Poor Falon'Din.  He was shaping up to be such a good villain, and now if he does turn up in game, I'm just going to be giggling like a loon and waiting for the inevitable glitterstorm.

Edit: I just wanted to suggest that some people may not feel like this is an environment where civil disagreement is necessarily going to happen. Dropping the topic now.

 

Ultimately you can't change what has been said. Things got out of hand, likely on all sides. I don't think its fair to say that civil disagreements can't happen- they'll never happen if that's the mindset you enter into an argument with. 

 

Lets just try to be chill going forward.

As for the drama . . . the censorship was ridiculous and I'm sorry it happened. (And I for one am always happy to see both more humor and more Abelas). However, I think those who felt mocked (not by the art, but by various comments afterward) shouldn't have their concerns invalidated by the excuse of "this is the internet, it sucks, get a thick skin or get out." The only way to change things for the better is to be better, and we can do that.

Sorry, I am having trouble hearing this conversation over the censorship of my artistic expression within the past hour for "non-constructive/ trolling content" despite the number of likes and the quotes of the work. That are still on the thread. Showing the work. Real effective.

Despite it being some of the most tame stuff I have ever posted. Despite the significantly more NSFW and inappropriate content on the thread. But it's okay, dear virginal hallas, it's on other forms of social media where people can take a joke without seeing comedy/ satire as a personal attack or revenge on a pixel who left me. Or you know, in the Cullen thread. /my glass hearted feels that can only be healed by hate art

Ever thought I might do it because it's fun? Because I like making people laugh? That this fandom needs something other than salt and tears? Like, I dunno... humor? The ability to laugh at ourselves?

I apologize deeply for whomever decided art censorship was the only answer. Freedom of Speech 2k15. Maybe they should read Candide. Or Tartuffe? Maybe not. They'd probably take it all literally and entirely miss the point.

 

It's okay guuurl. We can take our silly warnings and use them as fuel to create more wonderful horrors for them to appreciate.

Also re;glitter. I've said this before, but my archetype for Falon'din or any of the elven gods so far has been Gilgamesh from the Fate series. He literally appears and disappears in a cloud of glitter.

Telling a person "you like this character and that makes you stupid" was never on the list of approved jokes. It never happened either, but people took it that way because the internet is a horrible place to assume everyone are in on the joke.

 

None of this would've happened if everyone knew everyone's intention, lack of communication and context seems to have been the real villain here.

Stannis the Mannis for the Iron Throne!  Other than him, the only remaining characters that I'm really invested in are Jaime, Brienne, Doran Martell, and Sansa.  

We have the same favorite characters and that makes me so, so happy. For me, there's a bit of Davos mixed in as well. His chapters have always been so much fun, and the poor thing is such a good and loyal guy. But yes, Stannis the jaw-grinding for king. Always.
