I heard about it but I can't pin point where it started. 

I think it started in the Cass thread last night.  The person who made the mod posted about it and it went from there.

Ugh, yeah, I heard about it. And immediately downloaded it to support the modder.

I just don't see the big deal. It's a MOD, it's NOT infringing on canon. You'd have to be delusional to believe your mod was canon.

I chose PC specifically so I could mod. Mods extends game longevity - look at how long Skyrim has stuck around because user-created content is such a huge part of the community. Just make a note of whether or not the mod is lore-friendly or not. That's... all. Different people play for different reasons. Insisting that a game can only be played one way, when it's made specifically for users to roleplay, self-insert, etc. is contradictory.

Also - there is now a Solas romances EVERYONE mod. Just like there were bisexual Alistair and Morrigan mods. It's cool. It's a mod. Don't like it? Don't download it. If you do like it, click that "get it get it" button so hard your mouse breaks.

No one forces ANYONE to download a mod. Or to accept their head canon as the sole only acceptable truth. That's the Qun y'all. 

I agree.  I'm not much into modding.  But I do see both sides of it.  Harassment and hate is NOT ok though.  Like you said, don't like it, don't download it.  I understand to a point why folks take issue with it -- it mostly has to do with changing a character's sexual orientation.  I'm just saying that i understand why some folks were upset.  Not that i agree with them, or in any way condone the actions that were a result of it.

 Feel free to talk about Solas as a friend!! Solas as whatever.  It's for people who want to talk about Solas and have fun doing so!!!  I hope you have fun with the mod and the romance(errr...not the whole romance).   The thread is *pretty* chill.

If you don't mind the company, it's a nice place to hang. Better than other places.

I was originally going to romance Solas with a male Lavellan, you won't hear any complaints from me.   

 

I don't mod, particularly because I play on PS3, but sometimes they sound nice.
