I'm not even going to lie. I spoke to Brynhallavellan, also of Tumblr, and we discussed the Pantheon's Glitter olympics...probably a month ago, now. I write a lot about Falon'Din and he'd win first place in the glitterlympics let's be real
So. I was casually singing Do Re Mi from Sound of Music...and I realized that each note can represent an elven god...
Do: a female deer - ghilga'nin or whatever.
Re: a drop of golden sun - elgar'nan
Mi: a name I call myself - Falon'Din (cause vanity and all)
Fa: a long way to run - andruil (the void journey and such)
So: a needle pulling thread - June (crafting)
La: a note to follow - dirthamen (because he's always following Falon'Din around
Te: a drink ....Sylaise. Because she's the last one standing against the wall.
I'm so proud of myself...
WHY ARE YOU SO CUTE RITE NAO????

Wow, what kind of PC are you rocking to get screenshots like that?
I. Feel. Important. Though Giton is completely responsible for the glitter gods. I am but a humble servant...
You should feel important, your work is part of the Siren song drawing people into the thread. And it's awesome.

It's probably blood magic on both your parts -- I'm not sure how else to describe a glitteratti pantheon.

I have a Clevo P170EM laptop, i7-3630QM 2.4GHz, 8 GB RAM, AMD 7970M 2GB. I can't run everything on max, but close enough (tesselation, shadows, terrain are on high, and I don't use any of the in-game anti-aliasing). I don't get good fps with that, but while a smooth game feels nice to play I prefer it to look nice so I can take screenshots if I have the choice.
I use SweetFX. The biggest impact on graphics in there is the SMAA and Lumasharpening, which give a good and low cost version of anti-aliasing and decent sharpening to make textures pop. Then you can do a bunch of stuff with colours and contrast too.
You should check out the Best Screenshots thread in my sig - there are some talented people taking beautiful pictures in that thread ![]()

Probably:

Also, Blood Magic.
Edit: Obviously a candid shot of Falon'Din, Dirthamen, and Andruil.
On Tumblr? path-of-sorrows? yes omg......that's me...
If you have feedback, I'd love to hear it!

I really love your take on the character...it's pretty much informed how I view him minus the non-romance(dem thighs). You capture his voice so well, which must have been difficult given that he was in the game for like 10 min. So you know, general kudos! EDIT: It's sort of helped me flesh out my own thoughts on him and my head-canon-y stuff post Corypheus.
I throw any of my art i dislike away. Is that terrible? I do. I get irritated with most of it.
No, no. I've done that too. Though instead of deleting them, i just make a new account and pretend I never heard of it. I also draw worst around friends and family so they will never ask me for favors because I was also the computer kid.
Random question since everybody here seems to be a great artist
Does any of you by any chance own a Cintiq HQ? If yes, which one?
I am reeeeeeeeally tempted to get one in the future, but it just costs SO much I would probably have to sell my liver or something... And there isn't any place I can go and try it for myself, see if it's responsive, if the pen doesn't **** up and it actually colors where you click, if a hd 13 would be too small to actually draw in it.. etc.
Opinions? xD
Thank you
Alternatively I've also seen some people seem to like these http://www.yiynova.e...=2&product_id=8which are a bit less expensive and the screen is bigger (although less resolution). Some have said there is some jitter if you draw very slow, but others haven't found any problem and are overall very happy.
Mmmh.. I'll have to think about it. I'm poor at the moment anyway so first I'd have to find a job(which maybe hopefully I have..)
I have a yiynova, though mine is about 4 years old. I'm sure they improve it alot but I have Yiynova 19 pc-tablet ($500). It does have a little jitter but I also have Lazy Nezumi Pro ($35) extension to calculate averages and it also has other presets like making trees,, constrict to make straight lines at any direction with perspective preset, ugh it's wonderful. So with both the yiynova tablet & the extension, it was only $535, which is still a fourth of a cost for a wacom tablet.
I'm pretty anti-wacom. Sorry. Maybe it's my frugal side, maybe it's my computer side. I feel like today people are just buying it because it's a brand, in fact, the oldest graphic tablet brand that people feel nostalgic for. That's why everyone still recommends it. Yes, it's still kind of the best, but only kinda of. I never used tablet buttons anyway, and the resolution on cheaper tablets might be lower but that's the only complaint I have but I draw zoomed and I could just amp up the art program's instead of sitting 3 inches from my monitor. Touch screen technology(digitizers) has come a long way and because of the tablets, smart phones, and whatever else. This makes the technology so affordable that alot of companies have jumped it, Huion and Monoprice are my current favorites since i use their portable ones. I heard reviews of yiynova has improved their pc-tablet to be competitive to wacom, but I haven't tried it yet. Waiting for my current pc-tablet to break before testing the pc-tablet market again.
Thank you Rabbit, that was very nice to read. I've had a look at the reviews on amazon for the Yiynova and they seem quite nice. I also zoom a lot when I draw so resolution wouldn't really be a main problem for me.
That extension looks so interesting.
I'm going to start saving my money so I can buy that hopefully by this summer.
Can you pinch to zoom with your Yiynova?
I still have a lame bamboo tablet that is like almost 8 years old, and I find that having to lift the hand off the pen and get to mouse/keyboard to zoom in photoshop is the most annoying thing ever in the world and it takes away a big chunk of my time.
Sorry for the offtopic guys.
Here, have a shy cute Solas as an apology.
@Catabuca- Thanks! I can run everything on the highest settings as well, but it somehow still doesn't look as nice as that. Really makes you appreciate the work put into each and every character.

Scrolling back through the past few pages only reaffirms this. This is fine.
edit: but creators i am so confused
Y'all are going to corrupt the best Abelas writer out there and then I'm going to have to come in here with my hair whip mashup and set things right.

Oh gosh, thanks so much! This sounds cliche but I honestly owe a lot to the people I write with. It's not fanfiction, really, and so I'm able to get a lot more exposure to different ideas. Since I have a roleplay blog, it's a lot more engaging and a lot more informed by interactions and feedback from other characters and writers. Fun experience! I'm so glad I was able to help you construct a more cohesive picture!
Honestly, it was fairly easy for me to capture his voice and project his motivations into the future. The hard part is reconstructing his past, and so that is something I will continue to struggle with. It's been so much fun interpretting his character and I'm frankly flabbergasted by the tremendous response I've received!
(as for the asexual aromantic part, well....I can certainly see Abelas opening up towards romantic interest later. it would take time, of course, for a lot of complex reasons that I think are, nevertheless, fairly apparent. but I can see it happening. it's not difficult to express him as ace/aro, because it's not a thing that I feel, features prominently on his list of motivations, but I certainly feel it's a possibility for him to change. still, if he ever were to return and become a romantic character, I cannot see it evolving any way but slowly. people minimize his background in the way that Fenris' is minimized, and portray him as very sexually forward. personally, I don't imagine that would be the case in an early relationship.
honestly, I've chosen to portray him in this way partially to stave off the requests I get bombarded with, and it's the easiest way to develop my portrayal without constantly having to reject people. oops.)
