I personally just got bullied and harassed out of another website that I frequented to get my Disney discussion fix, the same way I come here to get my DAI/Solas discussion fix. I'm kind of afraid to post since everyone kept jumping on everything I said over there, but this place is still much better than most other places on the internet. I hope it stays that way.

EDIT: Team Optimism. Still hope Solas gets a shot at a happy ending.

Listen, in this thread you can get both Disney annmnnnd Solas fix. I got you.

Let's be friends, Yaslana.

LET US ALL BE FRIENDS. We're here because mutual interests are great! WOOO! YEEAH! VIDEO GAMES. SOLAS!

*yanks everyones hands together, binds with duct tape, proceeds to spin us in an erratic, happy, leaping circle around a bronzed statue of Solas crying over his shattered orb*

Lol I was just calling people who had the opinion that Solas wasn't tapping Lavellan naive... that wasn't specific to women ;)

I still think it's naive, but that's just me. People can have their little headcanons, but in a public forum, one's going to be questioned on it.

It's not a naive headcanon if the writer has directly said it could go either way, though.

Isn't Wynne's spirit Faith too?

I think she was, yes. Would that make Wynne akin to a Seeker then?

It might be. I couldn't remember tbh.  But they seem to be so entwined that there's no distinction. Whether that is because of the nature of the spirit or what, I have no idea.

How do you get the eyebrows light?! Why can't I do that?! That's a mod, right? The shape also looks so natural... must be a mod (please say it's a mod).

The eyebrow color is not a mod! It's about two slider shades over from the right end. It's the orange right before the hair gets dark with a red tint. The eyebrow shape however, is part of an eyebrow mod by the lovely Shantia. All eyebrows are replaced by less awful versions. Her Tumblr is here if you want to ogle her work a bit.

I thought that Faith only temporarily possessed Cassandra?

Lets be real, they said that so as not to upset the masses. Same as how they assured us the taint likely made warden females infertile and likely would be ignored by darkspawn for broodmother candidates, while having a novel that suggests the exact opposite. It's PR.

I think Cass said the spirit "touched her mind" and now she has her unique abilities.

No, he literally said he intentionally left it ambiguous so the player could decide whether or not they had sex. If Weekes hadn't wanted it to be ambiguous, he very easily could have made it obvious one way or the other.

Patrick Weekes did say he kept it deliberately vague on whether they did it or not so people could draw their own conclusions. By Word of God, our headcanon is as valid as those who say, "He totally tapped that!"

I agree there are some great people here but i can kinda understand the newbie angsnt. This thread is run by the popular posters, sorta like a click. Person X posts, 10 people want to respond, newbie post get forgotten except for the ones that annoy that click. Boom drama.

Unfortunately that is a symptom of any fast moving thread. It could also be that sometimes posts are hard to respond to, or aren't phrased in a way that people think they are intended to get a response.

However, I will certainly try my best to look out for any stray posts and chat. You can also directly quote people- which is usually a good way of getting your post noticed by the people you want to comment on.

That could mean temporary possession. That's how I originally understood it, though maybe not since you can't possess someone without consent.

Seriously, we had this argument like 1000 pages ago. Nope. Let's not go there again.

Hehe, I know i remember coming here, I'm from reddit so appeasing to people is became a bit easy and cracking jokes is the easiest way to penetrate people's heart strings. Now I'm a karma wh0re.

I'm not saying it's invalid... I'm saying I find it highly unlikely.

Patrick Weekes can say what he likes, but like the broodmother issue, it doesn't really match with what is actually there. In my opinion.

You can have whatever headcanon you wish. I still think it's naive. *shrug* It's not like I'm saying you're factually wrong.

I think the point was more that Anders+Justice's spirit situation was different from, say, Flemeth and Mythal or Kieran and Urthemiel.  DA2 Anders+Justice effectively acted as one person, except a few instances in the Fade and on the rivalry path.

I want to start off by saying that I completely agree on "god + person != spirit + person". I see a big difference in many ways, especially the potential outcome.

But: So do Flemeth and Mythal. They act as one, they don't even exhibit the soft of obvious duality. In fact, Anders and Justice still had their separate moments, not so Mythal and Flemeth. Their symbiosis was much more fundamental.

