So, shapeshifting:

 

 

A skill of Flemeth's, Yavana, Morrigan, and Dalish Keepers, and possibly all ancient elves, and if you reach the "Master Shapeshifter" skill in DAO, you're able to turn into a tainted creature (bereskarn or corrupted spider). But you're able to control the Blight, turn it off once you change form once again and it's no longer necessary.

I would think you take on the appearance of a blighted creature but not the taint itself. Otherwise you would essentially summon it out of thin air and banish it again with a flick of your fingers. I know mage are OP in Origins but that's...a bit much.

But if it's just a change in appearance, then it would be an illusion, and the way it works in DAO, it doesn't look like an illusion. The mage actually transforms their body into those of other creatures'. They maintain their consciousness of course, but their bodies become completely different, and how do you take on a blighted creature's form without also taking in the blight? And it's only masters who can take on blighted forms, so while it's OP, only a handful of mages get to reach that rank.

It is seriously the most comfortable sweater/jacket thing I own. So warm.

I don't know, I only had Morrigan a shapeshifter and did not know she could take on blighted forms. I never upgraded that skill. Maybe the taint does not infect the body like a virus etc. Maybe it is not carried by blood in the first place. If it affects the brain first and then spreads once the brain is "shut down", possibly a mage can just shield his/her brain against it (when taking on the shape) and be safe. Maybe it's also because only the outer body is shifted, not the organs and stuff.

Unfortunately I don't have a picture of myself in it. And this particular hoodie is a bit different from the lighterweight kind. Most of the bioware stuff is fairly good quality though. But I am not so sure I would spend 60 dollars on just a hoodie. I would wait until it goes on sale.

I don't think that is true personally, or they'd be dead.

That's my hesitation on this theory--it's damned hard to get rid of the blight. If it could be so easily manipulated by powerful mages Grey Warden-ing would be like the National Guard. The Darkspawn would be a much less frightening threat and blighted land could be cleansed.

Off-topic, I'm wearing the N7 hoodie hubby got me for Xmas. It's definitely cozy but I wish it didn't have Velcro down the front because I rarely zip it and it tends to catch on my clothes. It looks sharp, though, and people assume N7 is the brand so they want to know where I got it!

Do you have a pic? How are the sizes? My Cullen tank is ok, a bit wide though.

I had those N7 leggings but they were not really suitable for the outside and of low quality. I think they aren't even sold regularly anymore?
