I'm a profane atheist that has offended many people over a short number of years, that spits on the idea of it being the Department of Defense rather than War, because Newspeak, that is a big fan of barbarian culture and history and has more than a little in my own ancestry, I've been known to frequently troll acquaintances*, and I tend to brutally expand against my poor neighbors in many strategy games. (Admittedly, I usually fail and pretend that our innocent parade got lost and was cruelly cut down by the powerful micro-state of Andorra.) So, yeah. 

Wait, did you mean since when have I gone to other threads? Eww, no! 

*I once managed to convince almost an entire class of high schoolers that I was expelled from my middle school for sending the principal Photoshopped nudes of Adolf Hitler as  form of protest against his totalitarian regime. It was originally just an off-the-cuff joke, but then to my astonishment the students there who didn't know me well bought it completely. A few weeks later, it's brought up in Spanish class, and the Spanish teacher gleefully helped me convince the class that it was true, save for my own intelligent friend there that was facepalming the entire time and explaining, "Y'all are idjits, y'know?"

I learned that I'm good at improv in certain situations. When they asked me how I Photoshopped it, (I know nothing about Photoshop.) I distracted them by opening with, "Well, I took a photo of a Hungarian man-"

"Why Hungarian?"

"Why, because pornography is one of Hungary's main exports, along with meat and Magyar invasions! *cue very knowledgable sounding bullcrap session*"

 

In other news, almost done with the Orlais map. Not sure if my profile is still working on the wiki, but we'll find out.

I do see where you're coming from.

As I recall, RumbleCon 2015 in the Solas thread was caused by the use of 'naive' when referring to people's headcanons back in the days when the thread hadn't quite adjusted itself to your bracing presence.   I was familiar with you from other threads, so I spent my time in the background facepalming and thinking, "Maker's breath, everyone, we can get along. Everyone (this was before Sable mastered her misery-mongering abilities! ) can get along. Fine, let's see if the theory-crafters are around."

I think there's just enough evidence to go either way, which is fine. I just object to other people objecting to other people's headcanons, I guess. My first Lavellan who was abandoned because I accidentally made her without a Keep Import didn't dunk the egg so to speak, while my second Lavellan most likely did. I'm a little too frightened of her to ask. 

Avejajed/Dejajave/Jess/One third of the Solas thread's OTT: Yeah, I always seem to be a few pages after trolls and/or squabbles have been dealt with.  It's probably for the better. If the person was annoying enough, well...

JOKER: Grunt is not a...stabilizing element, Commander.

The forumites have politely ignored the trolls that have hit that button, though. 

 

Yes, I remember the last time we were going through this, I forgot to use a different term. Naive is admittedly too condescending, though I imagine people will take it that way even if I said Idealistic.

 

Blah blah, whatever, like Addai said, people can think what they want. I don't think anyone here is stupid or anything for having a headcanon that I don't agree with, and I have my idealistic beliefs as well, especially concerning Cassandra and her divine gig. So it's whatever.

Heyyo, everyone. *Waves.* I'm new, which is likely pretty obvious. I've been observing lurking for the past thousand pages or so. I'm new to the Dragon Age fandom in general. I was inducted in early January, although I owned Origins and had known a good deal about it for well nigh a year. I joined these forums...not quite a month ago, I believe? Thus I'm quite new. I blazed through Origins right after Christmas, then 2 not long after - both of which have completely stolen my heart - and if all goes as planned I will have Inquisition next week. I think it goes without saying, with where I'm posting, who it is I plan to romance. He wasn't my original plan, actually. I had intended to go with Cullen as my first playthrough. But, well... I heard some things about him, investigated his character, accidentally learned a few spoilers, and then...it was all downhill from there. He's stolen Alistair's place as my favorite video game love interest, and I haven't even played the game yet... Goodness, I'm ridiculous. Sorry. Rambling is a habit of mine.

 

I decided to post here first because from all I've seen, you people seem some of the nicest and awesomest. Honestly, I probably should have waited until I'm actually playing Inquisition to post. However, I thought it would be wise to claim a spot in the blanket fort in preparation for damned hellspiral. Also, if I need advice or have questions, I don't doubt you all will be extremely helpful.

 

Any-who, I'll try my best to contribute in discussions. I'm just not as lore savvy as the rest of you lovely people, so you'll have to forgive my ignorance in advance. Nonetheless, I absolutely adore reading all these theories and speculations and lore bits! I love expanding my knowledge and learning about all these topics, so thank you so much! Not to mention all the funnies and fluff and, well, obviously Solas oriented things. 

 

As for writing and art contribution, well, my art skills aren't even acceptable. The best I can do are chibi sketches or just plain sketches which leave much to be desired. I, however, am no stranger to fan fiction. Even so, I'm an OCD, self-critical perfectionist, so most of what I write hasn't seen the light of day, or if it has it needs a mighty dose of improvement. I haven't written any Dragon Age fan fiction yet, but I plan on it, when my schedule permits.

 

Anyway, I just want to say that what little time I have spent on this forum has been beyond enjoyable. You all are bloody amazing, beautiful people, and I hope I can work past my shy, awkward social shortcomings and get to know all of you. 

 

I'm out of likes (so at least 73 posts in a dozen pages should have my support but cannot!) but I did want to specifically express my liking of the idea of ancient elvhen chibi sketches.  Just picturing Solas and Abelas chibi is mashing my squee button.  I...may have a weakness.  Hell, one tiny Fenris all but did me in!
