 

It's great that you guys enjoy your inquisitors. There is plenty for me to enjoy too. It's just not the inquisitor. It's not a big gripe though. I'm slightly more fond of quizzy than the warden...

 

(And sarcastic Hawke is glorious, yes. A total caricature but a damn funny one. In a Patrick Bateman sort of way.^^)

 

I agree. My favourite as a character is probably sarcastic Hawke. 

 

The only way I was able to get attached to my Wardens was to come up with a lot of headcanons for them.

On a completely unrelated note, seeing the Abelas thing pop up again coinciding with me starting "In Hushed Whispers" again on yet another playthrough made me curious. A lot of Solamancers seem to have a thing for Abelas (I have not caught that fever). Are there any Solasmancers who kinda thought Lysas was a cute little fella?

Edit: if you like that sort of thing. And I think part of the attraction might have been that Lysas is so close to my character's name, Lysaris. But seriously, I thought he was adorable and wondered if he might be added to the DAI non-romanceable characters dating sim.

There are many parts where I feel the inquisitors anger is forced- like it irritates me to no end at the beginning when she first walks into the chantry after waking up after closing the breach the very first time. She like SLAMS that door open and stomps in. lol. Be gentle!

 

Also: I don't remember who Lysas is but I remember I would have totally banged Felix. Sad day.

The Inquisition is all wrapped up in faith and the belief that the Inquisitor is Andraste's herald is a huge part of why people joined the organisation and gave it power. Historically things don't tend to end well for the person at the centre of that.

 

But as I said nothing too bad will happen because the Inquisitor is the pc and there's no way BW would risk a repeat of the uproar ME3 caused. (I know Shepard's death wasn't the main reason people were upset but I don't think BW are going to do anything that chances that PR disaster again).    

It would be just like Bioware to assume we were pissed because we couldn't handle our characters dying, rather than it being their half assed ending and BS starchild shenanigans. Amongst other things.

Whoa, you have recreated my husband except he doesn't have long head hair and scars. I actually tried to make a Trevelyan looking like him to romance Cass, but he just looks off and I forgot to take off ALL makeup in the CC. Basically he has shiny lips and black eye liner. Cass is gonna finish getting romanced as soon as patch 5 gets released.

Gah, I love Felix too! He actually made buzzcut #12829734 look good. I was really hoping we could recruit him somehow and have him show up in Skyhold.

My trev is pretty simple to make, in case you ever wanted to play as your husband

 

All I did was give the default Trev that beard, made him dark blonde, gave him a more heavy set face and made the nose bridge wide, and the nose a tad longer. I'm done in like five minutes usually. Only thing I find tricky is getting the right blue for the eyes:

This is one of the greatest things I have seen--with the exception of the Solwaluigi (do not want, get the **** away from me)--and I am now desperate to try this with my cat. But who would she be? Someone help me. Since we're all posting our pets (HURRAY!), here's my kitty cat!

One of my cats is this tiny calico. She will indignantly brush off attempts to pick her up and remove her from the computer tower, it's a fifty-fifty shot as to whether she'll leap on your face and start clawing or purr and cuddle if you try to scratch her ears. But she's fine with getting dressed up most of the time, and is very chill with the dogs and strangers. When giving her a bath, she makes a feeble attempt at leaving, then stays in, occasionally letting out a dissatisfied 'Mrrow.' She loves playing with water and only begrudges the fact that it's hard for her to lick the water when it's landing on her head like that.
Then my other cat is the chubby blue cat. She's incredibly calm. She weathers her sisters frantic attacks and ambushes with dignified headlocks and then calmly walks away. If she charges, she outright kicks the calico in the face and doesn't break stride. Mostly she prefers to cuddle with people and observe.
Until you try to give her a bath. Then the demon shows.
The one time she got into something that was too toxic for her to clean off herself, we had to give her a shower. It was the single most terrifying thing I've had to do in my life so far. I picked her up and she was quite happy to curl up in my arms. But when she heard running water, she decided I'd look better with scars. That wasn't entirely unexpected, I mean, she's a cat. Eventually we decided an old tactic of throwing her in the bathwater, getting her wet, putting the soap on her out of the tub, then dropping her back in until she was clean. (This was my first month or so of ever being in contact with a cat. Forgive me. )
She didn't even touch the water! She did a double-jump in mid-air and knocked the door ajar.
After we finally tracked her down, we used the shower with the thick, opaque glass walls. About seven feet up, there was about three inches of clear space. There was a little shelf inside where all the shampoo bottles in. My brilliant idea was to put her in there, gently soak her with the showerhead by sticking my arms through the opening, and then put the shampoo on her.
...It went poorly.
She was screaming louder than all of Silent Hill put together. Somewhere, Demorgorgon shuddered in fear. It was the smoldering rage of a very fat kitten that had had enough of her humans' ****.
She leaped seven feet and made it halfway through the damn opening before her belly got in the way.
She leapt at the ceiling and left claw marks in tile. She nearly broke the glass by headbutting it. She punched up and repeatedly punched the showerhead. She nearly strangled herself on the shower cord while still hissing with rage until my girlfriend leaped in and threw her off. Everyone was screaming in terror.
It also turned out that when wet, she looked like a balverine from Fable, complete with Satanic yellow eyes.
She eventually broke out.
Next time she leaps away from her sister and lands face first in a can of white paint, I'm just going to tell everyone my cat has albinism.
(This was totally just an excuse for me to spread the legend of Ashley the Dread Kitty. )
I wonder what the percentages are in this thread for cat, dog, cat/dog, and neither are, considering we're fans of the Dread Wolf.
See, I kind of managed to tie it back in! I've only been a 'little' off-topic the past few days.

 

This is hilarious. My most recent cat anecdote occurred just last night. Was about to go to bed far too late for my own good, and my cat flounces out of the bathroom where her litterbox is, absolutely stinking o' shite. Cue me catching, trapping and removing kitty nuggets from my cat's exceedingly fluffy ass for the next half hour. Crawled into bed at 3am. I lead a glamorous life.

 

Dogs are superior. Solas would agree

I actually really hope we get to keep playing as the Inquisitor. I am really attached to all my Inquisitors, way more so than my HoFs and Hawkes.

Also, someone had mentioned on this thread a while back that Weekes had expressed interest in continuing writing the Solas romance. Am I just wishfully thinking or does anyone know where he said something like that?

 

WHAT. Is this true? I would love it if this were the case, though I haven't come across anything like this personally. I certainly hope Solasmancers get more content if when he appears again.

After the end I re-loaded to before the battle, deleted the end game saves and finished up area's I didn't do just so I had more play time with Solas hahaha

Also I was considering the massive restraint Solas shows in that scene. Even as "weak" as he is I'm sure he knows a spell that could melt Quizzy's face off.

But he restrains himself in a moment of rage in order to finish the job at hand. Only when it's finished can he exact his wrath.

Totally turned on now.

 

I'm not ashamed to say I'd like to, just once, see Solas return to his full power and go utterly ape-**** on something or someone. Just the once. And then he could collapse into my Lavellan's arms, spent and shaking, and she would coo little nothings at him and hold him and pet his pretty bald head all throughout the night.
