True that, it's not everyday an Elven God paints masterpieces on your castle's walls.
COME BACK SOLAS, THERE'S SO MANY WALLS THAT AWAITS YOU!
Not to mention, medium aside, he does those frescoes darn fast! I mean, I go talk to him and the rotunda has bare walls, we go talk in the Fade and smooch some, I wake up and the rotunda is like 1/3 covered already.

No, he literally said he intentionally left it ambiguous so the player could decide whether or not they had sex. If Weekes hadn't wanted it to be ambiguous, he very easily could have made it obvious one way or the other.
Yeah, this. I think they did...in *my* canon. But I'm happy that it was left ambiguous and up to the player to decide.

Solas needs to come back and finish that fresco.
And I'm out of Likes. *sigh*

Patrick Weekes is the writer for Solas; there is absolutely nothing in game that contradicts someone saying their Inquisitor and Solas never slept together, so I don't see how it could possibly be a "naive" headcanon. Why do you think it's naive?
Because I find it hard to believe a couple that plays grab ass and talks about "side benefits" isn't doing the mattress tango... that's why for me personally, it's naive.
Or a better word might be idealistic, if that makes you feel better.
And because I noticed that Bioware's pulling the punches lately, and that I know a lot of people would be upset and make a big deal about Solas possibly having influence over the woman he's sleeping with, meaning I don't put much stock in what Bioware tells us in general, over what I actually see.
In fact, didn't they say directly that they avoided a scene for that reason? Anyway, I don't think one needs to see a sex scene to know there's sexing going on. In my opinion, the signs are there.

So jealous of PC players right now, but glad it's in the works at any rate. Can't wait to tinker with my Lavellan's bulging forehead. Please report back and tell us console players how awesome it is. Scratch that; it is a no-no. Thanks for letting me know. ![]()

There is a tiny bit of duality with Flemythal. Flemeth seems to be the primary personality. She refers to Mythal as "she" and "her" when talking to the Quiz in the Fade.
That's to make a point, I think. I will refer to my Lavellan sometimes as "me" and sometimes as "her", but it is all the same. I do it to clearly distinguish if necessary, but in fact there is no "me" and "her", it is all only me.
so I don't see how it could possibly be a "naive" headcanon. Why do you think it's naive?
Because he's the Colonel, get over it. ![]()
Headcanon is always correct, no matter what. If you picture Solas with green eyes and long hair, that's correct too. That's why we call it "headcanon" in the first place. It's your experience and whatever anybody else says, don't let him wind you up for it.

LET US ALL BE FRIENDS. We're here because mutual interests are great! WOOO! YEEAH! VIDEO GAMES. SOLAS!
*yanks everyones hands together, binds with duct tape, proceeds to spin us in an erratic, happy, leaping circle around a bronzed statue of Solas crying over his shattered orb*
Crazy nekkid dancing around the statue of an old elven god? I'm in.

*gives everyone fresh lipgloss*

No no.O_O
I so liked your dry sarcasm and was so disappointed you didn't get me. But this?!
Well, I was a very special snowflake, at least.
I came off a bad experience in another thread. I was a terrible version of myself and it ruined my feelings about the BSN and it ruined people's opinions of me.
I saw the Solas thread as accepting and I used it to change and atone. A fresh start. But then you guys started coming being all blunt and sarcastic and dry and witty (my people, I found them!) and I was so busy trying to be gentle and positive and encouraging that I thought it would be easier to put on ignore rather than risk being baited into responding the way I wanted to.
I'm sure that doesn't make any sense to anyone but it's the best way I can explain. I thought in order to be likable I had to not be myself. I can be myself and people still like me. I just can't be ****** me.
Nevermind work is out and I'm not making any sense except I love you guys.

You know, I'm not sure. The language even for this announcement is somewhat vague. "If you were successful in joining the beta," and "If you clicked past the NDA," but of course everyone would have done that.
Nooooo! I've missed it?!
Yes, I'm sorry. The sign-ups were open and closed very quickly yesterday.

I agree there are some great people here but i can kinda understand the newbie angsnt. This thread is run by the popular posters, sorta like a click. Person X posts, 10 people want to respond, newbie post get forgotten except for the ones that annoy that click. Boom drama.
I'm sorry if you're feeling like your posts are ignored. If you have something to say though, go ahead and say it! This may not be comforting coming from me but I'll make an effort to be around and try to catch the people getting left in the dust.
If you mean that I'm a newbie trolling though? I uh, I've been here since uh... page 360? and I was asking people to stay more on topic. It wasn't trolling.
Bringing back my two great contributions to the thread ![]()

Wait what, we have a clique in this thread?
I always thought that the Solas thread was one of the most friendly and open to all threads on the BSN, maybe the internet in general. I gave up my not participating on forums stance because of this thread. I have lurked for yeaaaarrrsssssss.
I only skimmed the disagreement from earlier, so I really shouldn't comment. I apologize if I am getting it wrong. This thread has been running for a long time. Some of the old guard regular folks aren't as active as they used to be. And it used to be better about being on topic and things like that. I don't have a problem with it. I understand that we're in a bit of a lull right now because the game has been out for a few months and we have no new information.
I seem to be a drama magnet
. Judging by the chatter today there hasn't been a disagreement in this thread since around the last time I was active. (I wasn't a part of it, just saying that it happened!)
Mims advice is great advice; I always try to quote the person I am responding to so it hopefully makes it easier for them to see it. Some people have their forum settings to notify when they've been quoted. The thread does move crazy fast. I don't think anyone actively ignores newbies. I really didn't see this thread as cliquey. But I do know we're like mama bears out of hibernation if someone is being disrespected in any way.
I meant no offense, its only my opinion. Hell maybe ive just been put on alot of ignore list lol

There are no cliques, just active posters that people perceive as more popular than others, true or not. And if there is a clique, I'm certainly not in it like what was suggested.

Nah, that was just speculation/people being glad there wasn't a scene for that reason.
You can be very physically close with someone/make sexual jokes and not have sex with them... and since it's not like Inquisition takes years, they really haven't known/been involved with each other for all that long before Solas leaves. I don't think it's unreasonable for a couple like them to not be having sex, whether or not it was planned to happen in the future.

I'm not saying it's invalid... I'm saying I find it highly unlikely.
How is it unlikely?
Patrick Weekes can say what he likes, but like the broodmother issue, it doesn't really match with what is actually there. In my opinion.
Patrick Weekes is the writer. He's privy to the characters' innermost thoughts and motivations, not just what he chooses to allow us the viewer to see on screen. Besides, what we see on-screen is no more than kissing and hand-holding (and a well-placed grope by Solas on one occasion; two if you count the flycam.) That doesn't necessarily equal "They're totally doing it!" to me.
You can have whatever headcanon you wish. I still think it's naive. *shrug* It's not like I'm saying you're factually wrong.
How is it "naive" to think that if the character we crafted wasn't ready or interested, and there's nothing in the game that says we have to, Solas didn't force the issue and/or have a problem waiting?

I was active back when the game first came out and haven't been able to get back to the thread until just now, basically. Lol well, that's perfectly fine
I really don't care that much for the topic... it's just an opinion I have and stand by, and people are free to disagree and dismiss it, as always.
It's called a headcanon for a reason. It's like an opinion, opinions can't be wrong. But one can think that an opinion is poorly formed. I find the headcanon of Solas and Cassandra having possible chemistry beyond mutual respect faulty... doesn't mean it's wrong.
