Very rarely, many are from the NA continent so they are working or have plans at this time and day. EX. Am Lurking on the thread but actually outside.

Hence why I gave up on participating during the week. When the fun starts, I'm snoring in my bed because it's the middle of the night in Orlais.

On weekends though, might be easier to tag along.

If he did...I'd need some time to deal with that revelation.  Oh, Felassan.... :(

Yeah, I love the character very much, and I kinda hope we can avenge him. So it won't be easy if it turns out to be true.

Genesis  1:1

In the beginning, someone cried out, "Let there be glam rock Gods." And then the glitter-dystopia Pantheon was born. The thread saw that it was good.

Not Solas, but still apropos:

Spoiler

This, this is all I see when I think of the pantheon now, I was going to hunt down the perfect picture, but it seems you already did...

Also, yes..much sads :(.

Last night, Carrieli, laurelinvanyar, and myself stayed up to ungodly hours theorizing. Though we touched upon many subjects (and laughed until we were all hoarse), what we tentatively determined about how Corypheus came upon the orb was most interesting.

Why would Solas give a blighted magister an orb of such power? Perhaps the answer is, in fact, that he did not directly do so.
Several instances appear to hint to this. For instance, Corypheus never seems to recognize Solas; indeed, if don't play an elf and bring him to the final battle, Corypheus belittles you for bringing along a tattered mage "rattus" (as he likes to call the elves). Should you have Samson instead of Calpernia, in a found note, he will describe how Corypheus once told him the orb came to him for a reason.

Furthermore, we were struck by a particular piece of art seen only once on the war table when beginning What Pride Had Wrought.
Here we see an unknown figure either placing or removing an orb from a remote pedestal in an underground setting. Light and water are pouring in from above. Why is this the art for the Temple of Mythal? We never see a place like this in game. So we theorized, perhaps, what we are seeing is Cadash Thaig, where elves from Arlathan once sheltered after the fall. After all, in Witch Hunt, we encountered the Lights of Arlathan and were forced to fight ancient elven guardians (were these sentinels, like at the Temple of Mythal?) and we all remember the Eluvian. Furthermore, it is a space underground....with surface light pouring in from above.

We believe that upon waking, Solas too weak to utilize his orb, sought out help and found none he could trust. Perhaps then, Solas took the orb to a once safe place: Cadash Thaig. He might have left it there in hopes it would not be discovered as he searched out other options. Unfortunately, around the same time, Corypheus awakened. When our magister takes the body of Larius or Janeka during the events of Legacy, he begins to travel the Deep Roads freely. Cadash Thaig is connected to the Deep Roads, and isn't too far from the Vinmark Mountains anyway. It isn't a stretch to imagine he might have found the orb himself in this way.

As an interesting aside, we also wondered whether Solas sought out Flemeth at this time. We determined that to be likely, but perhaps he did so never knowing she was also Mythal. We know that the Dalish revere the swamp witch as Asha'bellanar and speak tales of her power. We know Solas spent time among the Dalish, and also that he visited Flemeth's hut.

Yes, singing.

And things that a hobo-apostate should be good at: sewing, cooking, whittling.

At camp on Solas's night to cook:

Solas: [throws everything into a pot and hopes it will work out]

Inquisitor: Ummm. What is this?

Dorian: Inedible.

Solas: (tastes it . . . makes "tea face") It's edible.

Dorian: Barely.

Bull: I don't know. I think it's pretty good.

Dorian: Well, you don't have the most refined of palettes. So, Solas, what do you call this "Root Surprise?" "A Ram Died for This?" Is cooking a new thing for you? Odd.

Solas: Yes.  . . . I mean no.

Dorian: Well you cook about as well as you tailor your clothes.

Edit: Obviously agree with Kissiebear about the cooking.

So Solas went to Alistair's Fereldan Cooking School? :P

Love piano. <3 I remember being able to play Pachelbel's Canon with my eyes closed in school on the keyboard, but I would have loved to be able to play a proper piano with all the feets pedals and everything. x) Just gotta learn... and get a piano... and space to put the piano in. x)

Sadly, I've had to make due with a keyboard most of my life.  Kinda hard to get the same emotion out of a keyboard, but I just don't have the space for a piano and they are waaaaay to expensive for me. Currently have a 76-key digital piano that has served me well for five years, makes it easy to record sporadic YT vidoes. *sigh* I need to win the lottery and buy myself a grand piano.

Ah, Felassan. My favorite character from TME, so naturally he is killed. He was a breath of fresh air next to all those Orlesians and has so many good lines. I keep going back and forth on the whole "did solas kill him or not?" Need more data.

