More elven translations because I DO WHAT I WANT!!!!! This time, it's the nightmare's little spiel to Solas in the Fade. I know it's been done before, but I'm gonna do it anyway, since it seems like everybody has their own translation. Might as well add mine to the pile. 

 

 

Dirth ma, harellan. 

 

Dirth= speak, tell, or secrets

Ma= my, mine, you (implied possesive)

Harellan= either rebel or trickster. I'm going with rebel, since that was the original translation back in Arlathan. 

 

So that's a lot of word salad. The best I can come up with is "secrets you have, rebel." "You have secrets, trickster."

 

Ma banal enasalin. 

 

Ma= my, mine, you (implied possesive)

Banal= nothing, not, no

Enasalin= victory

 

Literally "you have no victory". 

 

Mar Solas ena mar din. 

 

Mar= no translation

Solas= pride

Ena= emerge, appear

Din= not, isn't, can refer to someone who is dead 

 

This is where it gets tricky. "mar pride appear mar isn't". Lolwut? 

 

Perhaps "You do not appear to be Pride"? Or maybe "Your appearance as Pride is false?"

 

So there you go.

I haven't figured out how to participate yet.  Also haven't found courage yet.  Also have to get up at the butt crack of dawn to proctor a science competition.  Should be sleeping instead of lurking on various social networks arguing about the color of a dress.  But hey, did you guys see those llamas?

Now I'm going to try to figure out the phase we've most wanted in elven: "Elven Glory"

Din'an Hanin

 

Din= not, isn't, indicates someone who has died

An= place or location

 

So that leaves Hanin as "glory". I wondered if perhaps the "-in" part of the word could be translated to "inside" but I decided that it doesn't, since it would have been Han'in instead. 

 

So there you go. "Elven Glory" would be:
