But my husband and I were looking at the same picture at the same time.
Maybe that means one of you is a pod person and one of you is not? ????
But my husband and I were looking at the same picture at the same time.
I even looked at the picture on my phone and it was still white and gold! I wear glasses, fyi.
So I saw this link:
http://www.buzzfeed....blue#.owx5XlNN7
And I read through and could not understand because the dress is obviously black and blue. No question. I thought there was some joke I wasn't getting. So I rolled over and asked my husband what color it was.
"White, isn't it? And gold?"
And then I started to get super creeped out by the whole thing.
Looks bluish-purple and black to me. Picture quality isn't good, so I could see how someone might get gold...but not seeing how white.
Reminds me of this codex... ![]()

Wait, some people see it as blue and black?! It's white and gold to me. ![]()
Fascinating...

When I say that I see white and gold, I don't mean bright white. Looked white with a blue tinge due to shitty quality of the picture.
The dress is not real
Spoiler
Wow, my coma dream has been boring so far.

Yeah, getting the idea it's about the screen being used to view it.
From what people were saying on tumblr, I think it's something like this. Some were saying it changed color for them after they reblogged it. I saw white and gold and have 20/20 vision, so . . . *shrug*
Edit: Top kid!Solas + other kid companions: http://niklisson.tum...shed-had-to-put
20/20 vision just tells you that your focus is fine. I have 20/20 vision at monitor distance. I wish I can focus further than my monitor. Maybe there is more to life than just computers.

Probably. i think that rods and cones things in your eyes has something to do with it too. I have looked at the picture on both of my monitors, and my cell phone. I even turned the brightness down on my phone! Still looks like a crappy picture of a white and gold dress. But I know it is blue and black. Lol why am I still talking about this? Sorry.

I have no idea, but it's interesting how people perceive things.
My own vision is terribad, but I'm still seeing bluish-purple and black, with or without glasses. But my focus is bad, not my color perception, so I doubt that affects this much.
Oh god, that dress. I can actually see it in both blue and black, and white and gold. It's because of the picture's lighting, I think. My mom was insisting it was white and gold, though. ![]()

I am probably wrong, but I think it has to do with how your eyes adjust to brightness, not color perception. My eyes are kinda sensitive to light and brightness. Winter is hell for me.
My life is seriously not prepared for this guys. This is the actual dress.
According to a poster on reddit: What matters is whether or not you perceive the photo as overexposed in general or as having a deep shadow cast over the dress. Your brain will automatically correct for whichever one you believe, and you'll see either white/gold or blue/black. I personally see white/gold, but the dress in real life is very much blue and black.
But..but I ...I have special eyes...I can't be wrong...
Is my life a lie?
Also the ****** dress thing is entirely about what you assume about the lighting of the picture. There's no context for the setting/lighting of the thing (also it's just a shitty pic taken on a potato so white balance could be messing it too).
Basically if you assume the thing is being lit by daylight it makes sense for the "blue" to be a white fabric reflecting the more blueish light of its environment, and thus the frilly bits have to be gold. If you assume it's lit by say an incandescent lightbulb then the filly bit looks like a black fabric reflecting the more orange/yellow light and thus the other fabric is blue.
It's not complex it's just a shitty picture with no context forcing you to make assumptions.

The comment section, lolol.
This reminds me of some of the armors in DA:I that appear to change color depending on the lighting. One map it's purple, another it's blue, then it's black, now it's brown... I started to think of it as the moodring armor.

It's pretty obviously in daylight. I think people just have bad eyes ![]()

Haha! I didn't even notice. Wow.
Same here. And I spent years training to be an interpreter. Translation is an art, not an exact science, for all the reasons you two just listed.
My problem with your arguments is that elven is given to us as a cipher, not a complete language with grammar rules. It's kind of meant to be translated literally.
