See that's the thing. I got stuck on denial, aaannd then I started a Nightmare Lavellan playthrough so now I get to start the whole thing all over again.

Heading left now...

We have a support group here, "Team Optimism". You might be interested in their offerings. Would you care to look at the brochure?

I've never advocated a shadow organization - and I think that's exactly the type of fear that would arise if you holistically disbanded the Inquisition without arranging for a suitable stand in for the power vacuum that causes.

If the Inquisition remains, that's exactly what it is.

Yeah, this is what I'm saying as well.  If elves are suddenly the big bad enemy in Thedas, the modern elves of Thedas may find themselves having to either join whatever that is, or creating a united opposing force for the sake of their own survival.  This is unlikely to be permanent, though everything might end up changing the elves of Thedas in unforeseen ways.

Yeah, I don't see it going well, too many ways to go wrong, too many wild cards in play. You can't heard people the way you would a flock of sheeps. But it's still something someone desperate enough could think of doing. Not that it worked so well the last time Solas did something grand (imprisonning the gods). *disgusted noise*

On another note, I was wondering about Moses-parallels in Briala? She was, in a sense, "one of the Orlesian nobility" thanks to her position, but then she turns around and decides to be all "let my people go."

I think Briala's different from Moses. She's been working for the elves ever since childhood, while Moses only finds out about his Hebrew roots when he's an adult, and only decides to lead his people after God kind of forces him to. Additionally, Briala's goal isn't to lead her people away on an exodus. She just wants their lives to be better in the cities they already occupy. They do have similar ways of forcing their oppressor's hands though: Moses unleashes the plagues, while Briala tries to weaken the court by exacerbating the Civil War.

You do not.

Well, Augeia, I must be honest with you: not everybody is able to leave "Denial & Isolation", no matter how hard we try. But our failure quote is negligible.

It would definitely be the kind of plot where collateral damage is considered acceptable. A lot of collateral damage. The greater good trumping all kind of thing. The thought that this could be Solas' plan frighten me. Unless he can be stopped in time, i don't think that there is any way he could ever be redeemed in the eye of the general population if he does it.

Now I made myself sad...

Edit : TOP Solas

Spoiler

Oh I see, I thought you were thinking of a united purely elven front.

I don't see how a united Thedas fighting against evil can help elves much though, because that's essentially what we're seeing with the Blight.

Unless... that enemy's defeat somehow restores all elves' immortality and magical abilities?

Edit: ToP Solas

I'm on Team Wait and See.

Also trying to romance Blackwall is really hard, because he looks like my dad, how do people get past that.

I feel one choice elves could be facing by the end of the series is regain their magic/immortality or refuse this change. That could have interesting implications.

The Blights aren't potential elven truth bombs, tho.  At least not overtly so.

Agreed. That would certainly be interesting to see, especially if regaining their immortality meant they'd somehow have to leave Thedas. Someone once mentionned the idea of a new elvhen realm at the crossroad, or some such pocket reality.

They'd be like Tolkien elves going to the Undying Lands then.

Which I've always seen as sad.

*Cole voice* How do you know?

We'll have to see in this case. The Blight's looking pretty linked with the Creators so far.

Past or future... I always seen those elves leaving for the Undying Lands as giving up on hope for the future. Which is sad and I always thought the Undying Lands didn't actually exist and they simply went to their death O_O

I'd rather see elves being kept part of Thedas (with or without magic), not some etheral people sailing to unknown shores. It would make them feel less real, less relevant to the plot. IDK

That's what the word "potential" was there for. :P  The Blight could be the Creators, or they could be the Forgotten Ones, who are more closely linked to the Blight.  Either way, we appear to be dealing with elven gods.  And to bring things full circle, it might not be good news for regular elves in Thedas, both City and Dalish, if that comes out.  Humans might react by killing all elves, no matter where they come from.  Whether that forces modern elves to unite (as seen in Wycome) or change some of their core beliefs and values, we'll have to see.  The possibility is there, and I think Solas knows that, even if I don't think that's his real plan.

I wouldn't mind if they sailed towards wherever humans and kossith originally came from though. I'd be really interested actually.

Ooo what are the fan theories here? I really have no idea what to think about how the old gods relate to the elven pantheon. Some people think they're the same? I'm not convinced.

Truthfully, I'm like you. I've come up with dozens of absolutely horrifying scenarios so I'm not surprised.

Re Blackwall: Urk.  I wouldn't romance him.

Lol this reminds me of this guy "Bubba the Love Sponge" I listen to in the morning on the radio for their hilarious censor noises. Couldn't find a good example but this is funny as hell.

Spoiler

I love this station, lol. These guys are so hilarious.
