Since Bianca says that she gave the red lyrium location to a Grey Warden mage (either Larnius or Janeka) it's likely that he gave it to Cornflakes in one of his Warden suits.

Yeah, but why would he think one of them would be able to unlock its power?

Which is curious, if that was the case. Why would he think a Warden mage could unlock it and he couldn't? Does the Taint give that extra juice? Or did he sense the power of Corypheus, not realizing that mages were of a lesser caliber in this new age?

Another question: Was Corypheus a Dreamer?

Dragon Age: Questionable Life Choices

But didn't Solas give it to Cory hoping Cory would have the power to unlock the orb? That makes much more sense if it was an ancient evil Tevinter magister darkspawn. But then we're wondering how he couldn't tell Cory was an evil Tevinter magister darkspawn planning to use the orb for nefarious purposes (unless he could and just didn't care)

I ... dislike Bianca. I think she's all kinds of shady.

Ahhh! Not lame at all  She's hot! Toned and athletic without looking like a body builder like so many people do for some reason. It's going great. Make sure you post it in the Cass thread too ;)

I say modify it for the Cassandra thread! Base it on jelly fish princess!

Well~ considering we are discussing a world where Hawke could prance in front of Cullen with a giant staff strapped to her back and not get tossed in the Gallows ...

I'm paraphrasing, but Flemeth claims to know Corypheus well. Something to that effect. So its possible that both of them knew who he was from the beginning.

But! If Solas's goal is to get to the Black City or Arlathan- or anyplace that there would be a concentration of the blight, then it does make sense that he'd look for a grey warden. Since they have a certain level of immunity to it.

Are you suggesting that if Corypheus wasn't a crazy asshat, then we'd have had a game of Solas, Flemeth, and Corypheus breaking into the Black City together?

Even if you're not suggesting that, I am going into mourning over the loss of Dragon Age: Two Gods and a High Priest Walk Into the Fade.

It's true that we don't have any solid information on what Solas seems to blame himself before in the past. We don't know what happened to the Creators, exactly, or Arlathan. It's all foggy.

However.

Giving the Orb to Corypheus, regardless of how it happened, is a huge mistake. One that Solas realizes and acknowledges.

For me, I would harp on a lot more about the foolishness of it, except we don't have crucial details. Like, what on earth made that seem like a good idea? Or, did the passing of the Orb involve a candlelit dinner and avid discussion of ancient barrier techniques?

In hindsight it was a mistake but who is not wise in hindsight?

This seems to have happened but we don't know why and what the circumstances were... So likewise all we can conclude is that "it seems this was a mistake..." and nothing more.

And I would agree there is a creepy side to Solas, I highlighted this a few pages back in his dialogues with Sera which seemed to imply that he knows how or speculates on how an insurgent or even a terrorist organisation should be run, but knowledge is one thing... Implying from knowledge direct culpability is quite another. Inferring it from our interpretation of legends, rumour and speculation takes us even further from fairly establishing guilt.

That sounds like the start of a joke. x)

So two Gods and a High Priest walk into the Fade...

I have no punchline.

DA:I- Dragon Age: We Don't Know the Meaning of the Word 'Inquisition'.

Inquisition means diplomatic relations, right? Because maintaining good PR seems to be our #1 goal most of the time. XD

Solas: Joke if you will, posturing is necessary.

I didn't realize that we were prosectuting an actual case in the real world, instead of debating personality traits of characters in a fantasy video game?

This. But it was a pleasure to have this discussion with y'all guys, interesting and different opinions as always. Good night!

Can Liz and Carrie illustrate it? Abelas can shake his head in disapproval as he follows behind on his Mythal leash.

Is the cassandra thread drama still ripe for the picking or has it already gotten soft?

I think in general handing your one-of-a-kind ancient elven artifact that holds immense power to someone else before the fourth date to be a terrible mistake. :)

Which to me, suggests there's some kind of time pressure going on with Solas. That he has to get the Orb powered up, and fast.

Here's a thought exercise.  I think we can all agree that giving the orb to Cory was NOT GOOD.

What would have happened if Solas *hadn't* given the orb to Cory?

No explosion, right?  Right.  Would the mages and templars have stopped their war?  Maybe.  If yes, no Inquisition.  If no, Inquisition gets formed with Divine Justinia backing it to stop the mages and templars - at least so Cassandra implies.

Cory doesn't just disappear.  He's still planning to take over and make himself a god.  He has the Venatori.  He has the red lyrium.  He probably even has the Grey Wardens.  Most likely, he's STILL planning on assassinating Empress Celene and invading with a demon army.  He doesn't NEED the orb for any of that.  What does he need the orb for?  Entering the Fade.  What does he do without the orb?  Looks for alternate ways to get there.

Without the explosion at the Conclave, no one knows what Cory is up to.  No one even knows Cory exists.  Cory is pretty much free to do whatever because no one is trying to stop him.

Obviously a great deal of this is conjecture, which is why it's an exercise in thought.

So, what does everyone else think Cory would have done without the orb?

0 + 0 + 0 unsurprisingly, = 0

It's not like anyone was saying it was factually true that Solas lead to the present state of things...

BUT, currently it is looking that way. It seems rather likely he's the one who put the gods where they are, as Cole's dialogue suggests, and it seems that at this point is when things started to go downhill for the elves. I'm sure if true, Solas had a good reason, as Cole suggests he did. But still, the effect is still there.

So I don't get the point of stating we don't have proof of this or that, people are just going by what info is available. I personally would blame the war or whatever conflict the gods had that made sealing them all away necessary (supposedly) but still.
