I want to give Cullen's romance a go before I judge compare it to Solas' romance, but I think it's just normal PR stuff to keep you playing, and Cullen's romance is pretty popular if you look at the number of thread pages alone. *eyeballs Cullen thread*

Hey, lol! We just had a 5k celebration in the Cullen thread and we talk about the Solas romance as much as you guys talk about Cullen's. It's pretty entertaining how similar each thread is and that is why I love both!

 

Finished Cullen romance, currently working on Blackwall romance but I'm writing Solas (with a dash of Abelas/OC) fanfic and I'm still listening to Hallelujah (and other sad things on my Sollavellan playlist).  What does that say?

 

I almost wish I hadn't romanced Solas first.  The other romances are good, but I don't think any of them are going to hold a candle to the Solas tragedy.  I'll probably play all of them (except Sera's - she just feels more like a younger friend than a romance).  But I'm sure my canon will always be Solas.

I generally agree.  Thinking through the BioWare games I've played with more than one PC and romance, I think for me the only exception is DA2.  I played through Anders' romance first, like the tragedy-loving idiot I am, then did a playthrough for Izzy.

When i saw cullen thread talking about romancing solas, I questioned where I was.

XD Most of us there have romanced Solas or are romancing him. Arty is tying to avoid spoilers, I am writing fanfiction to fill the void, and R2 has just experienced her first pain with Solas.

God, I'm so upset. This is not what I need after a long, hard work week I was looking forward to kicking back with my lovely elven boyfriend! *massive sigh* Okay, going to go back several hours and replay the Fade scene, then hopefully the tea cup scene will trigger afterward.

 

It seems the modder has disabled comments on his/her Nexus page, so I can't ask. And the modder has also provided a NEW version of the mod with the instructions "do not download" for the old mod. I wonder if I can get rid of the old one and download the new one without any problems. 

 

I'm pretty upset right now I feel like all I ever do is jump through hopes just to try to enjoy this dang game.

I have always done my canon romance first, but this time I am torn between Cullen, Solas, and Cassandra. I love all those romances.

 

As for DA2, well, my favs were Isabela's and Anders' romances. I love both my little rebel cat-lover and Izzy!

XD I joined the Solas thread whenever I finished his romance, but time gets in the way of me keeping up here and the Cullen thread. Lol, the other threads are really nice....most of them. And I think if our threads combined then BSN might crash.

Unfortunately those mods are getting an ENORMOUS amount of heat - same thing with Cass' bi mod. The hate they were getting is absolutely atrocious.  They had to shut down their comments.   The old mod may have issues.  You can always go to the dedicated modding thread to see if anyone has any suggestions and/or if replacing it would cause problems. I don't see how, it would be nothing more than a patch but I would copy over your saves, just in case.    I'm alsot not very skilled at modding. 

 

I hope you get to enjoy the romance the whole way through!!

Nope, you get it still. You cannot reject his quest. You will say you have no time, he will be annoyed and "mark it on your map so your people can avoid the area". You go there and.... there you go. Rejection is only a way to gather further disapproval in his case.

I usually have the first playthrough as a test playthrough, but this is the only game where the test playthrough IS my canon. Previously my second playthrough was always my canon since I already got the hang of it and I always like to pick the tragic story most. My warden romanced Morrigan then stabbed her, and my Hawke lost everyone he loved, romanced anders, then killed him. Solas was already tragic so that was probably why I was content with the first try of this game.

 

Or at least when I have time to figure out how to rival romance Solas. I really missed the rival romances in da2. Make him hate you, but love you, but also still hate you and vice versa:

Okay guys I wanted to share a song with you, although I don't know if any of you will like it. It's technically Vocaloid, but since it only consists of Miku going "Aahh," I don't really consider it as such. Anyway, it's called Elysium (Interlude), by BERNIS, who made an awesome album that I actually bought a copy of. (If you like futurey-fantasy-spacy type music, you may like it.)

 

Get to the point, Armdin! *huff* Anyway, the song, Elysium, had some lyrics that reminded me of a Solas, particularly in a death scene:

I'm going to laugh at you when you CAN'T kill Solas and all you get is the happy fluffy ending.   You'll be frowning as he forces you skip with him through rainbow covered fields and riding unicorns into the sunset.

Ugh. That sucks. I figured that's what happened. A few crappy trolls ruin it for the HUNDREDS of us who download and love those mods. Well I did post in the modding thread, so we'll see what happens. In the meantime, I'm replaying through the Fade cut scene then will see if it triggers afterward.

 

I'm also very new to modding and PC gaming. I bought my PC just for DAI because I was so unhappy with the romances lol I've waited a LONG time for this, baby!!!
