I just stumbled across an intriguing bit of info on Tumblr, a tumblrite was at SDCC and talking to the devs was told that Marketing was directly responsible for the last two LI not being revealed. Apparently they feel that "mystery" is needed.

Because it isn't Mystery, everyone gets all settled on who they want, some people know they have them or that they don't and then there are the Viv, Varric, Blackwall, and Solas fans who have no idea. It isn't mystery, it's frustrating. Though the idea of it being in order to create a sense of mystery makes it that much more frustratingly stupid. Jeebus.
You have got to be kidding me...this is hardly a mystery it's annoying and disrespectful to those that have to wait longer for the last LI's. This is going to upset fans not lure them in...smh
Well looks like I'm leaving for awhile...I think I'll go buy Dark souls 2 and keep myself busy with that game. I was going to pre- order DA:I but that can wait till a few weeks before release.
This feels like a slap to the face..not from Bioware but from marketing....they sure know how to anger fans...they really are doing a p.i.s.s poor job marketing the game.

Aw, he made a video for you guys! That's freaking adorable! I'm amazed at how interactive the voice actors are being with the fans, I totally wasn't expecting it, lol.

I just read Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor and it was AWESOME. Reading the second in the trilogy now. Karou and Madrigal are currently topping my list of potential Inquisitor names!

Out of anything, I find this INCREDIBLY ANNOYING because now it borks my first playthrough.
Because the race was going to be decided by who I could romance, honestly. If Varric was an option, I was going to roll a female dwarf to try and make sure my bases were covered. If Varric wasn't available and Solas was, then I was going to roll a human like the little fanfic story I wrote.
But instead, I get left at a precipice where I have to choose one without having the info I really, really wanted in order to make that decision. 
If they wanted mystery, they shouldn't have revealed any of them. This is just cruelty.
I agree with this. Really, I think the fair thing is to either name them all or to have named none of them.
This feels very uncool.
And.... as for the remaining LIs being a "mystery".... :/ This isn't cool, and it's not really fair to the fans of Vivienne/Blackwall/Solas/Varric. It's killing the excitement for me.

Now that I'm on my computer, I'm able to properly write my thoughts.
I think this marketing strategy is terrible. Not coming from someone who is waiting for their LI to be romanced, but objectively, it really is especially if one of the writers has to wonder why they haven't been revealed yet.
We had Cassandra and Cullen known for AGES. Although their sexuality (which imo was rather obvious) wasn't announced back then, they were two very well known returning characters with a large fanbase.
Now we have the last two, because there was no consistency in the revelations, and everyone with the exception of Varric has a relatively fresh and minor fanbase. A lot of people don't even want to romance Varric because they're too used to seeing him as a friend and there's a lot of sort of things holding him back from perhaps being an LI. He's very up in the air.
We might possibly not get to know who the last two LIs are until a month from release, going with how long ago Cassandra/Cullen were known to be romanceable.
I just hope that's the worst case scenario and that we find out sooner rather than later. There's no particular "mystery" about this. If you had left Cassandra until the end, sure, maybe. But 3/4 of the characters left are new and have fresh fanbases and it's just causing either anxiety or apathy. Or both.

That is honestly the dumbest thing I have heard in a long time. I mean, really? If marketing feels that withholding the last two love interests is what will add mystery, what are they implying about the game as a whole? Is the story that bad? The dialogue that lukewarm? They need to hold us in suspense about the last two characters we can romance, of all things?
And no, I don't believe the story or writing is bad. It just seems laughable that the "mystery" focus would be on a couple of characters and not something like the villain or a plot point - which I will note most people are fine with not knowing until they play. Plenty of ways to hype "mystery" that would leave fans feeling excited and not just frustrated.

- Telltale's The Walking Dead (the second season is almost over!)
- Bastion
- Transistor
- Mark of the Ninja (for some sweet side scrolling stealth action)
I'll stop at these four, because I could just keep on going >.>
