Behold, my terrible Gimp skills.
This is too awesome.
There's something funky going on with my likes... seems like they're trickling in at random. Anyone else experiencing this? At any rate, LIKE.
Might as well post the bits I did about my Solavellan ship a few weeks ago.
One comes from the fact that during my first playthrough, even though I couldn't romance Solas, I spent a lot of time going to the Rotunda, to start a conversation (even if I had nothing new to learn/say), and leave as soon as I could just to hear him say "Goodbye". I don't know, it's so sad and heartbreaking when he says it everytime, I can't help doing it. It became a private joke with my boyfriend, so when he leaves in the morning, he looks at me in such tragic way and says that exact same "Goodbye" and it cracks me up everytime (We're both Solas fans, obviously).
On my second (romanced) playthrough, I ended up going to the Rotunda and engage a lot with him even if I had nothing to ask, just to hear him say "Vhenan" or "My heart". Could be pretty disappointing when I'd get the "Hello" greeting instead >_>
Yeah, guess I like to go through that damn Rotunda everytime I can.
Currently working on a tarot card for my Inquisitor, with of course the special appearance of a tiny wolf. How original am I!
Lovely art! And I may be guilty of spamming Solas until I can get him to utter that breathy "my heart". And then I melt a little and carry on my merry way.
He does brush off Humaney!Cole's question about 'Have you seen this before?' and poor Cole gets confused.
And the comment about, 'Maybe the gods were mages, or spirits, or something we haven't seen before," suggests a combination of the two to me. As does the apparent ease of Mythal existing with Flemeth.
Agreed. I think there were/are probably several different forms of existence for the Elven gods, rather than one way that they all were. Just like Solas says, some may have simply been powerful mages, others may have been spirits, and others some kind of combination. Hopefully we'll find out. I would really, really love to meet the cray-cray Elven pantheon.
Until we're told otherwise, I tend to believe that Solas in particular is exactly who he appears to be. I don't think the fact that he dodges Cole's question indicates that he is the thing Cole questions him about. I think it's more that Solas feels he can only fall back on ~*THE FADE*~ to explain all his knowledge of things he presents as solid fact so often without worrying people will become suspicious.
So for me, I tend to think as far as Solas is concerned, there's been no body-hopping, no I used to be Solas but then some Fen'Harel guy jumped into my brain, etc. etc. I could certainly be wrong--there are solid arguments in support of conflicting theories--but the main thing that makes me think he is simply a powerful, ancient Elven mage with two names (by whatever means that came to be [resisting urge to leap into that discussion]), is I feel the writers wouldn't offer him as a love interest otherwise. If in their shoes, I would be concerned about the potentially strong negative reactions from players who've romanced him, when eventually finding out otherwise. It's kind of a squicky idea, no? "SURPRISE! You've been mackin' on a skin puppet! Who is he really? Are you in love with this guy, or that guy? Does whatever husk will remain if Fen'Harel leaves remember you or love you back? Who knows!"
At any rate, I'm really looking forward to finding out more. Dat Solas'Harel.
I'm out of likes but I'm fond of the idea of him being in his original form too. The theory that he isn't has just as much merit but I really like the idea of him being (mostly) what we saw in game.
*high fives*
Edited post for grammar.