I even had Siha on ignore.

O_O

I so liked your dry sarcasm and was so disappointed you didn't get me. But this?!

Well, I was a very special snowflake, at least.

The reason he died was not because of the chantry explosion...it was the incessant god dam whining. The only time in my life I will EVER be able to do that without going to prison.

I do not kill him. But I just hate what they made of him. I had been so happy to hear I would see him again. And than there was that... thing. And it was not the Justice part. It was the loser type who was not willing to do something about his miserable situation instead of constantly lament. When he decided to do anything at all, I actually felt an ounce of respect.

Honestly, besides the romance, and unlike most people who wanna find Solas to have their crafted gear back, the first thing I might tell to Solas once we find him would probably be "FINISH THE DAMN FRESCO! You suck at making good decisions, just stick to your brushes and color tubes, and please paint the whole damn castle if that could stop you from ****** EVERYTHING UP ONCE MORE!"
Like for real, he's a great painter, my castle would look so rad.

Plus imagine the value that a genuine Fen 'Harel fresco would add to your real estate...

Good point. I think Solas needs concealer to hide the freckles.

My preferred option would be to kiss them away... I'm sure he would agree...

Yeah, Cole gets excited when he learns about it, since she's similar to his situation, but on the opposite side.  Himself being a spirit who touched a human, and Cass being a human who touched a spirit.  The general gist there I think is that Cass gained special abilities from coming in contact with a spirit.

LETS NOT AND SAY WE DIDNT.

Seriously, we had this argument like 1000 pages ago. Nope. Let's not go there again.

Please don't tell me what I can say or what I can respond to. We're all/mostly adults in this thread, right? Adults should be able to have discussions even if they have different opinions about things. And why is it that I'm getting told to stop when all I'm doing is stating facts, anyway?

I'm not saying it's invalid... I'm saying I find it highly unlikely.

Patrick Weekes can say what he likes, but like the broodmother issue, it doesn't really match with what is actually there. In my opinion.

Patrick Weekes is the writer for Solas; there is absolutely nothing in game that contradicts someone saying their Inquisitor and Solas never slept together, so I don't see how it could possibly be a "naive" headcanon. Why do you think it's naive?

Wait what, we have a clique in this thread?  :(  I always thought that the Solas thread was one of the most friendly and open to all threads on the BSN, maybe the internet in general.  I gave up my not participating on forums stance because of this thread.  I have lurked for yeaaaarrrsssssss.

I only skimmed the disagreement from earlier, so I really shouldn't comment.  I apologize if I am getting it wrong.  This thread has been running for a long time.  Some of the old guard regular folks aren't as active as they used to be.  And it used to be better about being on topic and things like that.  I don't have a problem with it.  I understand that we're in a bit of a lull right now because the game has been out for a few months and we have no new information.

I seem to be a drama magnet :(.  Judging by the chatter today there hasn't been a disagreement in this thread since around the last time I was active.  (I wasn't a part of it, just saying that it happened!)

Mims advice is great advice;  I always try to quote the person I am responding to so it hopefully makes it easier for them to see it.  Some people have their forum settings to notify when they've been quoted.  The thread does move crazy fast.  I don't think anyone actively ignores newbies.  I really didn't see this thread as cliquey.  But I do know we're like mama bears out of hibernation if someone is being disrespected in any way.

There is a tiny bit of duality with Flemythal. Flemeth seems to be the primary personality. She refers to Mythal as "she" and "her" when talking to the Quiz in the Fade. If Mythal were the dominant personality, I imagine she'd be referring to Flemeth as "she" and "her" when talking about when they were separate. Whether this is intentional, or a quirk of the story (Flemeth is dominant because we know her, and it would be confusing if suddenly she switched to being Mythal-dominant), I can't say and it doesn't really matter. I do think one of the reasons Flemythal are so inseparable is because they had similar goals and personalities. Whereas Anders and Justice were not quite aligned in ideals and thus could not completely join.

SO if Solas and Mythal are sharing souls and not just power, I think we'll see something more like the Anders/Justice situation.
