So yesterday I was working through Alphonse's Passage in the Emprise du Lion, and stopped for a minute to gaze at the owl statue in the path, which I always think of as statues for Falon'din (even though I'm not actually sure they're elven statues, come to think of it? but they're scattered much the way Fen'harels are & in similar locations near elven ruins, at least).
Cue some snarkily bitter location banter from Solas: "I would prefer not to linger here."
What, angry I'm eying up some other god, hmmm?
Replayed it & looks like it can actually trigger anywhere in that path, but it was amusingly timed for me at least
The worst thing for me is stepping on a snail and hearing that crunching sound... makes me feel like crying for hours afterwards. Especially when I tried to be so careful not to step on any. *sigh*
Navigating through the forest on my bike can be an ordeal when it's dung beetle season...
This is perfectly normal.
EMBRACE YOUR SOFT HEARTS!
The only animals I kill are mosquitoes - only because catching them is pretty much impossible. I feel sorry, of course.
Btw, have any of you ever tried stroking bees? DO. IT. Seriously, it's awesome. They are so soft! People look at me weird when I say that. Bees are really chill creatures, though. They don't mind. Especially bumble bees. I haven't been stung yet. They are not psychos like wasps...
Off-topic post for today. I'm satisfied.
I love petting bees!!! We have a lot of flower gardens in my yard, it's so relaxing to just sit amongst the bumblebees and pat them if they are close enough. I have only been stung once in my life, & that was by a wasp I stepped on.
I don't get bitten by mosquitos anymore either though. And the handful of times I found one on me in the last 8 years, I never got the itchy bumps either. Maybe I'm secretly the Insect Queen?
I cry every time I step on a worm
haven't stepped on a snail yet but I am sure I would then too. I just throw most every bug I find out the door/window rather than killing it, although I let the spiders chill in my room so they keep the other bugs away for me. once I caught one & dropped it in my room for exactly this purpose when we had an ant invasion one summer. Good ol' Shelob guarded my room for me.
As much as I love the first kiss. This one is actually my favorite. The lighting, the profile, the fact that he goes in first. I could watch it forever.(sorry about the text...at work and can't find the one without it). SOURCE

Ahhhhhhh wow, I did not need another 10-min eating gif... and yet I so clearly did.
I have read, though, that feeding live, adult rats can be dangerous to the snake, as rats will often fight when scared, and can do some serious damage. Do you feed your snake babies? I'm not super informed on the topic, but am curious. I've read feeding already dead rodents is the way to go, but evidently some snakes won't eat them unless they're alive?
I'm gonna get up on my snake soapbox for just a minute, don't mind me:
This is very true. Live rats/mice will struggle against the snake, and if they don't get their initial strike quite right, the rodent can be within biting/clawing range of the snake's eyes, as well as do scratch/bite damage on the inside. Snakes will also sometimes refuse food for whatever snakey reason, & in a small enclosure (though it's best to not feed snakes in their normal living tank, but a seperate feeding tub), without an escape route the rodent can often panic and attack the snake directly, even kill it.
As far as I am aware, most people in the snake keeping hobby who are very into it (I'm talking like, the owners who post on the forums I read and/or run their own breeding businesses, etc), highly prefer feeding freeze-thaw over live. There's no real benefit to the snakes in terms of nutrients & the risk of physical injury is nonexistent for f/t.
That being said: some snakes are picky, and will just not accept dead food. Others won't accept live. If they can't be switched to freeze-thaw, then it's best to just keep a careful eye on them for the whole feeding process, and be ready to intercede if anything starts going wrong.
okay BACK ON TOPIC:
