Reposting because not sure people saw: I got a confirmation that Solas and Lavellan stuff is on the DLC, from Patrick Weekes
Just hope it doesn't go like this O.o
Lavellan: Solas! You are back! You came for me..
Solas: I want your hand...
Lavellan: In marriage ? Of course! Josephine come fast we have a marriage to plan..
Solas: No just your hand.. (puls out an ax)
you know what PW refuse to answer ????
“that means Solas will still need the Anchor, no ?”

Like the belief that the vallaslin was something elves chose to do to honor the gods.
Depends on how you look at it.
Lavellan: "My Keeper said these the vallaslin are meant to honor the gods. These are their symbols."
Solas: "That is true."
Boom. There's truth to their belief. They weren't wrong about that part of the vallaslin's purpose.
Solas fills in some blanks though: "They are slave-markings. A noble would mark his slave to honor the god he worshiped. In time, the Dalish forgot."
All right, they missed a detail. The marks were bestowed on slaves. Dalish were "factually wrong" in thinking the vallaslin was something that free ancient Arlathan elves did. However, they also weren't wrong that the vallaslin were meant to honor the gods, and that each symbol represented a god; from that, they were "factually right." One of those "the glass is half empty or half full, depending on how you look at it," because they had a mix of correct and incorrect details.
Lavellan can also counter Solas' "truth" with a truth of her own: "Whatever the marks meant before, the Dalish have reclaimed them. They mark me as one of them."
Looking at it from that perspective, that is also true. The reason elves wore them in ancient times are not the reasons modern elves use them today. At least, not fully. In sone ways they actually are used for the same purpose. Ancient vallaslin purpose: honor the gods. Dalish vallaslin purpose: honor the gods. The devil is just in the details: ancient vallaslin was inflicted on slaves, Dalish vallaslin willingly donned as a ceremonial rite of passage and cultural identifier as one of the Dalish.
So, what is the "right" way to respond to learning that a tradition you've revived has details that are "factually wrong" from what you originally thought? Even though some other details are also "factually right"? Is the "right" approach to discard it because of an outdated reason that no longer applies to the reason you use it now? After all, Lavellan can potentially say: "I don't wear [vallaslin] for [Ancient Arlathan], I wear them for me." How many other elves might feel the same way? How many other Dalish elves or clans have been donning vallaslin for different reasons than their ancestors might have, and so might not want to get rid of them because the reason to get rid of them is not the reason they got it in the first place?
Like with everything else related to this, I would argue that there is no one truth and no one right answer. It just depends on how you look at it.

Paraphrasing
Patrick Weekes said Cory needed the anchor because without it it is fatal to enter the fade
So I said "Wait.. does this means Solas will need the anchor ?""
And PW answered "Spoilers!"

However, the vallaslin are also an indicator of being Dalish, so I can see why some characters might not care about symbolizing the gods so much as valuing the sense of belonging/identity/pride they give. There are different layers of meaning to the vallaslin.

Someone asked Patrick Weekes "Do the rifts and the breach only allow for one-way travel like the wormholes in Stargate? Is that why Cory needs the Anchor?"
To which he replied with "Yes-ish. Anchor allows physical people to move through a rift and survive. Otherwise, it's fatal."
Then someone else said "Wait.... (then some gibberish)" and Weekes said "Spoilersayswhat?"
Edit: oops, someone else answered already... sorry, I didn't see it!

Hey guys. So I'm making my way through my Solasmance playthrough ^^ I had the delightful conversation with him about elves in Haven... I really love that conversation, even more now that I'm planning a romance. I like how Lavellan can express pride over being Dalish, and when Solas is a little condescending, he (my Lavellan) basically politely begs him to teach the people instead of chastising him. He calls him "Hahren" (I think), and Solas cools down a little and, in a rather apologetic (and cute lol) voice calls him "da'len." (Yeah I squee'd) My question is, they both say something briefly in elvish. Do you guys have a translation? I'm sure it's as simple as "Please, Hahren" and "Sorry/Of course, Da'len" but I was just curious.
Goooosh I love these Fall/Summer relationships

Also, does anyone know what Solas says to Mhiras? (sorry about the spelling... the Dalish mage in the Hinterlands.)
And last but not last, sorry I appeared and then disappeared again instead of sticking around. I don't want to be spoiled before completing the romance, so I've made myself scarce ![]()

Also good luck on your playthrough! I just finished mine and my feels are all jumbled now.
BTW are you using a mod to romance him? Since your Lavellan is male.

I am getting increasingly more worried that they'll force us to kill Solas and I swear if they have him die in Lavellan's arms and she goes, "You're not alone..." I jump over Iron Bull and cry myself to sleep on Oghren's doormat.

Seriously, I've never wanted a "good" ending for a character more than I have for Solas. I don't know why but I really, really, really want him to have a not-so-bad ending.... D:

Hey there! Sometimes if you turn on subtitles, it'll translate for you, like with Solas's personal quest. Other times I just looked up the translation here: http://dragonage.wik.../Elven_language.
I think in Haven, they both say 'Ir abelas' which is I'm sorry or I apologize. The dialog with Mihris is a bit more interesting. I'd have to go look it up again, but I think Solas basically accuses her of lying after she talks about her clan.

I don't have any links, no
And I saved after the conversation >.< Ah well, I'm sure it was nothing special. I was just curious.
Yes, I'm using Equal Opportunity Solas. It's great!!! So far I was able to flirt with him once, something I've never been able to do
And the romance dialogue for male Lavellan was already in the game, so that played out smoothly, too, as did the facial expressions and so on. It's been seemless so far. The only bad thing I've heard is that there's a lack of voiced dialogue in the final romance scene, which is a shame. But it's amazing we got what we did.

Coooool, thanks guys!!! Ah, I like that
Solas repeating what Lavellan says. It's kind of cute. I think he's (Solas is) a bit chastened in that scene. Lavellan made him feel a bit bad for what he said. This is just such a cute romance (so far lol); Solas prejudges Lavellan but I think ultimately finds himself charmed by him/her and a little amused/tickled by Lavellan's youthful gung-ho-ness lol
And heeey Kala

If I recall right in the Hinterlands (if you are not Dalish) he starts off with telling Mithris. "Ma Harel Da'Len." And then after to get her to give you the item, "Ma halani. Ma glandival. Vir enasalin."
I have a screenshot of that second part, give me a minute and I'll post it to confirm. I'm not sure what is being said however, but I provided the elvhen if someone else wants to take a crack at it.

Solas as a literal axe murderer is so mean! (and also hilarious). However, it's possible that discussing anything about Solas's future plans is considered spoiler territory, and not necessarily confirmation that he'll need the Inquisitor. Solas already managed to find his way to the Crossroads after all, which is where Morrigan figured Cory wanted to bust into the fade. Maybe Solas can do the same thing now that he has Mythal's mojo?
Anyway, I really hope you are right, but I'm not quite sure that tweet should be taken as confirmation just yet. ![]()
