I would agree with you, but i'm used to being nocturnal. The distraction part is true, times like this is when I wish I wasn't a student so every night can be a free night. Don't follow my example. gchat can be confusing at first, but you can make up a mock-up gchat with only your phone and computer. This allows you to figure out controls.edit: that's how i figured out so I can have conferences with people without fumbling and delaying time.I haven't figured out how to participate yet. Also haven't found courage yet. Also have to get up at the butt crack of dawn to proctor a science competition. Should be sleeping instead of lurking on various social networks arguing about the color of a dress. But hey, did you guys see those llamas?

Now I'm going to try to figure out the phase we've most wanted in elven: "Elven Glory"
It starts with a line from this codex: http://dragonage.wik...Emerald_Knights
"Let the true name burn away and enter Din'an Hanin, the place where glory ends."
Din'an Hanin
Din= not, isn't, indicates someone who has died
An= place or location
So that leaves Hanin as "glory". I wondered if perhaps the "-in" part of the word could be translated to "inside" but I decided that it doesn't, since it would have been Han'in instead.
So there you go. "Elven Glory" would be:
Elvhen Hanin!!!
Enjoy.
...I swear I have heard Merrill shout this during combat. Well done ![]()

I think that's why I never talk about the balcony kiss, why Fade-tongue and The Breakup gets all my attention. It confuses the hell out of me. It's so sweet, and mushy, and then he says whatever it is he says in elven (where I scramble and see what it means afterwards and squeal), and then he just... walks away?! Excuse me? And Lavellan is just standing there all sultry, staring dreamily at his retreating back and she doesn't look confused in the slightest, but I am.
Come back here and give me my fade-to-black boink scene, you egg!
I appreciate in earlier conversations that a lot of people prefer the lack of a sex scene, but goddamn it if there was ever going to be one, it should have been there.
Urgh. It confuses me so much. T_T Any help to make sense of that scene would be appreciated.

Thank you. This is good. Have intense desire to write some Solavellan porn using this phrase in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way.

Can I go to you for all of my translation needs? Because I suck at it, and you appear to be quite good.
Edit: Left out a word entirely. And I've only had one beer.

The thread is so quiet I'm reduced to elvhen burial ritual research.
You may have noticed I define the term research a little loosely.
If there are to be tentacles (and, one presumes, probing thereby) I may stick around after all, though. ![]()

Speaking of elven burial... do elves decapitate their dead before burying them under the tree? Because if they don't, it would explain why there are so many undead around ancient elven ruins.

I was just thinking of elves in forest-y context but now that you mention it I'm pretty sure their relatively intact bods shouldn't be popping out of shallow graves like that. At least in the Fallow Mire you got a pass for skipping the lore-specified incendiary funerals (though given the number of undead the place must have been much more heavily populated than the scattered cabins might lead you to believe).
Solas ToP from I don't know where because I haven't found the source. It appears to be on Instagram but I don't have an account. This came from a scraping site that lists the primary tag as #baldelf. ![]()

While nobody's here I might as well post all my wonderings. First, if a half-elf (though human by appearance) has children with an elf will their offspring still be human? If you repeat this through a few generations will there be a point where the child "reverts" to being an elf or do the human genes just clobber the elven ones and replace them somehow? Else, magic?
Second, Solas says he never could have imagined Cory could have opened the orb and he seems to have known he was a Tevinter magister. How the hell did he find Cory in the first place or vice versa? Did he just think the orb would suck up whatever power Coryflakes put into it, creating a husk Solas could kill easily and giving him his focus filled with magic juice? Seriously, this whole orb thing is driving me mad.

Cole says something in the Fallow Mire about how they couldn't burn the dead fast enough and then they were ALL dead. ![]()

I don't think its possible for elf genes to revert back. Reverting would make sense if you think about genetics, but it seems like there's something 'weak' [magically or otherwise] about elven blood. You add something else to it, and it doesn't go back.
Granted, we have no evidence of that either. But I don't think humans actually 'infected' elves with mortality. More likely elves realized that whenever the two races cohabited and formed relationships, human blood dominated. Humans also likely breed faster than elves, making it even worse.
Which must have been infuriating to the elvhen.
