Oh this is actually Bioware stealing an old riddle.

 

The original goes: A woman meets a man at her mother's funeral and she falls in love with him, but knows nothing else about him. Two weeks later, she kills her sister. Why?

The one known quantity here about the person you meet at the funeral is that you know they will attend the funeral of a member of your family, so the most certain course of action you have given complete lack of any other means through which to divine their identity is to replicate the circumstances of the original encounter

Thanks for that!! It's such a dark and twisted messed up thing and I wonder how much of it is true in regards to Solas/Fen'Harel. Love it.

So my dear Colonel, just as you think a lot of the 'Solas and Lavellan did not make make the elf with two backs' crowd are projecting their own values, you're doing the same thing.

As for the 'Bioware pulling their punches', to some extent, I'd agree.

But when it comes to lovers lying about who they are and taking advantage, Blackwall does sleep with the Inquisitor, and then leave them naked in the barn in the morning while he goes off to his execution, yes?

Playing grab ass I could see, though if I'm doing that with a woman, and she lets me, its because I fully intend to go further and that's a sign that one, I want to, and two, that she does too.

 

But what other side benefits would there be to sleeping in the same bed with someone... Now, before someone says it, yes I know it can be interpreted differently, if you want... but to me, it's a stretch, as is the believability that a couple with no such background as a mormons that is acting this way isn't banging.

 

I'm not saying it isn't possible... I'm saying it's pretty unlikely, or that it's a rather large stretch. Really, when I brought this up, the idea wasn't being treated like a headcanon, so much as it was truth, enough to where people would remind someone that they shouldn't assume Solas and Lavellan had sex. See, that's more than a headcanon then, when you check other people for the possibility that you see.

That was me. Even though I finished the game with a character (nonromanced), I tried to spam Esc to get through the credits, then abandoned it partway through because it wasn't working. So I missed the important part and got to see that on the second playthrough where I did romance Solas.

I've mentioned this more than once, but we have new folks.  I had intended my first PT to do all of the things before I got to the end, but then the last romance scene happened and I was so broken I had to rush to the end of the game because I just wanted it over!  Then the after credits scene happened and I was worse.  I was one of those that initially interpreted it as

because I am such a pessimist I totally went for the absolute worst possible way it could play out.  I was sick to my stomach!  Post-game depression for almost a solid week.  My fiance didn't know what to do with me.  But he hates spoilers so I couldn't tell him anything.  Basically video game bf broke my heart was all I could say.

Looking back now I kinda wish I knew so that it would have taken some of the edge off.  It still would have hurt.

By the way this reminds me. I never really understood Fen'Harel's answer in this story. Would someone care to shed the light on this one?

 

The only way he'd be able to meet her again is at the funeral of the king's other daughter (since she was at the first one it's likely she'd be at the second).  It's a very pragmatic answer, just not a very nice one.

Same here; my canon run is Cullemance because I love me some fluffy, but Solas romance is worth every second.

Worth every second, though I'm glad i got Cullen romanced before Solas.

 

I already have a character planned for Cullen. And Cassandra. And Josephine. And obviously I have Solas', too. Although, it's more along the lines of I have a name and I basic idea of how they'll be for me to build on. Inquisition is going to be my stress reliever while I prepare panic for my ACT and college enrollment. 

 

Edit: I also intend to do someone for Dorian. I just haven't decided on, well, anything yet. x3

I do see where you're coming from.

As I recall, RumbleCon 2015 in the Solas thread was caused by the use of 'naive' when referring to people's headcanons back in the days when the thread hadn't quite adjusted itself to your bracing presence.   I was familiar with you from other threads, so I spent my time in the background facepalming and thinking, "Maker's breath, everyone, we can get along. Everyone (this was before Sable mastered her misery-mongering abilities! ) can get along. Fine, let's see if the theory-crafters are around."

I think there's just enough evidence to go either way, which is fine. I just object to other people objecting to other people's headcanons, I guess. My first Lavellan who was abandoned because I accidentally made her without a Keep Import didn't dunk the egg so to speak, while my second Lavellan most likely did. I'm a little too frightened of her to ask. 

Avejajed/Dejajave/Jess/One third of the Solas thread's OTT: Yeah, I always seem to be a few pages after trolls and/or squabbles have been dealt with.  It's probably for the better. If the person was annoying enough, well...
