Btw I found this video on Youtube by DanaDuchy the other day and I'm not sure if it was posted here before. So apparently, the Inquisitor have an one-on-one special treatment with Solas after the Therinfal Redoubt Quest but somehow the devs decide to cut it.

Well if you just replace the male voice with the female inquisitor voice.....

Solas: Just look at me, Inquisitor!!!

Lavellan: well, don't mind if I do

Woah, I wonder why was this cut? :(
Would have made a sweet scene with a Lavellan.. somewhat a way to make them bond more before the fade kiss >.<

I am disappoint

Agree.  When Cassandra was like 'THE THE LAST OF THE WARDENS. BLARG" - I was all 'who? where? what is going on??" also the ENTIRE Inquisition force was apparently there during that quest.  I only noticed it when I had subtitles on during my 2nd PT and it was Fiona, I was looking around going "hey, where you at girl??"

This is why I watch hubby play--I get to see what the hell was going on while I was busy dodging fireballs, arrows, and big pointy metal objects. "Ooh, look at how great the trees are in that little glade! I didn't realize those were Wardens. You can totally see their armor. Isn't that Leliana? Look how tall the elves are! Whoops! You should look out for those giant lyrium beasts, dear."

On Topic: Solas taking a bubble bath . . . in the Elvhen Ruins, when Dorian pops out of a bush for "Elvhen Ruin bath bro-time" in a toga clutching his special bath duck. Solas is not amused.

Then Iron Bull crashes through the hedge yelling "CANNON BALL" and proceeds to drench all three of them in a tidal wave of lilac-scented soapy water.  Dorian's toga is ruined.  Solas is still grumpy.  They team up against Bull, who is chased naked from the bath by two angry mages and a soap demon.

This is now headcanon.

The shampoo is really, really good as a cleansing shampoo when you need to get the build-up out of your hair.

(Is it okay as a daily shampoo or is it too strong of a clarifying? I have oily hair and need a three times a week shampoo)

On topic: I want to see the Elven Baths of Exalted Plains when they were at their prime.

I only shampoo three times a week--I have super thick hair that can get oily. I had no problem using it as a daily. But, if you have color-treated hair, I wouldn't use it as a daily. Although , it is great for using right before you dye your hair.

So, it's really great for oily hair. Truly.

On topic: Josephine actually procuring a marble bath for the Inquisitor. The Inquisitor is really smooth about making sure the tub is big enough for two (or three, because just in case. One should be prepared). Super smooth--like Solas's head.

Therinfal Redoubt spoiler

My impression (and I could be totally wrong since it's been a while) is that Envy's dream is like entering Feynriel's mind back in DA2, when it's under assault from demons.  Envy tries to possess quizzy by overthrowing his/her mind, and the whole dream sequence is a representation of quizzy fighting back with Cole in tow.

Ah thanks, I panicked for a second! I've been working on the theory of the Fade being a collective "mental" consciousness. If Envy's goal is to take over the material body of the Inquisitor, that would mean hitching a ride on the causality between mental state and physical event (if subscribing to a type of dualism). The experience of conflict with Envy "in the mind" can be seen as Envy seeping into parts of the internal material brain, parts which correlate to physical stimuli and behavioural responses (which behavourists would argue are mental states) but which do not connect with nonphysical cognitive realizations, such as belief - equally functional in regards to causality (think software and hardware).

Got it, I think, maybe? >.<

What theories in particular are you referring to? You don't have to completely decouple classes of cognitive processes. You can influence one sensory filter or even brain region without impairing another, they are not proportionally or directly connected. I think in general it is too complex to draw clear boundaries. It's also difficult to ignore hormonal tides when thinking about perception/awareness etc..

And I still think any theory is strengthened if we do not disregard sensory gating. I believe that could already account for a lot when assuming a "mental consciousness".

Behold, my terrible Gimp skills.

Spoiler

This is too awesome. :D There's something funky going on with my likes... seems like they're trickling in at random. Anyone else experiencing this? At any rate, LIKE.

Might as well post the bits I did about my Solavellan ship a few weeks ago.