Just a further musings on Felassan's final comment:

Spoiler

Ok I like this because it means there's more of a set-up for Solas' post inquisition mission being to work against whoever it was in the fade. Which I like better than the thought that Solas might be up to something that the Inquisition would have to oppose him on.

Weekends are a bit more rowdy anyway since we all can kind of stay up - last weekend was Meer's wacked out VN. Before that it was mine with the guy with the mayo fetish.

Me too on Felassan.  He would have been on my Lavellan's man-rotation and SOMEBODY took that chance away from her.  The pain is REAL.

I like what Giton said so much it hurts - about the tragedy of decay.  I think we're going to see Solas really just at odds with himself - or at least I hope we do.  He seems to want to fix his mistake so bad, but I think he'll be confronted with the reminder of why he had to do it in the first place.  And I do believe he was friends with - if not all - MOST of them once - trusted them. Just to see them as shadows of what they once were would be heartbreaking.

Perhaps he was searching for powerful mages that might have been able to help him access the orb.

Yes...yes I like that a lot and I think it fits with how much DA likes to focus on things being morally grey.

And yes I really love Felassan and I'm kind of in denial right now.

All this talk of Felassan makes me want to read The Masked Empire. Besides Felassan (evidently) being Best Elf, is it a good read?

Solas would not approve of my weekend plans, which consist of marathon watching the new season of House of Cards. \o/

I had a super hard time with the beginning. But haha once Felassan showed up in the story it got way easier and was a good read imo.

My secret want is something like that.

I would love if the elven gods had a connection to the blight in some capacity. And the story of conquering the blight is one that has to be 'fought' on numerous levels. You could have Solas, Morrigan, and possibly the Inquisitor dealing with the 'god' tier blight problems. You would have the grey wardens going into the deep roads dealing with the darkspawn themselves. Then you have the common people attempting to set society into order in places like Tevinter and elsewhere. Chances are we'll also need someone working against demons if they are also involved.

I'd love if each game filled a slot. And then we'd have a final game where we could see all these different people working towards that goal. Not sure if that would ever be feasible to do, but.

It is worth it for best elf. You will also likely appreciate Briala/Gaspard/Celene a lot more.

See I want that but his voice is already too melodic and sing-songy.  I feel he would have a lovely voice.

EDIT:  Maybe cooking.  He's ok at simple stuff.  Like stuff you can make at a small camp fire, but beyond that...TERRIBLE.   Also, maybe throwing.  Like physical "sports".   You ask him to toss you something and it falls short and you're like 'what the crap?'

I think that Solas is the worst in the Inner Circle at cooking.  The man has spent 1000+ years on his own.  He probably thinks he's the best cook but his food in inedible to anyone but him.

Right? Actually, I forgot an important piece of concept art Carrieli found. Though it has changed since being uploaded, the original title was something like "Sunken Arlathan" (though she could tell you better, my memory from last night is slightly hazed from having 30 minutes of sleep total  ). If we look at this, and then at the art from What Pride Had Wrought, perhaps this was above the area in Cadash Thaig.

But I agree. It seems likely that Solas sought powerful mages after waking, perhaps specifically ones trusted by the People. What you mention about his wonder at Mythal's continued presence is also a good point; I feel like he definitely did not know, perhaps until we did.

Yes...yes this makes sense to me. Ok I'm firmly on team that wasn't FH in the fade. But now I really want to know what vallaslin Felassan had. That isn't known at this time, correct?

haha I felt so conceited linking to that but I was like...oh wait I drew a thing about that >_>

Welcome to Team Fen'Harel Isn't A Murderer!

And I have the feeling that Felassan's vallaslin will belong to the god that killed him.  So we're unlikely to find out any time soon.

That does sound lovely. But I waffle between optimism and pessimism with how well Bioware can end a story.

I am sure Solas would approve.

I prefer to think that he knows Flemyth=Mythal.

I think what he meant by "Mythal endures" might refer to the original idea of "Mythal" enduring--i. e. that the ancient sentinels remember and preserve a sliver of her past glory. That Abelas knows what was lost. He knows what happened to Mythal. That it is her story that has endured. That the traditions and history, even though fragments, have remained.

Although, I don't know how to square that with Solas/Morrigan interactions.

I just can't see Flemyth and Solas hiding their identites from each other given how deep their relationship seems to be. They seem to really trust each other.

Falon'Din and Dirthamen teaching Solas how to sing.

Spoiler

Found the poorest of excuses to link that vid.

Having a nice sounding voice doesn't mean one knows how to sing properly. I imagine Solas heard Cullen at the Dawn Will Come scene and thought "Nope. I'll be very quiet. And very silent."
