That's pretty bad. My relatives are pretty chill, I just don't like the rituals I have to jump around every time i visit aunties and uncles. More rituals now because it's lunar new year week. Still would like to go since last night my cousin finally confessed he was gay to his parents and it was a relief for him!
It's not that I don't enjoy them, I love them so much. But the longer I spend time with them, the higher the chances to talk about something we'll disagree on. It's funny to see how I managed to grow up among them and have completely radically different religious, political and social opinions than theirs. At the end of the day, no matter how much we can yell at each other during some debate, we still love each other above everything else. That I'm thankful for. On the other hand, my boyfriend's family is one of the chillest I've ever seen, so it's quite great to have that too.
And yay for your cousin, hope he'll receive all the support and love he deserves, mustn't have been easy at all!
EDIT : TOP!
