I've been away for a while. Whats the word? Yes earth and lighting were the bee's knees in da2. Merrill was my go to mage, just wish she could of learned the force spells. Also one to see Solas wear one of vivienne's hats, anyone else have that desire?

You know what sympathy news I would like? That there are some funny looking mage hats in Dragon Age Inquisition. I know I might be the only one but I got a kick out of making every single one of my party members wear one of them in Origins. We were all a silly looking team.

This is for any Inquisitor who's up for some Solas lovin'. The first few questions are about your Inquisitor, so if they're still not completely planned out feel free to skip it.

E) Appearance: She has straight, long, dark red hair that is usually braided down her back. Her eyes are bright green and her prettiest feature. Her skin is rather pale. She has freckles on her cheeks and a small, round birthmark on her right wrist. She stands at about 5’7” and has a slender build. She would definitely be considered beautiful, though she doesn’t see it.

To Solas! 18 questions total!
1) Who makes the first move and how?
A) Solas, I’m actually writing a short fanfic about it, it happens after a battle with a dragon where she risks her life to save him. Let’s just say she’s a bit skittish at first because I have a headcanon that the mark that lets her close the breach is the only thing that is keeping her alive and once she closes the last breach the mark won’t be able to keep her alive any longer. So needless to say she tries to stay away from Solas because she doesn’t want to hurt him when the inevitable happens.
B ) If that isn’t a thing in the game, which I’m kind of doubting it is considering the game continues after the main story, then I think it will still be Solas who makes the first move, but she won’t try to avoid him after that XD
(I’m going to use A and B for the two separate reactions when necessary. A for my headcanon and B for how it’ll most likely actually be  )

 

2) What's the others reactions?
A) So with the headcanon I suppose they’d all be suspicious about why she’s totally avoiding him. And I think Josephine would be the one to finally make her talk about it (because they are going to be bffls)
B ) I think everyone would be fine with it, and Cole would be especially happy because he’d have two parents!   (They would sooooo adopt him. It’s happening)
Though there could be a companion or two that has the Wynne opinion where they aren’t being responsible by getting in a relationship, probably Leliana?

3) Solas wants to give your quizzie their favorite meal or a thoughtful gift... What is it and how would he give it to them?
She really loves jewelry, rings and necklaces especially, and is one of those people that will wear it everyday, so if he got either a ring or a necklace for her she would wear it forever. I imagine it would be one that he makes/carves himself and gives to her.

4) Do Solas and your quizzie make their relationship obvious right away or is it hush-hush at first?
A) Well after the initial avoiding, Solas eventually confronts Elsie and they talk things out. I don’t think they’d keep things hush-hush after that, but they wouldn’t advertise it.
B ) Same as above, they wouldn’t advertise it, but wouldn’t keep it secret either

5) If it's on the down low; do they end up telling the group or do they find out on their own?
Well it isn’t on the down low, but most of the group will find out on their own. The people who they would tell would probably be Josephine and Cole.

6) If the "first move" didn't involve a kiss; how did their first kiss go?
The first move was a kiss….so…yeah….

7) How do they behave together on and off the battlefield?
On the battlefield, they watch each other’s backs and make sure that neither of them dies. They are both – I assume for Solas at least – ranged fighters so they usually keep out of the brunt of it anyway, but they still watch out for each other.
Off the battlefield, they spend a lot of time together – though they aren’t always together, they’re both introverts and need their space sometimes. Elsie loves to talk to him about magic and the fade and she loves to hear his perspectives on everything because as a circle mage she had a rather limited view. They’ll also just spent time in silence together, maybe reading while sitting together. They can be content to just sit with each other and be off in their own little worlds, just as much as they are content when they are talking to each other or exploring.

8) Would your quizzie flirt with someone else? Would Solas? How would they react?
Elsie doesn’t even really know how to flirt, she’s a tad shy, even after taking her position as the Inquisitor. She’s fine in a leadership position when it comes to gaining people’s trust and leading the troops, but she is terrible when it comes to flirting and anything resembling it. Plus she would never do that to Solas, she’s very loyal. I highly doubt Solas would flirt with anyone else, but who knows. If he did Elsie would probably be upset, but would think it was her fault and not tell him.

9) Who's the first to say "I love you"? When/Where/How do they do it?
Elsie would be the first to say it, during/after a battle where Solas was hurt. She’d probably say it in a “I love you, so you better not die” way when she was healing him and then when he mentions it later when he’s well she would try to act as if she hadn’t said it because she’d be afraid that he didn’t feel the same way. But then he’d say that he loves her too and she would kiss him, and they’d be adorable little cuties.

10) What's the most publicly romantic thing your quizzie initiates? (Whether it's all the time or only once)
Probably a kiss at some point, though she’d be too shy to do it in public at first.

11) What's the most publicly romantic thing Solas initiates? (Whether it's all the time or only once)
(Like most people have been saying) probably holding her hand for a longer period of time then necessary.

