Dragons... I love dragons. But I also love dragon-hunting. Both in Skyrim and in DAI.

Anyway, arts!

Aw, thanks for posting those. You and NightSymphony are always going out of your way to gather up the latest awesome Solas art so lazy folks like me can benefit from the pretty pictures. Much appreciated! <3

Also, @CuriousArtemis - DON'T look at this until you're done with the Solas romance. I don't want to spoil ANYTHING for you.

Spoiler

Ha ha, I love your Abelas, but can't quite reconcile him with the one from the actual game. Someone needs to find a clip of his voice actor going 'Heeey girl' before I can get on board. :D

Still out of likes so I made this:

I'm suddenly 10X more attracted to Cullen.

Me too, and this is not good because I just put aside my Cullenmance playthrough to enjoy a replay of a Solasmance playthrough. Don't re-surge old feelings now or I'll never get past the Hinterlands in either playthrough. DX

Abelas. Ryan Gosling you your way out of the Solavellan Hellspiral. If you're not into it, just scroll right along. I won't be offended. In fact, I'd be ecstatic.

On topic - the Wyvern Den scene is now officially the "Fire Swamp."

Thanks to everyone for all of the ancient elvhen underwear suggestions! I'll be making a Cassandra base next. <3 Once all three bases are done, I'll post them.

I love that picture (even if I don't understand the Abelas obsession, he seemed like a sad ass to me xD), but because I'm awkward I wanted to point out that Solas meant the Inquisitor kissing him first was impulsive and ill-considered, and his fault was encouraging it. I've noticed a few people get it mixed up. Just ignore me if I've gotten myself mixed up though.

But I did want to mention how the first kiss is always a bit sad for me after my first playthrough because we kiss him for a complete misconception. He's talking, in his own enigmatic way, about how we've completely changed his plans, but we think he's complimenting us. ;_; Poor girl. At least he likes us back. x)

IMO it's a bit of both.  An impulsive piece of the truth from Solas.  Yes, Lavellan did pretty much derail his plans (not that it was a great plan to begin with), but I think he also means it as a compliment.  She's changed more than just his plans.  She's started to change the way he looks at the world, the way he interacts with it.

I'm still catching up. However:

You know I had a thought. If I was Solas and I wanted to free all the slaves of the world and the elves and whatever....you know who the first person I would find to be on my team would be?

Fenris.

That's something I would love to see. Don't tell Cullen, but I really miss Fenris. I'd love to see him back, maybe doing a bit more than just getting drunk in his mansion. If they do that I'm willing to throw all my money their way.

I think, going back from now, the family history goes something like:
<snip>

Ohhh my god, you're basically the whole line of AC characters!

No offense to you, but I'd bet Alexander would be able to out-drink you. :P

And I highly doubt he would. My tolerance is pretty stiff. I am six foot four, and he was a good bit shorter than me. To be expected.

And no offense to either of you but do we really have to go there? We're not 18 anymore and there is no need to trump by expressing some direct proportionality between alcohol and manliness, which is silly imho. Dylan Thomas died drunk in St. Vincent's Hospital, hardly remembering his own name. John Bonham drank himself to a coma more then once, finally leaving behind two children and a wife, not considering one of the biggest bands in rock music. Truman Capote, Billy Holiday, Townes Van Zandt, Jim Morrison and one could go on. So in short, good on anyone if he can out-drink somebody. Question usually only is: for how long?

I think I've accidentally stumbled upon another song that fits Solavellan nicely :3

Suddenly I knew that you'd have to go
My world was not yours, your eyes told me so
Yet it was there I felt the crossroads of time
And I wondered why.

As we cast our gaze on the tumbling sea
A vision came o'er me
Of thundering hooves and beating wings
In clouds above.

As you turned to go I heard you call my name,
You were like a bird in a cage spreading its wings to fly
The old ways are lost, you sang as you flew
And I wondered why.

While I'm in agreement with you that alcohol consumption in excess has nothing to do with manliness, I can apparently get away with saying it because I am still eighteen for the rest of this week, so there. :P (It's at this point that everyone is shocked that I am not, in fact, ten, or a particularly long-winded 80 year old.  ) I was both arguing that Alexander probably didn't die from alcohol poisoning, that for a little man he would be surprisingly hard to out-drink, and, admittedly, defending his manliness as seen from a Macedonian point of view. I think I rejected the whole idea of masculinity when I was five, and realized it too often involved football, baseball, talking about girls, explosions, and a complete lack of interest in well-muscled Gauls/ruthless Tevinter Magisters. I almost relapsed when I became more familiar with the 'well-groomed beard' crowd, admittedly.

