Solasmancing has flew straight passed Alister's, and I'm still debating whether or not it's better (in terms of story) than Garrus' romance.
I found out because I tried to get to the beta forums link and it worked. And in Origin there's a new tile for the beta.
If you got in, you should be able to access the beta forums. The beta itself should show up for download in Origin.

Why is it when there is a disagreement, lurkers come out and post to complain after haven't posting for weeks?
It's quite possible that they feel strongly about the issues being discussed and are happy to see someone arguing a point they agree with...

As for writing and art contribution, well, my art skills aren't even acceptable. The best I can do are chibi sketches or just plain sketches which leave much to be desired. I, however, am no stranger to fan fiction. Even so, I'm an OCD, self-critical perfectionist, so most of what I write hasn't seen the light of day, or if it has it needs a mighty dose of improvement. I haven't written any Dragon Age fan fiction yet, but I plan on it, when my schedule permits.
Please share whatever you will be willing to, it's always awesome to see what people can create based on our shared love for a character.
And welcome around, even though I'm pretty new myself (well, been lurking for a while as well, but decided to partake into the fluffiness today, mostly because I need support to get over my Solasmance, or people who at least understand it.)

Not for nothing Solas has a sizable asexual fanbase (self included), since here's a romance where asexuals can enjoy fantasizing about a sweet romantic relationship without a mandatory sex scene (*cough* all DA2 romances sans Sebastian), or feel like our characters were eventually pressured to have sex to placate their partner. (Yeah, you can politely turn down Dorian or the DAO companion who invites you into their tent, but they're pretty disappointed, so you know your character will have to give in eventually. While all relationships require compromise, many romantic asexuals deal with it enough in real life they don't necessarily like having to deal with it in their romantic fantasies.)
I totally agree with that. In my headcanon run, my Quizzie would most definitely be sexually interested by Solas, but not necessarily acted on it yet. I define myself as a demisexual, so, strong emotional and intellectual connections are needed for me to actually be sexually attracted to someone. And even when that bond is established, I'm not sure I would have liked to have a mandatory sex scene with him, because I'm not sure she would already have had sex with him, or would plan to have it when she'll meet him again and reconcile/finally get to know who he really is. It's not clear in my head, and doesn't have to be anyway.
I'm glad they also thought about asexuals, giving them the option to romance a character without having to go through a mandatory sex scene. Sex & Romance don't have to go hands in hands. And to me, the most brilliant thing of it all is that, even without a sex scene, and very few romance scenes, Solas romance is so amazing it still managed to leave a mark on us like no other.

You can be very physically close with someone/make sexual jokes and not have sex with them... and since it's not like Inquisition takes years, they really haven't known/been involved with each other for all that long before Solas leaves. I don't think it's unreasonable for a couple like them to not be having sex, whether or not it was planned to happen in the future.
We don't actually know the time span for Inquisition. It's pretty deliberately vague, and I've seen anything from a couple months to three years tossed out there. And obviously there has to be a bit of suspension of disbelief considering how much time quizzy can waste running all over southern Thedas to get mosaic pieces or stupid shards.
I am exactly here. Garrus and Solas neck in neck and Alistair just got pushed back. Time will tell I suppose.
Garrus is still my favorite, but he has the admittedly unfair advantages of 1) 3 games of character development, 2) not dumping me and 3) being Turian Batman. Solas has a long way to go on the first two, and I don't think he'll ever pull off being Batman

On the bolded, I was actually just talking about this with a friend the other day. It can feel a little alienating for asexuals that enjoy BioWare/video game romances but resent the forced sex scenes. (Much like in real life. Asexuals make up only an estimated 1% of the population, so the odds of us finding another asexual or demisexual who is romantically compatible in terms of personality, life goals, moral values, personal beliefs, etc. is very low, so we kind of have to turn to the sexual crowd for romantic attachment, which causes guessable frustrations.)

Jesus, I thought this beta thing would be a simple update, not a big fat download... Would have started earlier if I knew that... sigh.
About Solavellan doing the thing, in my headcanon they did, but I can see why they left it open to interpretation. I don't actually starve for naked pixels anyway even if Solas got a booty and Solas smut has been great in fics.
If in the future they give us the chance to actually have a sex scene in game I won't complain, though. 
It shouldn't be mandatory to continue the romance, of course, but it would give us an actual choice aside from headcanon, so it would be nice.

My two cents... I don't talk much..I don't even talk much to people who I consider my friends. I'm perfectly happy reading everything you all talk about. If I actually do have something to say, I feel very comfortable saying it. I know you all won't bash me or make fun of me. This is really the only thread on the internet that I feel comfortable in. The only time I have ever been upset in this thread was maybe a week ago when people were talking about "hating" Solas. It bothers me when people in a fan thread start hating on the character they are supposed to like. Anyway... that didn't last long. None of the "arguments" in here last long. I also love that everyone in here is rather mature. I ramble a lot, my point is...I love this thread. I really don't understand why people would want to leave. I've been coming here for months now and I've never been uncomfortable enough to leave. I'm a very VERY sensitive person. I dunno..I just don't get it.
And I bet I have at least two more pages to read since I started typing this.....

Yep. I did as well, and then after a random ME spree (as does happen), I thought I'd go back to the old Garrus thread (that had an amazing community like this one) to see how everyone was, and was met with it all shut down. I made a post and one of the active posters on the Miranda board actually apologized, and explained the situation.
In short, the board was divided into two very different opinions to the point where they attempted to split to another thread altogether (I assume this means there was then two Miranda threads floating around), it got ugly and it was all shut down not long after. A shame.
