...I don't think that it's impossible to completely dismantle everything, but it will take a really really really long time and I think an interim "form" of the Inquisition is still necessary in the dismantling process.

Well it doesn't matter what I think anyway. The epilogue pretty clearly set up the Inquisition to seem like a superpower to continue to use as you wish. There will probably not be the option to dismantle it, regardless of if one plays an Inquisitor who wants to dismantle it, and regardless of whether it would be feasible or not.

So this doesn't have anything specifically to do with Solas but I was playing with the free cam in the Crossroads and have found a total of 8 unbroken Eluvians for anyone that is interested. The one that you come out of with Morrigan has dragons on either side, while the other 3 that are fixed on the same stone pillar have lying wolves, howling wolves, and the elves with bows and a notched arrow (Andruil?) on either side.

I want to try and do something similar with the end scene. If I find anything interesting I will post it here.

Also I mentioned this yesterday. The exact line about the Crossroads from the Inquisitor is: "It's deteriorating. Eventually this place will simply collapse on itself."

Well, I did just finish listening to this: http://8tracks.com/u...dofnight/broken

That's brutal!

Honestly I find that as unrealistic as the Inquisitor lalala-ing off into the sunset but all rpgs are at the end of the day power-fantasies I suppose  :P

It's viable but it's so unhealthy for everyone and everything and just not a legitimate structure for peacetime politics (there's a reason the UN is basically toothless) It makes me curious about how they're going to address the Inquisition in subsequent games, since its continued existence as is changes the political/power landscape of Thedas significantly (and what happens when the Inquisitor dies?)

I will love you forever if you make gifs of the eluvians.

And I had to follow that playlist up with the most upbeat weeaboo mix I could find to get rid of the sad

Gifs might be tricky, but screenshots are possible. My graphics card isn't up to par for making videos. And I won't be getting a new computer for another year unfortunately.

Well, screenshots aren't going to make my love for you eternal, but we're mortals anyway so it probably won't really matter

Interesting! Eight unbroken eluvians for the eight gods with vallaslin, and presumably temples?

The Orlesians remind me very strongly of Cairhien (Am I even spelling that right? It's been years) from Wheel of Time. If only we had Aiel for some Orlesian lord to upset...

You mean the Dalish?  I'm still holding out hope for an Arlathvhen in a DLC.

It's also occurred to me that if Solas does something really calamitous that lays blame on elves (say if he unleashes elven gods or an army ancient blighted elves on Thedas for who knows what reason), the regular elves of Thedas could find themselves facing major backlash.  Solas even hints at this when he pulls aside a Lavellan after the Haven singalong.  His hinting that his plans might result in something bad for the Dalish might also fall into this.  Facing something that dire might be enough to pull the Dalish and all elves together under the right circumstances, if they were fighting for their very existence, and to distinguish themselves from whatever elven threat is placed against Thedas.

This is all a few pages old but I'm a sucker for attention.

Are there any other Theodosian groups that we hate besides Orlesians?

I assume not to that extend. Besides, It's really enough to hate the French Orlesians. Everybody hates the French Orlesians.

I think Solas would clarify that he hates the Qun, not the Qunari...

And he "hates" the Qunari for deliberately following the Qun.

So Saturday morning I'm getting my hair cut and colored, and now I want a skrillex cut.

I don't think they would appreciate it at work.

I've wanted that for years. And they so wouldn't appreciate it at work. Maybe enough that I wouldn't have to worry about "at work" anymore then? hm...

I think my views are similar to those of Bull, where it's easier to dislike people individually, not larger groups.

I'm not so sure. I actually think it's fairly easy to hate groups. I, for example, simply hate all people.

(Except for you here, of course.)

Nothing to see here.

Are you kidding me?! Come on! Man, that's so not fair!

I agree. I don't think it's healthy for the Inquisition to exist as a superpower. But you're right. It's the vehicle for a power fantasy. I don't think that using the power of the Inquisition to change the world is any less realistic (that is, subject to less hardship and opposition) than the idea of dismantling the Inquisition (for whatever reasons one sees fit).

I wonder if if Solas could go so far as to unleash a calamity on Thedas that would force the elves to ally and work together against it (and maybe ally with the humans, dwarves and Qunari) and thus regain a sense of unity. I know it's probably really far off the tracks, but something like that could force Thedas to take note. Solas becomes the villain the tales paint him in has to give them a cause to fight against and on the ashes of what was, rebuild a future...

Edit: If that's what Solas thinks of doing, I really want to slap some sense into him. How is that suppose to go well I've no idea...

This sounds so familiar for some reason, but I can't place it right now. I'm almost absolutely certain this happened in some story/game where this person turned themselves into the big evil baddie so they could get all the squabbling people to unite.

Solas playing the villain to push elves in a particular direction, is an interesting idea.  He's also the type of character I could see doing something like that.

I can't think of one singular story right now, but it's a plot I've seen before for sure. I... kinda feel like it could be something Solas would do, unfortunately, what with his talks of walking a path he wouldn't want for his worse enemy. Solas, don't do something this stupid, damnit!