Despite being a 'large and semi-muscular' male, as Wash would put it, judging from the effects of the numbing shots dentists have given me and coffee in general, I wouldn't be able to hold a thimble of alcohol. And that's fine with me.

As for the Assassin's Creed connection.  I think I'm missing Arab for the Altair connection, but other than that, all of the nationalities and occupations have been represented, I think.  My pirate ancestors were even active in the same time and place and Kenway. I wonder... <_<

In conclusion, I'd like to employ you as a Viking drinking party buzz-kill agent. :P

EDIT: I blame everything on Killabee. From this conversation, to the bees disappearing, to my intended Dorianmancer mysteriously ending up in a flower shop in Val Royeaux.

No offense taken and I gladly take full blame. Men are silly at times with our talks of masculinity. I don't pretend to be different.

I laughed a lot at my male friends trying to out-man each other, when they were for the most part self-admitted scrawny, non-athletic nerds. It led to some great insults along the lines of,

"Yeah, well, at least I don't have to look up guides for Pokemon," or

"My peach-fuzz doesn't blend in with my baby smooth face!" and the female friends just face-palming in the background.

Then you have people like my grandfather, who went into the US Navy during World War II at sixteen, wrote for hunting magazines and told off-color anecdotes about hunting elephants in Africa with friends and how pants were ruined, and cheerfully lives in the mountains and wrestles bears for kicks to this day.

If he had a beard, I think he would combust the air around him as he walked.

Then there's me.  All my talk of masculinity is silly because I'm the Tattooine to Manly's Coruscant.

You should really read Asunder if you're interested in how the Fraternities interact.  That is a huge part of the book.  It also has more Fiona, which is never a bad thing.  Plus, she's the only libertartian mage who actually gives them a good name.

I can't bring myself to hunt them either. They are beautiful.  I hate killing them in Skyrim too.

I downloaded a mod that dramatically reduces the number of random dragons (except the super-high level ones from DLC) after completion of the main quest.

Dragons are beautiful and if they were real I'd go out of my way to save them. As it is I do go out of my way saving the Dragon in The Witcher 2. But when the game is laid out differently, with a major focus on hunting dragons, I'll go all nutters as soon as one shows up and squeak cheerfully "A dragon, a dragon! And beautiful you are!" while searching my inventory for the best sword I can find. My major issue with DA is how there's too few dragons. I'm a bad person, I know.

I love you so much more now.

I aim to please!

I had a major crush on Fenris.

That's good because I just recently had a discussion with a 18 year old who acted like he had seen it all already and I really do not wish to go there with you, too. Though I do have a whole bunch of arguments prepared now as it is. Unfortunately it will not come to this because you did the right thing and agreed with me.

About the second bit: me as the Viking drinking party buzz-kill agent? I'm sorry. I despise taking alcohol as a means to compare manliness or anything, but that's about it. If people want to drink that's fine with me. I used to work in bars, I could drink a small bottle of vodka and still talk straight, it's not my place to be a hypocrite.

Apart from that, of course, you are right. The Colonel is to blame for everything, basically.

The Vikings drinking parties are all about proving manliness by getting so drunk you blackout. :) To prove manliness.

...Scandinavia was apparently quite dull during medieval winters.   :P

And oh God, no. I'm definitely not one to act like I've seen and done it all. I'm still astonished that Snohomish is both a city and a county, as I learned today. Ignorance is my forte, though I'm working on ruining that.

Agreeing with Siha and blaming the Colonel are just a matter of course by now for me.  B)

Fine, have it your way: *disgusted noise* Better?

And Scandinavian nights are still dull. And alcohol is really expensive there. Which might add to it. (Please no Scandinavian take offense in this, I'm just making really bad jokes.)

(Wait... you're actually 18?)

And this is the best approach. There's basically two rules: 1) Siha is always right. 2) In case this does not apply, see rule 1.

I....wha...to even compare the two on the same level.....

At least Solas has the impulse to bed you and expresses his pleasure/anticipation in doing so... And when things are about to get weird/ugly he has the guts and the self control to break up with you so you don't get dragged into whatever is about to go down because you already have more than enough on your IQ plate.

Anders OTHO... Well, I think he pretty much poisoned DA II for me... Though admittedly it wasn't a well-constructed game in the first place and I hated the "awesomeness" of Hawke...

Wait... you mean to say it is not one big country?

And there is no such thing as a non-judging grunt. You might as well confess you love the Colonel, too. We are a big collective after all; even if you still cling to your "individuality", consensus is reached.

I can go with being Aria. But who dreamed of French manicure, huh? If anything, you are the Tali to my Shepard. "I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind." - "Sure you are, honey, whatever you say."
