Has anyone here ordered the Hermit shirt? I know it just shipped so probably no one has it yet, but I'm super curious about the fit and the quality if people have ordered it and when it does arrive.

Both Maric and Katriel.  I didn't buy into their twu wuv, so I just wanted to strangle them.  Between having Maric for a dad and Fiona for a mom, I think Alistair is some kind of miracle child for NOT turning out to be a self-absorbed, narcissistic moron.

I basically skipped on The Calling and the comic storyline because I just want to punch something whenever Maric is mentioned. Didn't start reading the books again until Asunder and Masked Empire. I still need to read Last Flight.

Thanks! I do want it, but it's kind of pricey, and I'd like it more if it were a tank, so I could have some more hiking/work out clothes. I don't strictly /need/ another t-shirt. But it does have Solas on it, and I love the tarot card art from the game so much.

Continued sketching from earlier. It's as finished as it's ever going to get. I kept shading so much he rather looks like that dark-skinned Solas mod. I also could not get the eyes to line up right for the life of me. Maybe it's time to try something less realistic, and maybe play with something other than the pencil tool or use some color.

Starting to read The Stolen Throne now. Figured it might help me get more into my DA:O playthrough, and understand characters and settings of this game. I hope I'll like it as much if not more than The Masked Empire.

It was my favorite of the novels before Last Flight. It's pretty rough, as I think Gaider would admit, but I just liked the Red Dawn "take back our country" vibe. Plus Flemeth hanging out with the Dalish.

The names of mages' "staves":

Orsino's "Staff of Corruption" corrupted many young acolytes  . . . and eventually Meredith.

 

Anders wielded the "Mystical Healing Staff of Bow-Chicka-Wow-Wow" throughout Awakenings . . . and was famous at the Pearl for repeatedly demonstrating the magical healing powers of his staff. Anders's post-Justice "Fiery Vengence! What?! Am I Coming on Too Strong? Staff" would prove he often couldn't contain his staff's explosive power.

 

Solas's "Staff of Indomitable Focus" proved to be able to withstand repeated, nightly sieges.   

 

Dorian's "Altus in the Streets, But Magister in the Sheets Staff" was impeccably well-manicured and highly well-versed in many ancient Tevinter staff techniques. It was also, of course, delightful.

 

 

Thus, when I read "Staff of Corruption" my mind went somewhere magical. The end.

I agree. I've gotten all the way to the multiplayer home screen and then decided nope... it wasn't happening. I still haven't played it... I doubt I ever will.

In the Solas romance, do people find it very lacking? It feels like quality over quantity, yet I'd like a bit more. There's barely any altered dialogue insinuating a romance or even a "kiss him" option. I didn't even know exactly what was going on between them until Solas dumps the pc. Note: There was no "start a romance with Solas" trigger. There are comments like Sera joking about him yelling "elven glory" in bed and the bartender commenting that I have time to bed my allies, but is this just speculation? Were they in an actual relationship at all? I find it curious that his tarot card doesn't change to a romance one until he dumps you.

 

With 3000+ pages this has probably been covered many times but I'm certainly not going to look through them.

@congokong, I'm sure someone can give you a more informed answer, but the Solas romanced was added in the space allotted thanks to extended development.  Apparently, someone (I think...Cassandra?) hints at their relationship in banter dialogue but I've never experienced it.  for a Bioware game, I felt that companion reactions and quantity of content was extremely sparse -- almost nonexistent.  I was incredibly disappointed to learn, upon a second playthrough, that all encounters with him (save for the last one) are just extensions of scenes you'd get in any friendship with Solas.

 

But again, that's due to time and budgeting, probably.  Mostly time.

After the second romance scene, they are in a relationship. Whether that relationship was sexual or not is up for you to decide. Weekes deliberately wrote it so that the romance could be taken either way. 

 

He was the last romance added to the game, so he does have less content. This is part of the reason why you can't even flirt with him as a non-female elf. There just wasn't enough time and/or budget to put those scenes in the game. However, considering what we got, I am more than pleased with the outcome.

Solas's romance was basically added during the extra year of development after his writer thought "Hey, wouldn't a Solas romance be interesting" and wrote the dialogue for it.  So they squeezed it in under the wire.  I totally agree that compared to the other romances, it lacks in content.  But given the circumstances under which it was created, I'm just impressed they managed to get it in at all.  Not every studio would do that.  The lack of a "start a romance" trigger is IMO just an oversight since you initiate the romance in the Fade dream and effectively lock it in on the balcony.  

 

I get the impression that Solas and Lavellan's relationship status, along with whether they slept together, was left up to player interpretation.  He does deceive you a LOT, and I think they left it open so players wouldn't feel like they'd been locked into a serious relationship under false pretenses.

What Solas couldn't tell her, what he must bury deeply in his heart, was the memory of the greatest disco stick in all of Arlathan, which belonged to his enemy. Yet, he couldn't deny the glory. It hurt to think about.

I want someone to draw my Revas on a big giant throne of goddesshood all legs crossed and haughty while all her hot elven men (solas, felassan, abelas, all the male pantheons, fenris, zev, etc) all gather around her looking adoringly at her. And she's smirking.