One comes from the fact that during my first playthrough, even though I couldn't romance Solas, I spent a lot of time going to the Rotunda, to start a conversation (even if I had nothing new to learn/say), and leave as soon as I could just to hear him say "Goodbye". I don't know, it's so sad and heartbreaking when he says it everytime, I can't help doing it. It became a private joke with my boyfriend, so when he leaves in the morning, he looks at me in such tragic way and says that exact same "Goodbye" and it cracks me up everytime (We're both Solas fans, obviously).

On my second (romanced) playthrough, I ended up going to the Rotunda and engage a lot with him even if I had nothing to ask, just to hear him say "Vhenan" or "My heart". Could be pretty disappointing when I'd get the "Hello" greeting instead >_>

Yeah, guess I like to go through that damn Rotunda everytime I can.

Spoiler

Currently working on a tarot card for my Inquisitor, with of course the special appearance of a tiny wolf. How original am I! :pinched:

Lovely art! And I may be guilty of spamming Solas until I can get him to utter that breathy "my heart". And then I melt a little and carry on my merry way.

He does brush off Humaney!Cole's question about 'Have you seen this before?' and poor Cole gets confused.

And the comment about, 'Maybe the gods were mages, or spirits, or something we haven't seen before," suggests a combination of the two to me. As does the apparent ease of Mythal existing with Flemeth.

Agreed. I think there were/are probably several different forms of existence for the Elven gods, rather than one way that they all were. Just like Solas says, some may have simply been powerful mages, others may have been spirits, and others some kind of combination. Hopefully we'll find out. I would really, really love to meet the cray-cray Elven pantheon.

Until we're told otherwise, I tend to believe that Solas in particular is exactly who he appears to be. I don't think the fact that he dodges Cole's question indicates that he is the thing Cole questions him about. I think it's more that Solas feels he can only fall back on ~*THE FADE*~ to explain all his knowledge of things he presents as solid fact so often without worrying people will become suspicious.

So for me, I tend to think as far as Solas is concerned, there's been no body-hopping, no I used to be Solas but then some Fen'Harel guy jumped into my brain, etc. etc. I could certainly be wrong--there are solid arguments in support of conflicting theories--but the main thing that makes me think he is simply a powerful, ancient Elven mage with two names (by whatever means that came to be [resisting urge to leap into that discussion]), is I feel the writers wouldn't offer him as a love interest otherwise. If in their shoes, I would be concerned about the potentially strong negative reactions from players who've romanced him, when eventually finding out otherwise. It's kind of a squicky idea, no? "SURPRISE! You've been mackin' on a skin puppet! Who is he really? Are you in love with this guy, or that guy? Does whatever husk will remain if Fen'Harel leaves remember you or love you back? Who knows!"

At any rate, I'm really looking forward to finding out more. Dat Solas'Harel.

I'm out of likes but I'm fond of the idea of him being in his original form too. The theory that he isn't has just as much merit but I really like the idea of him being (mostly) what we saw in game.

*high fives*

Edited post for grammar.

I'm reminded of the classic episode of Frasier where Frasier's radio station held an old-timey murder mystery, but everything went disastrously wrong. Among other things, Roz came in after a dentist appointment where her entire mouth was still numbed, and had to struggle through lines like, "But werh is dis muldiple murberer?"

I know I should feel bad for Blackwall whenever Vivienne mocks him, but I just wind up rooting for Viv.  I adore her even when she's being awful.

There's always one companion each Dragon Age game whom I decide it's fun to mock.  First poor Nathaniel, then Sebastian, now Blackwall.  It's not that I don't like the characters, I do.  I just really like making fun of them  :D Especially Blackwall.

I'm on Team Wait and See.

Also trying to romance Blackwall is really hard, because he looks like my dad, how do people get past that.

I think of Santa Claus when I see him his rosy cheeks ...yep.

I'm on Team Already Moved onto the new hottness(Would click the "You move on" button so fast)

Truthfully, I'm like you. I've come up with dozens of absolutely horrifying scenarios so I'm not surprised.

Re Blackwall: Urk.  I wouldn't romance him.

Then I gotta know if a few of you have moved on and are not on the optimistic team...why are ya'll still here in the Solas thread?...Hmmm?

Did someone say 'Team Optimism'?

I tried to put them both in my banter once. I ended up getting rid of both, they kept making snarking subtle-but-not-subtle remarks at eachother, and I wasn't in the mood to indulge such negativity. I wonder though, who Vivienne isn't awful to?
