Those banters are awesome, guys! And the personality you imagine him with is the one I'm leaning towards also!

 

I definitely think he's going to be super smart. It makes me wonder how he'll deal with Dorian, who is also apparently super smart. It depends on whether or not they like each other, of course, but I can picture them getting into debates either way!

 

Edit: Do elves really have longer lifespans anymore? I thought they didn't.

 

I was wondering about that too now so I went hunting on the DA wiki and it says this about lifespan: All the races in Thedas are said to live approximately the same length of natural life.

btw Another topic on Solas that we have not seemed to have talked about: How old is he? My guess is probably late 30s/ early 40s if we are not talking him being an ancient elf (though that would be interesting)

I'm also thinking that he might be about 40 but he looks much younger in some images so I'm a little bit confused about his age.

Solas looks in his thirties to me. Maybe leaning towards mid-late thirties. So basically he's the same age as most of the companions, it seems.

late twenties, half thirties for me. he is not young as Zevran or Alistair in DAO, but surely isn't very old.

Inquisitor: knocks on door.  "Solas, can I come in?"

 

Solas: the sound of rustling paper is heard. "If you insist."

 

Inquisitor: Opens door.  "I do insist.  I had to stop Sera from using Cole as target practice at dinner tonight.  Isn't that usually your job?"

 

Solas:  "He can take care of himself."

 

Inquisitor:  "In a fight, maybe.  But he certainly isn't up to Sera's verbal assaults, she's flings adjectives as smoothly as arrows, and to no less effect.   Speaking of words, you have lapsed from taciturn to mute since Dorian joined us.  Care to tell me why?" 

 

Solas:  "No."

 

Inquisitor:  "If you have a problem with him I need to know.  Closing the rifts is going to take the whole team."  crosses room to look Solas directly in the eye.  "I need you at your best."

 

Solas:  pulls a thick, yellowed stack of papers from behind him and hands them to the Inquisitor.  "My thesis on the energy fluctuations associated with opening and closing fade rifts and the influence of magical manipulation in areas where the veil is thin on their spontaneous occurrence."

 

Inquisitor:  confused "What does this have to do with Dorian?"

 

Solas: "Nothing really."

 

Inquisitor: arches eyebrow "Nothing?"

 

Solas:  "There was an open seat in the Department of Fade Studies at the University in Vyrantium.  It was not as prestigious as the University in Minrathous so I thought I had a chance....  Humans never see past the ears, you know."

 

Inquisitor:  "I know.  I'm sorry, Solas.  If.... When this is all over, I promise I will work to change that."

(I hate the Tallis DLC. hate it hate it hate it.  it just decide to loop no matter what on the LAST loading before the final boss. ARGH!!! and of course my last save of DA2 before the DLC was...at the start of act 2!!!like thirteen ours of game ago!!!AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!! I have to re-do second act all over again!!!     damn...this second run is a nightmare...)

 

sigh, let's return to think about Solas...

I really like this banter but poor Cole...I just bought Dragon Age Asunder last night and have been reading it like crazy it is a good book and I'm am so glad that book has kept me busy this weekend otherwise I would be going crazy waiting for more info on Solas lol

It is a good book.   It was also one of the reasons I would have liked it if Gaider wrote Solas. He's good with writing things concerning the fade and such. After reading the book some people found their interests in Cole go up because of how well he was written. I read the thing in one day surprisingly

 

Edit: I am confident the writing team has someone writing Solas who does well in writing though.

I had made it...but I rewrite it when I was in hurry. Sigh. I told myself "ok, you have almost finished the DLC. what can go wrong now? you have already escaped the Fenris's amulet bug, and you didn't starded legacy before, so no corruption of the save..."

that's what I get when I don't repute a run important enough to create more than one save.

 

sigh. I'll interrupt the run to play a little of something else...maybe I'll finish a run of ME3, or restart NWN2. never finished mask of the betrayer.

MOB was great. Loved Gann, he almost made me forget the rocks that fell on Casavir.

Seriously though, that is one of the reasons I love Bioware - no rocks fall everyone dies endings.

Didn't they also have Solas collapsed on the ground in the companion trailer when Sera was walking through the fields. Surprised no one has mentioned that.
