Opposite problem. I find writing a more practical skill. I write like a primary child who writes their paper drunk and at two in the morning.

 

Should we be worried how many primary school children you see who are drunk at two in the morning?

I prefer to think that he knows Flemyth=Mythal.

 

I think what he meant by "Mythal endures" might refer to the original idea of "Mythal" enduring--i. e. that the ancient sentinels remember and preserve a sliver of her past glory. That Abelas knows what was lost. He knows what happened to Mythal. That it is her story that has endured. That the traditions and history, even though fragments, have remained.

 

Although, I don't know how to square that with Solas/Morrigan interactions.

 

I just can't see Flemyth and Solas hiding their identites from each other given how deep their relationship seems to be. They seem to really trust each other.

I am picturing him not knowing Mythal was hanging around in some old lady and then, as soon as he's within ten yards of her, he recognizes her.  Apparently my head canon now includes them meeting ages ago and having a great reunion convo over a few bottles of wine.  This ties in nicely with my determined belief in the face of no evidence whatsoever that Solas was in uthenara on Sundermount.

I can sort of draw. I don't think I've ever drawn my Lavellan the same way twice. ;_; I really lack consistency.

I'm gonna have to give your works a read, aren't I.

X3 Somehow my character's face always turns out like a puffer fish. I lack any talent/skill when it comes to drawing, so I really respect those who can draw.

 

I would suggest my Solavellan fic. My Cullen one is going to be edited sometime in the future.

I have a massive imagination so I can imagine what I would like to draw, but I can never manage to draw what I envisioned. However, I can describe it so very easily whenever I write.

I never draw what I envision, and I don't know anyone who does. That's why most people tend to be a bit disparaging about their works, because it's never as good as what's in their head. From my experience anyway. x)

Oooh, now you've got me thinking of who MY absolute #1 favorite BioWare character would be.  So hard to choose.  There are so many awesome characters!

 

For lasting impact, I have to go with Jon Irenicus.  Sorry, Solas, I love you, but that character has been part of my brainscape for almost a decade now.  Baldur's Gate 2 is an old-ass game, and Irenicus still never fails to give me chills.

The same thing for writing. I believe there are so many different definitions of "artist". I always find it somewhat amusing that people who are so creative, well, they also seem to be the ones who are highly critical of their work even if it is amazing. I know I am.

 

I have to have an outlet somewhere for all my imagination and that typically ends up pouring out through my descriptions.

I imagine at a distance, cole is watching atop one of the towers, staring down at solas who is creeping. Cole says his cryptic poetic words, then ends it "I have to help", then he strips to reveal a frilly bikini.

O_O Nope. I do not touch Cole, lol. He is a bit out of my safe-box when it comes to writing...which is odd since Cullen and Solas are also pretty hard to write for. I took a different path with Fen'Harel and people seem to really like it.

I think that's why I never talk about the balcony kiss, why Fade-tongue and The Breakup™ gets all my attention. It confuses the hell out of me. It's so sweet, and mushy, and then he says whatever it is he says in elven (where I scramble and see what it means afterwards and squeal), and then he just... walks away?! Excuse me? And Lavellan is just standing there all sultry, staring dreamily at his retreating back and she doesn't look confused in the slightest, but I am.

 

Come back here and give me my fade-to-black boink scene, you egg!

 

I appreciate in earlier conversations that a lot of people prefer the lack of a sex scene, but goddamn it if there was ever going to be one, it should have been there.

 

Urgh. It confuses me so much. T_T Any help to make sense of that scene would be appreciated.

 

Patrick Weekes wanted people to be able to make up their own mind as to whether or not Solas and Lavellan ever actually had sex. So we basically have to head cannon it.

I don't know. Cullen is frightened of what lurks outside and Solas may or may not be experiencing sorrow of lavellan, maybe he's delighted. I just can't figure out how cole would read the situation. Maybe I just want to bring bikini Cole back but with a reason.

I am an on again/off again artist. Which basically means I go years without drawing anything and then suddenly get this huge massive art boner, but I'm so out of practice I'm paralyzed until I finally just get over myself and just do it. It's ridiculous and I hate myself for being this way, but what are you going to do? I can't make myself draw when the inspiration isn't there.

 

So, I just bought a Wacom tablet because I thought it would be nice to have access to all of the different art mediums digitally and so far I've sketched an eye. I will get there and it will probably be Solas that I draw, but man, I'm a pansy too. I get nervous and embarrassed just thinking about it.

 

So, yeah...I've put myself in this really awkward, high pressure situation (new tablet, totally out of practice, want to paint Solas masterpiece). Gah