12) If your quizzie and Solas get into an argument who is the first to usually apologize (even if they were in the right)?
Elsie because she hates arguing. She is pretty stubborn, but she doesn’t usually stay mad at people for very long and she hates it when her relationships are strained. On the other hand I can’t really see Solas dragging out an argument either, but I still think it would be her most times. (Unless she’s being a bit overdramatic)

13) Oh no! Quizzie got injured! Solas is the only one around to take care of them. How does your quizzie react to being a patient?
She’ll hate that she is being a burden, but she’ll try to be as helpful as possible – even if that just means lying still and not itching the bandage  

14) Oh no! Again! Now Solas is injured and Quizzie has to play doctor; how would they go about it?
She is a healer by trade so she is very serious when she has to ‘play doctor’. She would be as efficient as possible and try not to cause him any pain.

15) Something emotionally scarring happened; how would Quizzie and Solas comfort each other?
They would just sit together and be there for each other. They may talk or they may not, but just being with each other would help. Maybe a bit of cuddling  

16) Is there a proposal in the future? Who pops the question and how?
Elsie would sure hope so, but she wouldn’t pop the question. She and Solas would probably talk about it, and then he would propose to her. It would probably be after the breach has been closed, maybe before it. Maybe it would be before a big battle where they aren’t sure if they’ll win, and it’s a promise to each other to make it out alive.

17) Let's say the world was saved and you are no longer bound to the Inquisition; what's your quizzie and Solas planning to do?
A) Well…..if the whole ‘fade-mark keeping her alive’ thing was real then she’d be dead….sooo……  
B ) But if not then they would travel together. Elsie wants to see all of Thedas and see all the places that Solas has been to. They’d probably travel for a few years and then settle down and raise a family of their own adorable kiddies (and their adopted baby Cole, of course)

18) What would be Solas' pet name for your quizzie? If he gives him/her one.
If he were to give her one I think it would be Lily because it’s her favorite flower. Otherwise he might just call her love or something equally normal.

18a) Do they give him one? If so, what is it?
Probably love or some equivalent (but never Honey)
Maybe something Dalish that she picks up along the way like ‘Ma’Vhenan’ because she thinks it’s cute. (Unless that would be disrespectful to the Dalish I suppose)
Or maybe Mon Cher because she is very interested in languages, Orlesian especially.
Or it could be something totally random, maybe a bit of an inside joke sort of thing.

i was going to suggest asking GDL what his favorite part of playing solas that he is allowed to talk about was, but it appears other people already floated the idea! i think it's a nice fairly neutral open-ended non-pressured question, right?

Finished the Solas questionnaire... took me forever!  Still, it was fun, and a neat way for me to conceptualize my character a bit better (even if I know most of this will get contradicted by what happens in the game... assuming Solas is romanceable at all).

Solas will probably have to, because for her romantic love is... uncharted territory.  My hope is that Solas will be the direct type, and do something logical and boring like ask how she feels - since her weird roundabout way of trying to show him will eventually test his patience.

Margot could have any man or woman she wanted (and occasionally does), so the fact that she falls for a certain unassuming, average-looking, older nerd is the last thing any of them would have expected.

While her intelligence and love of knowledge are not something she advertises much, it's something he picks up on immediately.  He'll give her an artifact from his travels, along with a story about its place in history.

They keep it quiet at first.

The group finds out when someone finds them in a compromising position - much to everyone's shock and, later, delight as they use every opportunity to tease the two about it.

Once Margot learns that Solas LIKE likes her back, it's only a matter of time before she yanks him into an empty room or something.

 

How do they behave together on and off the battlefield?
On the battlefield they're all business - Margot isn't one for fight banter unless it's to taunt an enemy into one of her traps (I see her as too focused otherwise).  Though they might surreptitiously keep a close eye on one another.  Off the battlefield, they are like good friends, and will have long intellectual convos that bore and confuse most everyone else.

 

Would your quizzy flirt with someone else? Would Solas? How would they react?
I don't think Solas would.  Margot would - she is noble after all, and learned early on she could get away with much through manipulation and flattery.  Flirting, and even sex, are tools she's accustomed to using for her benefit, but a committed relationship is something new.  I think Solas will understand, to a point, but will eventually get annoyed or jealous and approach her about it.

 

Who's the first to say "I love you"? When/Where/How do they do it?
She will.  Solas might at some point confront her about whether he/their relationship is really what she wants, at which point she'll awkwardly blurt it out.

PDA isn't really their thing, but I could see her making some ridiculous grand gesture if anyone questions their relationship or tries to come onto him or insult him in any way (silly girl).

i could actually see him being the slightly more affectionate of the two, if in little ways - touching her arm, brushing back her hair... subtle gestures to show he cares.

She will, because she almost certainly starts it or is at fault. and is acutely aware of this and her own immaturity.

She'll allow it, because she's too practical not to see the necessity, but she'll be very stoic and act like it's a bother.  In the beginning, she might even get flustered at his being so damn close when she's still unsure of her feelings or trying to hide them.

She'll fuss and fret and freak out, which Solas will find very amusing because it completely smashes her 'sultry ice queen' persona.

Probably not.  Neither are exactly interested in tradition.  Though she might insist they elope if her family (assuming they still live) becomes too much of a bother and tries to marry her off.

I feel like Margot and Varric will take a bit of time to warm up to each other, so by time the he's comfortable enough to use a nickname 'Inquisitor' would have stuck.  Or maybe I'm just terrible at coming up with nicknames

I agree.  Also, maybe something like "While voicing Solas were there any scenes you found difficult, and, without revealing what happens, tell us why?"  I think it's open-ended enough that he could answer without revealing anything, but could give us a neat tidbit about the character.
