I imagine the longer a person spends as a tranquil, the less feasible it becomes to restore them.

I most certainly would rather die. Especially with them hinting at templars abusing them. Hell if it was a choice between that and abomination, I'd pick abomination and let them die putting me down.
I support a system of regulation for mages, but not tranquility.
I have to disagree. Being made tranquil vs being made an abomination is both equal to me. Either way you are being made into something else. And tranquils won't necessarily be doing any damage anyways. At least we know now that there is a cure for tranquility. Not so sure about abominations.
goddammit. ToP Solas.

I don't think I actually care for "curing" tranquility. This particular aspect of the mage/Templar issue has touched me emotionally. If they remove it now, the whole issue will become less stressful for me, I guess. It will be reduced to mere facts and less feeling.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I think they won't make it as easy as it sounds though, so it won't be completely negated as a serious thing. I haate tranquility from a character perspective, but it is still a really fascinating part of dragon age lore.

I have to admit that, after watching Willow, I cannot think of Picts without picturing them as dwarves. (Not little people, actual Varric-style dwarves.) I blame Val Kilmer.

Now I really want someone to photoshop Varric's face on there.

I have two friends that just picked up on the DA series and one of them said that Solas is boring. I cackled so hard, I think I might have given the secret away.
One of my friend played the whole game thinking Solas was too nice and kind and therefore boring. Then he finished the game and was genuinely surprised by the end. A lot.
All the clues about him went literally over his head the whole time, and now he wants to make another playthrough while romancing him, and with Cole in banter for extra clues.
On the subject of Tranquils, I really regret making Alexius a Tranquil. I think it's the only decision I regret, it was too cruel and didn't deserve it.

Oh I don't expect to be cured or it being a better alternative. I mean pulling what the grey warden mages did, especially females to avoid being brood mothers. They went abomination mode and took out way more darkspawn than they'd be able to themselves before being overwhelmed. I'd rather do that and have the templars put me down than live my life wiping their asses.

If you never use Solas in your party, he is a bit boring. He doesn't have as many scenes, so he basically just comes across as your professor guy.
My brother did come to like him though. He mentioned that he was the first character in DA that made the fade sound interesting.

Thats wicked interesting, not a huge history buff but i'll definitely be reading up on them. On both actually. I feel i SHOULD know more about the NAThe picts were the inhabitants of eastern and northern Scotland(where I currently live) during the late Iron age.Their original name is unknown since their language didn't survive but they were named "Picts" by the Romans which means "painted" or tattooed ones. They were said to use guerilla tactics and know how to take advantage of the Scottish landscape and climate, making it extremely difficult for the Romans to defeat them. There are also records of a legion that disappeared in that area.
As far as their culture is concerned, they have many similarities with the Celts and also had a polytheistic religion. The Picts are depicted with tattoos and are believed to have tattooed themselves, hence why they were named so by the Romans.
Their architecture and art kind of resembles a mix between Alamari(Ferelden) with some Dalish elements.

You think mages wear those ridiculous robes originally so templars could more easily spot them?
Guess that wouldn't work as well in Orlais, lol.

Point taken. Though apparently only tranquils can make enchantments? I think somewhere in Origins says so. I have to tip my hat to them every time I use enchantments.
So does that mean Sandal is a weird tranquil?

I think Sandal might be elf blooded. So he's a dwarf, but he has some magic in his blood that appears to be innate to all elves.
But, since he's a dwarf it almost mimics tranquility. He can't access the magic, but it is still there.

I've never bought into the Solas as Felassan thing. Mhiris, Briala, Celene, and Michel all saw him and didn't react. I also don't think Solas killed Felassan. I think Felassan was one of Fen'harel's agents back in the day (a la Severus Snape), but still tied to whatever Creator held his leash. That creator is trying to get out of its prison and trying to force him to give them the key.
I also don't think Felassan is dead, just wandering the world as a Tranquil now. REALLY hope we get to rescue him some day >.>
I agree with all of this except the theory that Felassan is Tranquil, mostly because I would much rather he'd be dead than like that.

Sandal and dwarves should be able to make enchantments because they don't have a connection to the fade.
Like I mentioned once, the lyrium acts like a bridge to the fade and can draw it to a person or object, so I think mages can't do it and non tranquil because their own connection sort of interferes with the process. Signal gets mixed up in other words. Jammed.
But dwarves and tranquil would have no such issue since dwarves have no connection and tranquil's signal is jammed by the lyrium in their skulls.

Geek remix had a cool theory on Sandal. He could be holding Junes soul. She has 3 vids explaining her evidence/theory.I think Sandal might be elf blooded. So he's a dwarf, but he has some magic in his blood that appears to be innate to all elves.

I hate those Circle Mage outfits, huh. Every time I see one, there's the Fashion Police siren ringing in my ears.
Plus, such long robes are SO unpractical. Make it stop at mid-thigh/above knees, and it'll be cute, stylish, and more freedom of movement, win-win!

I killed Erimond by myself. There was nothing to save in that man, he had no regrets whatsoever. Pathetic.

It's been a while since I watched that film.Truth be told while the elves and the dwarves share some similarities with RL cultures and civilisations, they remain fantasy beings heavily inspired by other fantasy settings(Tolkien comes in mind).I have to admit that, after watching Willow, I cannot think of Picts without picturing them as dwarves. Same...I loved Fellassan, finding an husk of him would be way too much sad... ![]()

I never thought of him being Tranquil, just dead. That was sad enough. Now I'm
over the idea. I never bought that he was working for Solas. While I can see Fen'Harel killing someone who deserved it he doesn't strike me as being so petty or violently emotional as to have an underling know he'd be killed for a rebellious act that could still be remedied (but only if he lived).
They set it up in DA2 that dreamers killed in the Fade (which is what Felassan was doing when he was killed) become Tranquil in the physical world. He might be dead...I'm just speculating. I adore Felassan though, so I'm waving team optimism flags all over the place. I'd love to see him team up Solas and watch them show the Dalish how real elves get **** done.

Keep in mind that the Tranquil elf in Asunder was "cured" by a demon (I'm remembering that right, yes?). What if the process is less traumatic if it's a spirit that cures the Tranquility.
