Is it 5pm yet? Is it?????

I went and read the Inquisition is boring thread and I recommend NOT doing the same if you value your sanity.

Anything in Feedback and Suggestions should also be avoided.  Unless you enjoy banging your head off a desk.

11/10 for Falon'Din as Byron. I am utterly and completely behind that.

BUT WHAT DOES THIS MAKE ABELAS.

Abelas is John Donne: was forced into a religious position for a time, but also wrote some of the hottest erotic love poetry around. In fact, he couldn't get the eros out of his religious poetry. "Batter my heart," indeed.

For Solas feels:

Spoiler

I almost wrote "Falos feels."

Falos (pronounced like phallus because I'm awful) is now a thing.

Falon'Din/Dirthamen:

Spoiler

Abelas:

Also, yes to the Neutral MilkHotel. YES.

More Solas music under the cut - In my '80's AU Inquisition - This is all Sollavellan. And Lavellan/Solas definitely danced to "Bizarre Love Triangle" at Halamshiral in this universe - but the remix. Because it's better.

"Temptation 7'' - New Order

He was totally into poetry. The very first conversation you have with him at Haven he breaks out the iambs. Anyone who talks in poetic meter can get it.

The Pantheon was into poetry. Falon'Din is basically Lord Byron, who drank from a skull, brought a bear with him to Oxford when he was told he couldn't bring his dog, was famously described as "mad, bad, and dangerous to know," and also the whole incest thing. So. Also, hot.

Andruil is Sappho.

Dirthamen is Christopher Marlowe. Also a legendary lover. A bit of a scamp and criminal. And hot.

I'll give Ovid to Solas--exiled, wrote some politically scandalous poetry--Augustus and he were not on good terms. Also the Ars amatoria.

Mythal is the Delphic Sybil.

Elgar'nan is Homer.

Sylaise is Emily Dickinson (total homebody)

Ghilan'nain is Mary Shelley

June is Wordsworth. Because he totally waxes poetic about nature and things like flowers and whom Byron mercilessly made fun of--my favorite was when Byron called him "Turdsworth."

I stand corrected.

I'm trying desperately to catch up but I've been sucked into Crusader Kings II and you all have moved on without me.  I just wanted to point out this little tidbit for people who think Solas wanted Coyrpheus to unlock the orb.  At :50

I wrote 2000 words drawing parallels and differences between Solas and Blackwall after reading the first 5 pages I missed.  Needless to say I haven't gotten much done at work today.  :D

That comment always bothered me too. We assume that he gave the orb to Corypheus to unlock because he tells Flemeth that we was too weak to unlock it after his slumber. What if that wasn't the real reason? Sooo many questions, so little answers. *sigh*

On Solas/Blackwall paralells, I think the game has a running theme on past mistakes and forgiveness, trying to change things and regretting the outcome. It's more than just Blackwall. Hawke says to Varric in response to Varric's "So much for changing our lives" comment, "That's what happens when you try to change things. Things change."

I dunno, random possibilities keep popping into my head as to what Solas' plan might be. A common assumption is that he wants to wake the Elven gods, but if that were the case, wouldn't he need the inquisitor? She's the key now (see Divine Justinia conversation in the Fade). If he doesn't need the key, what could his plan be now?

I've been in a funk all week because my latest theory is that he now plans to undo it all using time magic by going back and never sealing the gods away in the first place. No Tevinter blood magic, no blight, no archdemons, no alienages, no Dalish persecution, no loss of elven immortality. It sounds like just the kind of bad plan he's known for and it breaks my heart because it would mean my Lavellan never existed. That they never loved each other and he would have to exist knowing that he'd erased her to save the People.  :?   :o

From alternate future Redcliffe - Solas says, "Can you reverse the process? You could return and obviate the events of the last year. It may not be too late. I'm dying, but no matter. If you can undo this, they can all be saved. This world is an abomination. It must never come to past."

What if he's decided it's the only way to help the People? I'll be under my desk with a blanket and a bottle of wine waiting for someone to write a happy ending fan fiction to help me through this. If anyone decides to write a fan fiction of my theory, I don't want to know about it.

My current head canon is that his intention is to hunt down the remaining magisters to ensure they never become as powerful as Corry...

I love the sound of it, but wasn't time magic (at least the method used by... whatshisname Alexius) only made possible by the Breach? It's well and truly closed now, as is the door to time magic.

Edit because I don't know how to structure sentences.

All you people and your lovely music!  My Lavellan is thinking about new beginnings.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Cm6xtkX_Dvs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And I am waiting, should I be waiting?
And I am wanting, should I be wanting?
And I am hopeful, should I be hopeful?

When all around me,
When all around me…

Is the sunlight

Is the shadows
Is the quiet

Is the work
Is the beating heart

Is the ocean

Is the boys
Is you, my sweet love (my sweet love).
O my love (o my love).

And the light, bright light

@Liz-- last night I was playing Cards Against Humanity with my husband and his friends and I got the cards "powerful thighs" and "sexual tension" in succession.

I just thought you needed to know that.

I think Abelas is trying to turn me.

I've heard that conversation before, but listening it to a second [or third?] time:

"Assuming I can plausibly predict a man who seeks to rise to godhood."

"And can you?"

"The key is understanding this: no real god need prove himself. Anyone who tries is mad or lying. His deception will undo him, as it has done countless fools before."

The Inquisitor's question to Solas doesn't really make sense when you think about it. How could he? But from a narrative perspective, we want to hear what Solas has to say because of who Solas actually is. I don't think Solas is saying that line because he is a 'true' god, and thus doesn't need to prove who he is. I think he's saying that that's exactly what he and the other elven gods did in the past, and that's why they failed.

This. It seems the board is in a SOLAS IS A LIAR! ALL HAIL GLITTERY GODS! mood at the moment. x)
